  1. Hey Gerry, Thanks for the kind works. Ya, the industry as a whole is much different. A buddy said he wanted to start selling detectors, don't know anything about them, but thought it would be easy. I told him good luck! Rob
  2. Hey Guys, The NF coils are tough right now. We did get a small batch of the new GPZ 17x13 Z-Search coils, most of them all gone. We received some more Sadie 8x6 Mono's and 14x9 EVO's, but most of the other EVO's are on backorder still and NO GPX 6000 coils. We are only getting one size on the next shipment, I believe the 12x7 GPX 6000 coil. I also agree about the color, would think a lighter color like white or even gray would reflect UV better than black, shit we all know car manufactures claim a Black Vehicle is 3-5 degrees hotter than a White vehicle. Maybe plastic is different, but I look at just about everyone other coil manufacture and they are white, Orange, Tan and Gray for the most part. Oh well, if they work well, keep swinging them! Rob
  3. Hey Guys, This is coming from another Dealer, Gerry has his own ways .... LOL , but is a stand up guy and fights the good fight for the detector industry. If I could of just tape recorded or shot a video of the handful of times Gerry has stood up against the Minelab bigshots during these conferences, fighting for better prices, better products and just to listen to us (the dealers and end users a bit more) on feedback about new products/detectors. P.S. Ok, Gerry now you owe me a slice of pizza and a cold one from that Rye Patch bar/restaurant ... Hehe Rob
  4. Believe it or not, the NF 17x13 Z-Search coil, which we now have in stock (see classifieds for details) really balances out the GPZ 7000, even better than the stock 14x13. Nugget Finder did a very well job on constructing this new coil for your Minelab GPZ 7000.
  5. Hey Guys, I have swung the Minelab GPZ 7000 from day one with the stock 14x13 searchcoil, but the moment the new NF 12" Z Searchcoil arrived here in the US, I purchased one and haven't taken it off. I might loose a tiny bit of depth, but it made the GPZ 7000 useable to me all day without any assistance (harness, bungee, swing arm and such). It's super light and super sensitive and much easier to pinpoint with. Now that being said, the new NF 17x13 GPZ coils are just about to arrive and now I have to try them out. I never cared much for the stock 19", so the NF 17x13 might be the ticket for more deeper gold. I personally don't think the smaller CTX battery is the solution for a lighter GPZ. I found it to throw off the counter balance effect, so prefer the standard or stock battery to add a bit more weight on the back end of the detector. End users light consider the use of a good custom harness/backpack, bungee cord, swing arm or going with a small searchcoil like the NV 12" Round Z Search or potentially a X-coil.
  6. Hey Steve, I didn't think their was much truth in it, but it was a legitimate question that was brought to my attention from others. I was directed to the original post on a social media site. I'm impressed with the Garrett Axiom and know it's not some old Minelab SD or GP technology from the performance. I figured with your knowledge and involvement with many different manufactures the truth would be told quickly. Thanks for your detailed explanation of Garrett. I wasn't a super huge fan of the Infinium for gold nugget hunting, the ATX was better, but way too heavy in my opinion, but I believe Garrett hit the Axiom out of the park @ $3995.00. A few customers are using one at a mine site and they are impressed with it's sensitivity to quartz/gold using Monoloop. Rob
  7. Hey All, It was brought to my attention from a friend, that the new Garrett Axiom is just old Minelab technology. I really didn't know how to answer this question, when it was asked. Someone (name not listed) posted this on a social media, so myself and other customers are curious on the validity of it? I'm not sure what Ultra Pulse Technology really is, beyond Garrett's PI version or technology. Curious mind would like to know ....
  8. Hey Steve, Good points, especially on the 11" DD for gold hunting. I'm sure the Iron ID works well and could give you better target separation Swegin - A few of my customers have been out, the reports are all about the same. Everyone I talked to so far light the weight, Discrimination works well, pretty sensitive detector and works well on most ground conditions. All my customers that own a new Garrett Axiom have scored at least one nugget with it on the first trip out. Since the detector is so new, most are probably out playing with it, or hoping to get out soon with their new Axiom. Rob .
