  1. I would recommend getting rid of that plastic wrapping around the body of the case. You are blocking most of the air from getting to the case to help cool the electronics inside the case. There are several temp sensitive components inside that can affect performance of the detector. Mike
  2. What we are reading right now guys is all history, happened in 2002. Unfortunately we can't go back and "fix" whatever happened back then. It's nice to speculate, kind of fun though. Mike
  3. Another reason Steve is the forum remembers where a member has left off reading a thread, you only have to click on the thread title to jump to the first unread post in the thread. Much more convenient than always having to start at the first post in a thread. I don't post much but am on the forum almost every day. Help out when I can and learn something almost every day. Mike
  4. I opened another tab and tried to load Rob's Forum and got the following warning the sight is "Infected with URL:Botnet". I am using AVG Internet Security. I clicked "more information" and got the following: URL https//forums.robsdetectors.com Process C:\Program files(x86) MozillaFirefox\firefox.exe Detected by Web Shield Status Connection aborted Clay, I meant no harm to Rob and/or his business, my sole intention was to warn others of the possible danger to their system. As you can see my system still is catching what it believes to be a danger to my system. As far as I'm concerned you all have free will/free choice you can open the forum or not as you wish. Mike
  5. Just tried to log into Rob's forum, my security software blocked entry. I did a virus scan on my machine and it's fine. Use caution trying to log in. This was approximately 6:45Am Arizona time today11/23/22 Mike
  6. A gp3000 just sold here on this forum for $1K. I would say a fair price for the 3500 with a single coil and probably a dead battery is about $1K. Pay her what she is asking or if it makes you feel better a little more. I sold a 3500 with 2 coils and 2 batteries on this forum for $1200 a couple of years ago. Both the buyer and I felt it was a fair deal. One of the batteries turned out to rather ill. At that time Doc still had fresh batteries for it. Mike
  7. I'm already into it. Reading an average of about a month every day. It's an even better read when it's uninterrupted. Reading it this way is like actually being there and part of the adventure. Mike
  8. Great job G M, Thanks for all the work you did in creating a wonderful adventure. Mike
  9. This is a very interesting story. Please let us know when it comes out in print, I'll be in line for a copy. Mike
  10. Yes, both the Nugget Finder and Coiltek mono coils work very well on both the original and pro TDI's. Have used both brands successfully. Mike
  11. My 06 Ram 2500 has 3 12Volt plugs 2 on the dash and 1 in the center council. The 2 on the dash are with the key, the center council is on all the time. Mike
  12. The best place for a "Wanted" post is up in the classifieds, you will get a much larger response there than here. However I myself just went through the exercise of determining that I have 2 dual field TDI coils that I would be willing to sell. One is the 12" round dual field that came stock on the original TDI and the TDI-Pro (initial follow on TDI), the other one is an elliptical 6" X10" Jimmy Sierra dual field. The reason for selling is that both of my TDI's have been highly modified by Reg Sniff and the dual field coils are no longer effective with my TDI's. Mike
  13. Just because you were back there looking for gold don't assume the other person was too. It's a good possibility he was but he may also just have been an off-road enthusiast out for a good time - we have thousands of those here in AZ. Good luck - have fun. MIke
  14. You mention that you don't think your buggy couldn't handle that road. If it's anything like a Ranger or RZR (4wd, off road tires etc.) it would be no problem to take that road, 5 minute ride. The tough part would be the wash out at the hard felt turn, just take it easy through the wash out and on the following up hill keep the center of the vehicle over the washed out area. I know in one of your previous vids you mentioned what you drive, but I don't remember anymore. Just remember to take it easy and you should be fine. I see off-road vehicle tracks all through the video - you aren't the first one going up that trail. Mike
  15. Try these guys. They do custom jewelry, but I don't know if they do any smelting. Located in Prescott. https://artfuleyejewelers.com/ Mike
  16. First name & last initial - helps me remember who I am. Mike
  17. Karelian, I agree completely with your comments about the smooth threshold. I am able to run both the original and Pro units wide open on gain and threshold with no warble at all. Makes for a very satisfying detecting experience. Mike
  18. That warble in the unmodded Pro is what drove me to distraction in both my original and Pro machines. For me that particular mod was a life saver. Karelian, I believe the second mod in the modded Pro is to increase sensitivity to small gold. That may be worth looking into during your testing. And for me if the turbo vehicle met my needs better than the stocker, the stocker would be the goner. Looking forward to your test results. Thanks for doing the testing. Mike
  19. So sorry to hear that. In our prayers. MIke
  20. There are several dealers here on the forum that offer training classes. Hopefully they will chime in on this thread and let you know what they are offering and when. I think in your case the training classes would be very beneficial to you in getting started with your 7000. Mike
  21. I have two of Reg's mods in both my TDI's. One makes them more sensitive to small gold and the other makes for a smooth threshold ( I have always hated the warbling threshold in every other detector I have used). I can now run both the original and 2nd gen TDI's wide open on gain and have a perfectly smooth threshold. Mike
  22. Saw on the news this morning it's been stolen! I think it was a 65+ year old man has been arrested, so far. They believe that at least one or more to come. The crooks didn't turn off the water, so a goodly portion of the castle was flooded. Mike
  23. Most all the coils designed for the ML GP, GPX series of detectors will work well on the TDI. Before you buy you should try to find out if the detector has been modified with some of Reg Sniff's design changes. If so the stock TDI dual field and other dual field coils may not run properly. I have a "quiet run" and "small gold sensitivity increase" mods in both my TDI's and the dual field coils no longer run properly with them. I believe it is the small gold sensitivity mod that caused the dual field coils to no longer run properly. In my opinion the asking price for an unmodified "original" TDI is about right. Mike
