  1. That lump of steak is amazing, I have seen a few nice pieces of pottery in the Past but nothing even comes close to those, john
  2. The attentton to detail is brilliant, and the colors are spot on,
  3. Stop toying with us, maybe you are a Victim of EMP, professional prospectors will go to extremes to gain the upper hand, Get your self on of them Armadillo helmets, they have been known to resort to mind control tactics, Remember Safety first,
  4. He Needs a VNP 7005 But getting Paul to part with it is going to be a Chore
  5. Congrats, looks like a few hours work there, thanks for posting the photo, john
  6. Two Box machines are great if you own a Backhoe, The trouble starts if your pin pointing with the thing is off and you end up digging 2 or 3 feet either side of what you have found, I agree with Steve and Chris, A PI machine is the best bet for a couple of reasons one they have the power and 2 they can see through most ground conditions, and with one of those machines you will be digging some pretty deep holes, there is no easy way round what you want to do, but research and your brain is your most powerful tool because even the most powerful detector will be useless if you are looking in the wrong place, There is more small gold out there than big nuggets you would be better of buying a PI and a VLF (LF) machine and do what the rest of the Guys do or buy a VLF and an SDC and hit the areas where gold has been found before, and if your lucky you will get a return on your investment, Go and read Steves detector reviews and see which machines he has, and that's 10% of the job done and start looking at old maps and old news papers go to the lands department and check out where you are allowed to go prospecting, But first off join a Club that owns their own claims and watch and talk to the guys who are successful at it, That will get you closer to making you goal a reality, John
  7. Paul that second video is so true, with what Duane says at the end and what Skinny Jim says about writing songs around that Guitar, There is something about it that when you here someone play a tune my fingers seem to know what he did and I can picture it and even if I have never played it before and can do it or I say to myself "So That's how he did that", My guitar sounds like every sound you heard on that Video or you can make it sound like Chet, It's Like an Angel when it sings, Oh and Paul I have a confession to make do you remember that Guy in the Sharp looking Suit with the Red.Orange Accoustic Gretsch, Well within a week of buying my Tennessee Rose I bought this, Because I was so worried of damaging the Tennessee Rose I bought the Rancher to Practice on, The Gretsch Rancher also a Reissue of the 50s model John
  8. Thanks Paul, The Master Class,, Vince is right, Theres only one Chet, john
  9. That's cool, working on boats is a bit of a specialized thing and can turn costly if someone tries to fix it them selves,, Fly fishing is good way to enjoy peace and quiet and the wilderness, and there is a fair bit of skill involved too, john
  10. That Is Incredible, I am in shock and awe I have never seen anything like it, It does sound Amazing when it is plugged in but it sounds pretty good when it is not, I use to restore US cars from the 50s back in OZ and I had my own work shops because I trained as a Mechanic and I use to build hot motors and tricking up the cylinder heads etc, and I had my own paint and panel shop because I trained as a panel beater and spray painter, and I use to make my own Bull Bars and lighting bars etc, Gee I loved making things right, well you should keep it up because it is a great thing when the world gets mixed up and when I play the world is a brighter place, keep up the good work, Over the years I have learned there is no bad music just bad players, all music is good if it is played right, Lol, your such a romantic I use to fish and Shoot and hunt a lot in OZ I even won medals for Shooting, I still have some of my kit but my Guns have all gone because they take a Dim view of that sort of thing over here, damn it. john
  11. Silly part about it I got choked up when I heard the first note I played on it and my hands were shakin, I never thought I would ever see one let alone own one. john
  12. Yep It don't mean a Thang if it ain;t got that Twang
  13. It is a beautiful thing and another reason for getting that model is because it Has Tennessee In it's name and they are the second model that Chet designed, the first model was the Orange one that Eddie Cochran Played with the "G" brand on the body and the Cactus and fence's and Steer Heads on it known as the G6120 DSW where my one is the G6119, I have always liked Rockabilly and country music along with 50s Rock"n"Roll, So it fits the bill and the Sound is something else, lol the First tune I played on it was Elvis's Mystery Train, and then Duane's Peter Gunn. john