  9. Hey Gerry, Great report on the new Garrett Axiom. I haven't had much time on mine yet, most keep going out the door to customers, you know how that goes. I did just write a quick first impression post about it. I think Garrett hit a Home Run on this one. I spent most of the day with it, light, strongly built, USA made, priced right and such. We could only wish the overall economy was better for any manufacture releasing a new product at this time, but I think as time goes on and hopes of things economically turning around, Garrett will be glad they built this unit. Rob
  10. Hey Guys, Due to my limited time, I haven't had much time on the new Garrett Axiom metal detector. However, my first impression on the unit were pretty good. First, the new Garrett sells for MAP of $3995 or 15% discount for USA Active/Retired Vets. I believe Garrett marketed this unit to fit perfectly into the budget of most gold prospectors and treasure hunters. They also give you the option of two packages, one with wireless headphones and a 11" Mono and 13" DD, or wired headphones and a 11 DD and 13" Mono. Many of my customers have been split on the packages, the ones that want more depth out of the box seem to take the larger Mono packages, while the ones that are looking for max sensitivity to small targets and nuggets go with the 11" Mono. Secondly, overall the unit is very light, lighter than any other gold hunting Pulse Induction metal detector including Minelab's GPX 6000. I also believe Garrett built a bit better design, haven't seen issues with a shaft turning or wobbling as of yet, seems like a stronger design from other similar manufactures. Finally, on the Goldfields, the unit was very stable overall. I used the 11" Mono the entire time the first trip out as I wanted to just get used to the performance of the unit before dabbling too much with the DD and Iron ID. That being said, Garrett does offer the Iron ID on this unit, where most other PI's have done away with any type of iron discrimination (GPX 5000 and prior). Many believe there is still a need or use for Iron ID in trashy locations, which I do tend to agree. The unit was simple to understand without even reading the Quick Start Manual. I charged the Axiom the night prior, let it charge overnight and removed in the morning prior to the hunt. I powered on the Axiom, adjusted the sensitivity, placed in Normal mode, Tone around 55, adjusted my threshold, used in Medium Tracking then did the EMI tune and started hunting. The unit ran really smooth and stable, the only time it was a bit unstable, which happens with most detectors is when a airplane flew over. This would last a minute or two, then calm down. Believe it or not, my first target in a very trashy area was a nice nugget (pictures will come). I couldn't believe it, had to yell over to a friend and say, "Dude do you believe this?" That being said, I spent the next hour or so digging through a bunch of trash and didn't find another piece until later. I only had a few small hotrocks respond, which could easily be ID's when seen. I ended the trip with 4 nuggets, two pretty nice ones and two smaller ones. I also had a nice pouch full of iron rubbish, as I was not using the DD or Iron ID on the Axiom at the time. This will be something else I need to experiment with, as I heard the Axiom does very well with the Iron ID mode. I was hoping for a bit more sensitivity to small targets, as I was running the "sensitivity" almost all the way, but realized later I wasn't in "Fine" mode, which I believe will increase the overall sensitivity to small gold even more than the "Normal' mode. Quick Conclusion - Garrett did a great job on this unit, it's priced right, performs well, very lightweight and will have other searchcoil options available. The unit is super easy to use, almost a turn on and Go detector. I know there are a ton of people going to ask, is it better than the GPX 6000, I'm not going to say that, but I think with the price, performance and a USA made detector, Garrett hit a "Home Run" here. P.S. I don't claim to be an expert on this detector, I have had very limited time on it, but do have over 30 years detecting experience now, so I felt I could give a fair, quick field test on this new Garrett Axiom. May all your targets be Golden! Rob
