Ground Causing Constant Oscillation On The GPZ
nvchris replied to jasong's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Hmm, your describing magnetic resonance oscillation. Am I correct that the GPZ detection field is created by polarity switching? -

I seem to hear some volume (and smoothness) kicks in when the threshold passes 34. -

The only thing I've seen that remotely resembles at least part, is the metal foil label on aftermarket skid plate. Somehow I can't see you not aware of this though, your one of the sharper knives in the draw That said have you cleaned out the coil cover? -
FWIW the replacement did not come with the latest firmware. I suppose I should be grateful that Ive gotten a brand new replacement. Not really, the customer service from ML West repair facility, non existent. Sad that the head of customer relations had to step in and do their job. Disappointed that Ive had to pay over $100 in shipping/insurance for a covered warranty issue. As a shareholder I'm outraged that the only option is a total replacement for a lack of a $100 part. Love the product, disappointed in the top management.

Where did you send the unit for evaluation Randy?

Minelab's New Website Up And Running
nvchris replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Not a very responsive theme. Not a mobile friendly site, 80% of sales traffic is from tablets and phones... Many of the store links are not working (on iOs). The carry bag thats listed under the GPZ is advertised to fit "all minelabs" I have one, it don't fit the GPZ.. Why don't we have a soft carry bag for the flagship detector? -
Tracking says Tuesday the 2ed. I have some reclamation/reseeding work to do so I plan to try it out (hopefully) then. Curious to see if it's running the latest firmware. Having fun with my new toy! The nugget flipper!

My Nugget Detecting Kit

Cool idea, but I don't think 2 watts will reach more then 1/8th mile with line of sight. GMSR radios @ 5 watts are still a better choice at this time. -

Is that my new loaner? It come with tire chains? -
I'd be interested to know what happens to the broken detectors, after all the only thing wrong with mine was a LCD screen/board. The coil, shaft and housing must be still useable for the replacement parts market. I'm going to do some dumpster diving in Chandler!

Pleased as punch, and applaud ML customer service in Chicago for all their help dealing with an unresponsive repair facility!!

Fireball ready and Ill provide meals, lodging and transportation! The bus will depart Qunicy @ 7 am tomorrow with stops at every telephone pole! Just got word today via phone and email, that the detector is a total write off, and a replacement is shipping today. Minelab please consider my suggestions that along with the RMA # a scannable bar code is generated, this is attached to the shipping label and when the package is received scan it into a innovatory system that automatically sends an recipe of delivery to the consumer. This would have saved a lot of time on both ends.....

Some days the auras shine brighter!

What ML West does is authorize the mail carrier to sign for deliveries. In my opinion this need to change. I would suggest that as soon as a package is checked into MLW an email or text should be generated and sent to the shipper. This can be automated with a scanner. Take a cue from Amazon.... 10 days its gone...down time is lost $$$$....

That is the custom box you could get from The Gold Dust Twins Black Canyon City AZ. The sticker is from mailing the unit round the world

Just got off the phone with Nadia, At least I know now they have the detector. Seems like the repair facility is "to busy" to call or text. Must be tough on the folks in Chicago to make excuses and promises that don't get done. So this indicates (to me) that they (ML West) are understaffed, overwhelmed or both. I should have been on the road south by now....

Over a week now and still no reply from ML West repair center. Ive called at least once a day and left messages with contact info..... This is crazy to do customer service like this.....
