Notice of Intent to Hold
A Notice of Intention to Hold (NOI) the mining claim(s)/site(s) may be filed in the following circumstances:
- The BLM has issued a decision granting a deferment of assessment work
- It is the first year you have located your claim, and a small miner waiver has been filed for the upcoming year (assessment work is not required the first year of location)
- A small miner waiver has been filed on a tunnel or mill site claim (assessment work is not required on mining sites)
- The maintenance fee has been paid for the current year, and a small miner waiver is being filed for the upcoming assessment year (switching from paying maintenance fee to filing as a small miner)
There is not a BLM form available to use to file a Notice of Intention to Hold (NOI) the mining claim(s)/site(s). Claimants may use forms available through other states (forms may be changed to indicate state in which the claim is located) such as:
- Nevada Commission on Mineral Resources, Division of Minerals
- Arizona Department of Mines and Mineral Resources
or create a form that meets the state and federal requirements. The NOI form must state:
- BLM serial number(s) and claim name(s)
- Change in mailing address of the claimant(s)
- Statement as to why assessment work is not required
- Signature of claimant(s) or their designated agent(s)
The Notice of Intention to Hold (NOI) the mining claim(s)/site(s) along with a $10 per claim processing fee must be received in the BLM office by December 30 in the calendar year in which the assessment work requirement would have been due.

I took it to mean we could fine tune the GB at anytime.

A marked increase in HipStick sales with the release of the GPZ.
My Ozzie distributer (JP) stated the GPZ users were rejecting the pro swing in favor of the hipstick.
Mitchel, its the same concept of transferring the weight just a slightly different design to avoid patent infringement.
Notice that ML has not sought a patent on it.
"regardless of vendor" If you're not buying one made by detectoraid, you're supporting counterfeiting, patent and copyright infringement.

An inside job, someone he told or showed stole it.
A lovelock prospector had his display of gold that spanned many years of detecting, stolen several years ago.
If you're going to keep it around the house a gun safe bolted to concrete or a floor safe in concrete.
A friends has a display that is in a finished basement, it's a long lighted glass top bar with draws/trays that fit into a large gun safe set into a river rock masonry corner. Its pretty cool to be able to show and secure your finds.

Tracking off, threshhold 1, sensitivity 9 or lower and slow down. It moans and groans but targets still pop.

1. GPZ 7000, the beast.
2. GPX 5000, smooth as a Rolls Royce.
3. SDC, pfft, deeper crumbs then the GB2.
4. XP Deus, nothing better in the iron littered mining sites.
5. XT 17000, ya, its still a world class VLF nugget hunter.
6. Fisher GB2, the dry washers last tool! (and worlds best hot rock finder)

I agree Jasong,
The Camelback bladders have near zero taste and the Mule Mil Tac is built for detecting. The D rings are in the proper location for the hipstick.
Hard to beat the Lealand Cotter custom picks, I use a long handle one with super magnets when in the trashy areas, it saves a lot of bendovers!
This is the first aid kit I carry.
Elite First Aid Tactical Trauma Kit #1
SKU #: EFA-FA142MSRP: $49.75$24.99 -
Quality comfort and performance drives my pack choices.
As for doodads I carry a Spot satellite beacon.
Cannon camera that shoots HD video.
Military grade trauma first aid kit.
Hoof pick with brush.
No pinpointer.
Sturdy pick.
Nugget scoop.
Nimrod Modular Hunting pack for long day trips and overnighters.
Camelback Hydration pack for tailgate days
Will detect for beer!

Yep, thats what its called, the U/P of Michigan, it's a local thing to refer to it as the U/P.
Link to the copper culture your state link
Ive tried several "2 box" VLF detectors including the TM 808. That why I recommended the TDI with a big loop.
Its a low cost PI that accepts a wide variety of coils.
More deep seekers that actually work, (Ive tested most of these). I won't talk about the performance, the treasure hunting community is pretty tight lipped.

Welcome to the forum OroSeeker.
Explore for native copper and silver in your area. Minnesota has a rich history and The UP is legendary for massive native copper. It may not be as romantic as gold, but its mining.
Go old school with modern tech!
A PI metal detector like the Whites TDI, will do fine.
Don't wast money on a LRL, your better of with homemade dowsing rods.
The big boys with deep pocket$ use XRF handheld analyzers.

Tracking or fixed?
Ive had some success in hot basalts Iron stone mix in fixed.
It's a Nevada location so no mineralization or hot ground here
Another reason why I kept a GPX, it will jump through more hoops then the one trick ponies.

Time and motion.
Mountian get worn down to hills, hills rise to become ranges, valleys fill then rivers scour them to bedrock.
Gold not only concentrate in drainages, but scatters on alluvial fans, re concentrates and scatters again.
This process is never ending.

Ive seen many very experience operators struggle with recovery.
This is a numbers game, the faster you can recover a target the more targets you can process.
This same method works well with the GPZ 7000, only tilt the coil to about 45° and use any of the 4 hot spots on the coils edge located @ the 11, 1, 5 and 7 o'clock positions (look for the embossed lines that delineate the center winding)
A vid I did a few years back on pinpointing.