  11. Hey Guys, I have had a handful of users claim they can locate veins, nuggets, treasure or whatever, but when it comes down to them showing up and doing a presentation for you, they never show. I think LRL's are a scam, never seen anyone use one that can successfully prove it. What I always tell someone, look at the industry experts, hobby end users and even some of the major mining companies, if they are not using one, then that should tell you something. Don't buy into any claims that they are the only ones that know about it, know how to use it right .... blaw ... blaw ... blaw! I'm not a big believer of Dowsing Rods either beyond maybe looking for large metal objects (buried pipes and such) or water. I do know some of the water companies have used Dowsing, but I'm talking about searching for items like coils, gold nuggets and such. I buried a 9+ ounce solid gold nugget and both "expert dowser's" (their words) walked right over the top of the nugget with less than 2 inches of top soil over it. I'm sure all the other "Dowsing Experts" will tell me they didn't know how use them .... Just my thoughts, Rob
  12. Hey Steve, A few good point, Microsoft Defender is pretty good if you're internet savvy and don't open unknown attachments, strange emails and such. There are plenty of people that see an email that comes through and says "discount" and then click on the attachment to see what they get, beyond the virus the just opened up ..... I have a couple of Anti-virus programs, but Defender has caught all the strange stuff just as well as some of the high dollar Anti-virus programs. Rob
  13. Hey Guys, Thanks for the update. I can insure you all there is no virus or harm on our forums. We went through this a few years ago when another customer stated it had a virus and I contacted the Host, Invision Boards and they did all the checks and everything and said it's fine. The Boards are hosted from Invision, it's on their server and I actually pay monthly for my server to be hosted, unlike a lot of the free ones that are loaded with ads and pop ups. Hope this helps a bit. I'm always updating my forum with all the new updates, so if someone is not ok with viewing, I completely understand. As much as our forums are slow, I still personally maintain and keep them updated and remove all the unwanted spam visitors. Rob
  14. Hey Guys/Gals, That is correct, American Detector Distributor has confirmed our shipment and should arrive soon. We will have both Garrett Axiom Metal Detector Packages available. We will make sure to get all our pre-orders that are pre-paid first out, then pre-orders list next. We should have enough to supply our current orders and anyone else interested in the purchase. Going to be exciting times now that Garrett has an amazing Pulse Induction detector. God Bless, Rob
  15. Hey Guys, Like Gerry mentioned, we both have been dealers for a long time and this is the first time I have seen a nearly $1000 detector included in a promo. You normally see like a free coil, battery, pinpointer or such, but value wise this is the biggest giveaway I have ever seen. It's limited time, up to Dec 31st of 2022, so anyone interested should contact their local or favorite Minelab dealer for sure. There are a few other promo's I added to the Classified section, so you can see those also, the SDC 2300 with a free battery and the Equinox 800 metal detector with a free 6" coil. We also have a batch of the Artesian GPX 6000's, which have the 11" Mono and 17" Mono, rather than the 14" DD. However, there could be a option to have all three coils! 🙂 There is a lot of speculation about why Minelab is doing this, such as slow sales with this economy, worried about the Garrett Axiom sales and such. Maybe Minelab's thought process is the Axiom at $4000, GPX 6000 at $6000, if they include a free $949 detector this makes the end user think more. For another $1000 you essentially you get a FREE detector, so you and a partner can hunt together. No clue ..... We have all the packages available and they will make great Holiday gifts. Contact your nearest Minelab dealer to lock in as the supplies will be limited and demand probably high. God Bless, Rob
  16. Hey Reese, Great channel, always fun to see others finding gold in different areas. I probably have about 10 channels I subscribe to so I can see all the new videos when they post them. I have my channel still, but I haven't posted any new videos in months. I probably have 20 hours of footage that has not been posted yet. I believe I have 106 videos loaded on my page. https://www.youtube.com/user/Nuggethunting/videos Hope to see some more of yours very soon. Wishing you many more GPX 6000 nuggets! P.S. If anyone don't have Reese's new book, I highly recommend it. Great read, awesome pictures also. Rob
  17. Hey Bill, You could always give them a call and find out. Right now, I'm sure they are plagued with GPX 6000 repairs along with all the other stuff during the now busy prospecting season here in the US. Many customer send in their detectors to get checked out prior to the season, so they could be loaded down. That being said, they are normally pretty quick on getting repairs finished and shipped back to the customer. Rob
  18. Hey Guys, I have had a handful of inquiry's as a Minelab dealer for over 20 years, I have yet to know what the "Minelab Tool Kit" is? I have sent a few emails to find out ....
