High Grading Claim Jumpers
afreakofnature replied to GhostMiner's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Why should he beware? Will he commit murder? He better have a good self-defense story being not in his home. This is what cracks me up all the time about people carrying a gun thinking they’re going to shoot someone when they’re on their claim. Gimme a break, I doubt someone is going to commit murder and spend their life in jail over gold dust and if they do they better know the consequences. Even if he doesn’t shoot but points a gun at them, the cops will come pretty quickly to that and it won’t be the claim jumpers getting in trouble. -
Coiltek Coils For The GPX 6000 - Confirmed!
afreakofnature replied to Coiltek's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I am here too. Did not realize the off axis might be a coil issue and thought it was just picking up errant emi. What I don’t want to lose is sensitivity or depth compared to the 11”. Anyone do any good ole comparison tests yet? -

I have had the police siren effect before too, but it was Outside EMI. There was this one spot where i was detecting where it would always happen. 3-4 feet in any direction of it I was fine. -

I am glad you got your detector working! Thanks for posting the video. When I listen to what you consider stable now is what mine normally sounds like with the 11”. I always considered that normal as well. Just FYI. -

Wait, what? It sounds like a coil problem but you say your testing shows both detector and coil problem? Not understanding, you might have miss spoke in your above post? -
Chris Ralph’s book is great! Highly recommended. Better if you’re looking for gold deposits in your specific area you could always research the USGS publication warehouse.

Yeah all the people that are like “oh I probably already had it but just didn’t know,” I am like, “No, no you didn’t. You can tell yourself that though to make yourself feel better” 🤣🤣🤣 -

That may be the law but it may not be at practice. You take off you lose job. -

You know dang well they don’t get Sick Leave and definitely need the money to support their families. Most people in the world do. But for cheap labor it all pays the same no mater what comes off the line. Knowing this Minelab could change where and how their products are produced but my guess is with cheap production with offset of warranty replacements, they still making money hand over fist. It would not surprise me if the warranty period drops on newer products. Similar to what new cars have done over the years. Now that being said. I love my GPX6k! It has found the most and biggest gold yet for me! Knock on wood, no problems yet, except a squeaky shaft which gets annoying every time you swing. Ironically my buddies 6 came out of the same box (they come in twos) and his headphones won’t charge and his handle started to come loose. -

If you ever had Covid and still had to work with it or its after effects, the QA/QC will not be there. I can only imagine now that this is the case for many things that were produced over the last couple years and will continue. I finally got Covid this past week and if this is mild Covid I can not imagine what it was like before. I can tell you for certain that if I was in a factory with this I would not give 2 shits what comes out and would just want to lay down and rest my body and brain. The brain fog is terrible and the forgetfulness is disturbing, let alone the other flu/cold like symptoms. -
Coiltek Goldhawk Is Impressive On My Gpx-6000
afreakofnature replied to Gerry in Idaho's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
GR Guy. Do you have the info to put a list together of gold size vs depth for each coil you used? We all know that smaller coils are gonna lose depth but I would just like to know how much people are experiencing. I really could use a smaller coil but it isn’t going to be much use if the depth is not there either. Too much loam in my areas! 🤣 -

I just go to the spots that have the big shallow gold and avoid the the deep little gold spots 🤣🤣🤣 -
I cant believe there is not a way to jailbreak the machine to bypass the chip. There has to be some programmer out here that can figure this out. The machines have usb ports for updates. I mean iphones are jailbroken all the time to use unauthorized apps. If u can mod an iphone u should be able to mod a detector, especially if camera shops are fixing them, looking at you phrunt 😁.

One thing for sure, coils are “usually” cheaper than detectors! 🤣🤣

You should be happy NZ is left off the map. Some here wish we were! 🤣 -
Hmmm obsidian. Well if I held it in the hand I would know lol. The picture really does look like chert but if there’s an obsidian source pretty close by it’s probably it.
-
Oh…..and your not supposed to remove items from NP’s. Not even rocks. Just future FYI.
-
Your desert glass looks like chert (crypto crystalline quartz) to me. If hand worked, could be an arrowhead.
-
The government is tracking you now lol probably some type of device for some scientific experiment being done in the park

1.21 jigawatts of energy turning lead shot into gold as the coil goes over it! 🤣
