  1. Great haul Lucky! I thought all the nugget were gone at Rye Patch, I've been hearing that for years.
  2. Nice gold and relics. Thanks for sharing and hope your ribs improve so you can keep getting out there!
  3. Honest opinions on these scams before and it is much appreciated. I think a lot of times folks are afraid that they will be considered "bashing" a product if they speak out that way. But honestly there is more technology in the motor that powers your windshield wipers than there is in these LRLs. In my opinion, SCAM is the proper word to use. There are a pile of guys here that recently dropped $10k on a detector. You can bet that if these things did what they claimed everyone of us would have them. Still haven't met anyone except newbies, that have probably never found a nugget before in their life, that have had any interest in these things.
  4. Hey Cabin Fever, I wrote one of those articles on my website about those gold plated copper nuggets. They are a lot less common than they were a few years ago, but I'm sure there are still some making the rounds out there. On one as big as 6 grams like yours, I think you would notice the odd size/weight difference... they kind of look realistic, but the weight difference is really noticable if you have handled a lot of gold.
  5. Steve, I saw one of those just the other day browsing Bill's site and immediately liked the look of it. As you mentioned, I have a stabilizer that mounts on the shaft but but can really see that added advantage of this design. Glad to hear you like it and thanks for the field report on it!
  6. Shasta, the Koss are my favorite as well on my 4500, as I can regulate the volume where I want it with my Gold Screamer. I have good hearing so the dual volume control doesn't make any difference as I have the right and left side on the same setting anyways. It's just one more thing to have to dink with...plus the stock Koss headphones are by far the most comfortable for me.... but I can definitely see the benefit of balancing out the sound with dual volume controls for a person whos hearing is worse in one ear than the other. I've tried most the others brands mentioned above and don't really notice much difference in them as far as sound quality. The main difference is comfort wearing them all day, but the preference there will just depends on the person i guess.
  7. Have to agree 100%. There is another well known gold magazine out there, but sometimes it feels like your just reading an infomercial and not a lot of substance... The ICMJ is top notch. I also have the online access which has tons of articles dating back many years.
