  1. Hello to all went for a bit of digging on Sunday ,next to home.I could not carry all the gear on the motorbike so i walked ,loaded like a Trooper from Easy company on DDAY.....peeps were looking at me i was expecting to hear: -NORMANDY??That way!!➡️➡️➡️!?? Anyway when i am digging alone on the foreshore i decided to do trenches long and not very deep to check the layers of different soils and try i took the GMPwith the elliptical coil on her maiden voyage. It is hard work and i was sweating like a pig ,and i am fit,i stopped at 2.5 feet So on the menu we got: 2 early clay pipes 16/17th century Pieces of crap and a brass bracelet The silver bit was found while testing the coil ,and the best find was what i think is a Pilgrim Pendant with a scallop maybe 12th century/14th century nothing amazing but why got to the gym when you can exercise doing what you love :):) Enjoy RR
  2. My fav coil is the 5,75 DD from tesoro i got a few after market coils BUT i always had a feeling manufacturers coil are slightly better tune, with a crispier response .It could be BS but thats my feeling anyway.I am Talking VLF here . RR

  6. I agree I came to the same conclusion,we drove we try and found only tiny bits.If I was to move there I will get and electric bike and off we go ,but as you mentioned a lot of spots have been detect, sieved ,dug, mined etc.....I have to admit our Ozzie friend did a good job there! Never detected(prospected) in the US so not too sure :) one day maybe RR
  7. Hi Just my 2 cents I never used a 2300 before my trip yes I used 5904765430280865085 metal detectors and I do have 1 PI a Goldscan 5c modded for beaches (originally bought for OZ) after 10 minutes in the gold fields I managed to find targets I had 10 non ferrous on the 1st day (more like afternoon) of course I was surprised of how easy it was to use , but the coil position the lousy arm cup and the headphones were, annoying and after 11min of use I was already thinking of how to improve it . This machine is I think the best starter PI .Will I buy one if I was to detect more in OZ YES RR

  12. Excellent!look that the flora and fauna were the same where i was i agree on : Bendigo and Victoria honor the struggle of the miners and keep it open for the entire world to 'have a go' at finding nuggets. No one will ever get them all in this part of the world. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!! RR
  13. I ate well in Oz i was lucky every time then ..........i also brought back jams, honey and chutneys which i bought on a local market in Warrnambool ,top breakfast in Appollo bay and had a fab burger in ......forgot the name just to name a few.Everywhere i had coffee it was better than UK . The best was Goldrat BBQ and wife salad buffet but that s another story.... RR
  14. I saw it in action in OZ considering that it is doing very well on Europe beaches i think it has proven it can cover a large aspect of metal detecting. I think i would have bought one during my trip if i wasn't already loaded with machines................. RR
  15. Good luck i wish i was there right now..........but you got a Z so you gonna hit those elusive nuggets hard!!! RR
