  1. It is interesting to hear just how steady the Threshold is on the Algo on both of those videos.
  2. Yes, handy but very slow. Micro USB is 2.0 amp input. USB-C is 3.0 amp input. Solar is just 0.3 amp input. Days of sunlight to fully charge that! Hope the Algo is there soon πŸ‘
  3. Ah, yes, I didn't read that properly. Without that option I am going to have to pass up the offer as well πŸ™‚
  4. Even if you can break it up into 3 easy payments of $30,000??? πŸ˜‰
  5. I just bought one of the little Cygnett solar charged battery packs a week ago. Hopefully not too heavy for the Algo and should balance your NF coil nicely. Is that a 12"? I didn't buy mine for an Algo, just for camping. Was $100 at Office Works but they price matched a deal that Anaconda had at $70. Need to get some of those little USB plugs to fill the gaps of the other ports whilst it is on your Algo πŸ‘
  6. Followed your link Art. It shows the unlocked episodes but unfortunately it says unavailable in our region 😞 Jin is an Australian too, so likely has the same issue. Is this where one of those VPN thingo's would help @phrunt ?
  7. I know it will be also directed at communications and the other areas of their business but $117 million of product development is encouraging.
  8. Wow! That is very interesting to know. There will be very few camera shots of landscapes appearing in photos or on YouTube from now on. Thanks for the heads up πŸ‘
  9. If it is doing something special/new with ground balancing and can handle ground that the GPX 6000 cannot, that is the extra power I am looking for. And, if the "Algo 2500" is calibrated for large targets and has the same ground handling ability then things might get very interesting 🀞
  10. This bit is particularly exciting I think. I have areas where these clays are a P.I.T.A and at Manual 1 Sensitivity the GPX 6000 still does not handle them.
  11. Hi NK. I have been fortunate enough to receive my father's old 5000 that was modded by Mick at Detectronics. Have only used it a couple of times now but have been impressed with its smooth threshold, the ability to wind it right up and the ability to tame things for hotter ground. Used it last weekend around the Whipstick for a couple of hours and picked up a nice 4 gram piece and the usual other bits of crap. Using a 19" Evo and it was about a foot deep. Had 2 6000's with us (my mother and my son using them) and they picked up 5 small pieces of gold and the usual 867 pieces of lead shot! Unfortunately we didn't check anything before digging. Not sure where you are NK but happy to meet up at some stage and compare the SD Vs the 5000 if you like? I'm in N.E Vic but head to Bendigo reasonably often. I've also got a GP 3500 that I'd like to check on some deep targets with the 19" Evo as I think it might have some issues. I bought it to run a 20X40" AI drag coil and it was underwhelming but I assumed that was just the coil. Hooked it up to the 5000 yesterday (in the shed) and the threshold was smooth and the detection depth of air tested targets was pretty much 2/3 more!
  12. Good post TE. I know this is a prospecting forum but probably nearly worthy of a thread on its own. Very important subject and one that many people don't realise can have such dire consequences.
  13. And if it can ground balance over a wider range of ground with its greater amount of inputs that can be changed, then that will make it even more attractive. I love the GPX6 but handling some ground poorly and not having the settings available to make it usable has been a real shortcoming (IMHO).
  14. Hmmmmm πŸ€” Well, Dalas backwards is Salad. And we all know that... ...so, that can't be it. And Dalas was a big TV hit back in the day with JR and he wore a big hat. But one L is missing from this version. Is it, one 'ell of a BIG hat!?
  15. I was a bit concerned that it was possibly only good for small coils/fast time constant gold. Maybe not?
  16. This thread may need some updating Steve... Absolutely. Even if a battery bank only lasts 3 hours that is fine. They are as cheap as chips, easy to swap over and easy to carry a couple of extras whilst recharging the used ones. It is interesting that Nenad is the dealer. We would love to hear from you @PhaseTech There seems to be some interesting additional settings on the AlgoForce. Strange name though??
  17. You tell a great yarn Klunker Cheers 🍻
  18. Currently I use another brand as a LL transmitter and have an Avantree AS70 as the LL the receiver - and then I can plug anything I want into that - headphones, ear buds, sports ear buds, etc - and still remain wireless from my detector. If I could pair an Avantree LE transmitter and sender that had sub 30 ms latency that I can use across several detectors that doesn't interfere with them - perfect. And including the volume function that the AS70 already has would be useful too. For Avantree to try and produce a set of LE headphones that are going to be to everyone's liking is near impossible. For example, I hate headphones and never wear them. Provide transmit/receive devices and then let people use their favorite head-sets. Oh, and waterproof, dustproof, shock proof, a clip to attach to a shirt or detector cover and a battery life of 15 hours plus please 🀣 Happy to test it when it is ready πŸ™ƒ P.S. I have only ever ordered 1 Avantree product and it was direct from Avantree. From when I ordered it the product release was delayed by several months. To the companies credit a staff member called Lucy sent an email every month letting me know what was happening. I assumed that much of that was automatically generated but I replied on one occasion to clarify what was happening and Lucy gave a very honest and appropriate answer. Would buy from them again πŸ‘
  19. I'm not sure Rick but my guess is that the tree was already on fire (maybe previously hit) and then they just captured lightning in the background. Still a good shot but in Queensland during electrical storms the night sky can feel like it is almost constantly lit because the lightning is so frequent. Like I say though, I am just guessing πŸ‘
