  1. And you can choose between the old ATX audio or the classic Minelab sound…….😂 That’s rubbing their face in it 👍
  2. To Fisher engineers……please put the brain in a good body 👍
  3. Is that beer or soda….🙂 Detector looks good……are you gold prospecting or general detecting?
  4. I’ve just realised that I’ve never bought a new Minelab PI metal detector……and probably never will. Dealers must hate people like me 🤬 When will I “upgrade” from my old, obsolete SD2100 and GP3500 dinosaur machines…..😎 ……that continue to find so much gold 🙂 ……. but I’m seriously eyeing off the Garrett unit pending its release and what it may likely offer.
  5. I’ve got a good feeling about this soon to be released detector…..Garrett knows what we want in a simple, lightweight and affordable PI detector…..that’s got a little punch. If they can deliver in these key areas (where Minelab choose not to) then they will reap the benefits. The thing that concerns me is I suspect that Minelab may well have some prototype models that they can release to market if needed….. not necessarily high end but possibly similar to what Garrett may launch ?? I would love to know what Minelab has hidden away in their R&D vaults…….possibly models planned for release years in advance.
  6. I don’t have a problem with a “wife detector” so long as it has an effective “noise cancel”…….🤔
  7. Hello Clive, Yep, the fact that 20uS still responds slightly to fast salt tells me that all is well as far as sensitivity is to the higher karat gold…….the slightly diminished response to lower karat gold doesn’t bother me one bit. Also, the valuable stones are nearly always embedded in 18K and 22K gold. I tend to work the “crash zone” of the waves as this is where a lot of gold ends up…….almost impossible to work with quick delays 👎 I sure get mashed around in this spot but I always have it to myself plus I will use my old bonephone under a dive hood as regular phones don’t last long here with the constant waves stripping them off your head. HH Tony
  8. My SD2100 and GP3500 would totally agree with you Simon. Todays modern machines may have the brains but sure as hell don’t have the body to go with it. The older machines had tough bodies and tough brains as well 🦾
  9. I just can’t see Fisher launching any other pulse units…….I feel it’s the end of the road for that line of detectors 🥺 Would I like to see myself wrong…….most definitely.
  10. Absolutely nothing wrong with a manual ground balance 👍 If the ground is highly variable then a bit more tweaking is needed but quite often you will have a better tuned machine over an Auto GB I may be biased as a I drive a manual 4WD with manual windows and manual locking hubs 😳
  11. Hello Paul, Best of success in WA (I think you like our gold😎) I’ll be out most of September with a couple of your fellow hunters from the USA. At this stage, in the Leinster area. Might bump into you at some point in time.. 👍 Tony
  12. So true…… the next time I see an ironstone outcrop (here in WA) that has been struck by lightning, I’ll be sure to take a photo. It can look like a small solidified lava flow 😳
  13. Hello Clive, Loving the Sea Hunter (XL500)……mind you, Eric did a lot of work on it. As you know, the Ikelite cases are bulky but I mount mine like a backpack and forget that it’s even there 👍 Eric made it a Motion detector, upped the pulse rate and increased the pulse width to help capture the bigger pieces of gold. Min delay is 20uS which for me in moving saltwater is the Goldilocks setting. It’s quite a beast and I wouldn’t swap it for anything on the market. Hope you’re having a good summer in the briny 👍
  14. Fisher Engineers to each other: “Looks like the Super Shampoo Stabiliser MK2 was all we needed” 🤔 Probably the best 13 cents you ever spent Clive 👍
  15. Just to lighten up this thread…. GP3500 to SD2100: You tough son of a bitch…….wotcha wearin’ ? SD2100: Full Metal Jacket GP3500: Sssswwwweeeeeeet SD2100: You still da main man though….that GB button is killer GP3500: Yeah but you always got my back if I ever go down SD2100: Thanks Bro……let’s go find some real nuggets
  16. Ooohhh…..those “shark infested waters”…….maybe they will find “snake infested jungle” as well 👍
  17. Sorry no spare vehicle (My 76 Landcruiser is for me)…….I do have a spare SD2100 which means you will find the big ones and not waste too much time chasing the piddly one grammers with the latest machines 😜
  18. Time to go to work…….that’s if I can drive in a straight line 😂
  19. What happens in the goldfields stays in the goldfields 😎
  20. Coffee just blew out my nose……….I just read Gerry’s post and under the PICK section…….on this is priceless. Should do a screenshot before it gets edited. Can you crack a rib from laughing 🤣🤣🤣
  21. Well I have Kiwi neighbours on both sides of my house…….complete with Jandals and Chilly Bins (Simon will understand what I’m saying). It is remote over here……just the way we like it 👍
  22. Meekatharra is not where you would go for a holiday 😳
  23. Okay….where is “there”……Meekatharra or Australia 😂
  24. Hello Paul, Well I might see you out that way…..I’m kind of retiring soon so hopefully will be out and about a bit more. I live in Perth so that’s about 700 kms from Meekatharra. Let me know if there is anyway I can help you out at any time……unfortunately I don’t know where the nuggets are 🤔 Tony