  19. Hey Guys, Just a FYI for you. Keith at Detector Center called and official said they are doing the "speaker mod." You will need to contact Detector Center and have a ticket created so they know it's coming to them. Give them a call, let them know and then ship it to them. Hope this helps, Rob
  20. Hey Jason, I'm sure your used GPX 6000 will sell. I'm still selling new ones, but it has slowed down a bit due to many waiting to see what the Axiom does. You might have taken my comment out of content when I said the GPX 6000 Coiltek coils are selling very well and you might of thought I was referring to GPX 6000 metal detectors. The Coiltek coils, mostly the small 10x5 and 14x9 are selling very well, but detectors have slowed down a bit. I have a large pre-order list for the Garrett Axiom, Nugget Finder GPX 6000 coils and Nugget Finder GPZ 17x13 coil. I don't like to take any funds in advance, I just add you to a list, first ones on the list will have first shot of what inventory I have on hand when they arrive. Some customers insist they must pay ahead to be guaranteed a item, but it's not required from us. It's going to be an interesting Winter season with new detectors and coils. I'm hoping that only means more gold for the end user. Good luck, Rob
  21. Hey GotAU, I agree, a lot of archived info on the forums. I still remember the first online forum ran by Ron Long (Uncle Ron) which was hosted by Yahoo, called GoldStalkers Forum I believe. This would of been back in the late 90's or early 2000's. ROb
  22. Hey Guys, There is no question once Steve created the "Detector Prospectors" forum most fell to the way side, including my forums at - https://forums.robsdetectors.com/ I'm not super active on them, but my forums date back for ever a decade or longer and some good information for anyone that wants to search for a subject. It's still online, I just haven't kept it hot. I also have no ads, so I don't generate any revenue from my forums, as the free forums that have all the ads do generate revenue (based on clicks). Personally, it's easier for everyone to visit one forum for the most part. I remember when here in the US, most dealers had a forum and you would see the same posts on 5-6 different forums. I believe Bill Southern still has a forum, but also noticed a huge decrease in post in the last 6-12 months. I think majority of the "buzz" is here, so keep it running! Rob
  23. Hey Guys, I think this will be a great coil for the GPZ 7000. It's been a long wait for one, but I'm excited to re-visit a few old patches with this new coil once it arrives here in the US. I have kicked butt with the stock 14x13", but the last 2 years I have been using the 12" Nugget Finder round Z Search and love it. Hard to part with the GPZ, but every year I'm getting older .... Rob
  24. Hey Guys, Talked with Max (Minelab Americas Rep) today about this issue and asked what is the process here in the US. He is going to check and see, but I'm sure everything will have to go through Detector Center in PA, USA as they are the repair/warranty center for Minelab Americas. I have tried to contact Detector Center direct about it, but I'm sure they are getting calls so I haven't heard anything back from them. Hope this helps a bit, Rob
  25. Hey Guys, I can tell you from a Dealers standpoint, I sell both Coiltek and Nugget Finder and have for decades. That being said, there is a huge demand for the Nugget Finder GPZ coil and the GPX 6000, but customer are starting to loose interests in waiting and taking the plunge on the Coiltek version for now. I'm struggling to keep the Coiltek ones in stock, even for the Equinox series, which I guess is a great problem. Every time I ask the US Distributor about when they are coming, it's another 2-3 weeks. Trust me, he's super frustrated also, it's money being lost for Nugget Finder, the Distributor and all dealers. I'm hoping we see at least a small batch before Christmas here in the US. We have a pre-order list on the GPZ and GPX 6000 NF coils if anyone is still wanting to get one. Rob