  14. Yes Thank you Bob for your reply and PM, which I have just answered, I am so happy about getting this new machine as I have waited so long and thanks to SHoward he really came through for me, and it will be here Tuesday, this is not to replace the SL because that lovely threshold is something else, Take care and Get well soon,, john
  15. When you are not Prospecting / Detecting what are your other hobbies, Back just before my 16th birthday I started playing the Guitar and the sounds that moved my soul was Scotty Moore, Elvis's Guitarist along with Eddie Cochran and Duane Eddy and of coarse The Shadows and when I bought one of Eddie Cochrans Albums I saw and heard the Guitar that turned into a life Long dream from 1979 and no matter what I could not find one and then the company went out of business in 1986 and the only one that did come up for sale sold for over $170,000.00 anyway my last Guitar I had I bought on new years eve 1989 in Australia and it was The Eric Clapton Custom Shop Signature model, well I kept that guitar and it travelled the world many times with me and still in perfect condition I sold it to a friend in 2011, because I eventually found the Guitar of my dreams because they had started making them again, but that was never meant to be and my life changed, anyway last year I thought what the heck and although I did not buy the Eddie Cochran model and I ended up buying The Chet Atkins Tennessee Rose which was designed by the man himself and the color was what I always wanted it took me 35 years to make that dream come true and it cost me a few 000$ but It was worth it and the sound is like Duane Eddy, Eddie Cochran and George Harrison, The Travelling Wilburys and the Mavericks and of coarse the Late Great Carl Perkins, So without further delay, This is my Gretsch. john
  16. Thank You Steve, that is exactly the answer I was looking for, As I said I really wanted the 4500 but here the conditions won't allow that, Thank you Again, John
  17. Thanks for that Rob, Like you I have my VLF's as in the mxt all pro and the gmt and if I can get by with the mxt and that monster concentric I bought I would be happy because even though it is huge it can see bit smaller than 1 grain, But in some areas the PI is King and I just want to get this right, I am not happy with buying new machines and trying to get them to work better due to warranty issues, As I have the pro turning up on Monday or Tuesday and as of yet I have not found out how these machines run. My GP 3500 ran fairly good so I am hoping the Pro will do the same but as yet no one has said anything as to how they run, thanks mate, john
  18. Thanks for explaining all that Reg, Jimmy Is a good man, I have spoken to him a few times over the past 5 or 6 years and each time it was a pleasure, I am trying to sort out a longer burn time So Is the pro going to work above 5 or 6 on the Gain in standard form or not, To me I just don't want to throw good money after bad if they have not fixed the warble, If it will run up around 8 + then that's not so bad, I can run my MXT and my GMT bordering on being hot or slightly rough sounding, But I am hoping for it to be stable ISH, Thanks again Reg. John
  19. Don't leave know, someone has tried to lead him astray with false claims and he is just toying with any ideas some clown has thrown at him, john
  20. I would just take the Raw facts of Steve's and Chris's Posts and try prospecting as a hobby, If there was a chance of finding monster Nuggets then they are the Guys to find them, As for that LRL stuff they are marketed Solely to Target People Like you that need to be successful and If they were any good then Minelab, Fischer and Whites would be making them, you need to study the history of such places read Maps and buy a VLF machine and a PI machine and just get your boots on the ground, Prospecting is a tough game of cat and mouse,,,, You against the elements,, Some guys here go 10 years without finding a single Nugget and if there was a short cut to getting more gold then people would not be here chewing the fat, remember a VLF and a PI and a good pick and 2 hand held GPS's john
  21. What ever the correct term is, either way your mod is making the machines not see or ignore or hide the noise, You know what it is you know the cause and how it effects the machine, I don't,, I am An end user so what ever it is called is totally Alien to me and any such talk goes over my head and as an end user my only concerns are why is it there and how can I get rid of it,, If it was a small Block Chevy or a Ford then I could wring it out to dry, but electronics just does not make sense to me, hence why I threw this question up here so those that do know the Answer can put it into words that I understand, take care,, John
  22. Reg I know the Hiccup is a problem with the SPP but I have never seen anyone showing the hiccup when using the SL As this video shows clearly what bothers me is how can such things be released hence In August 2014 I bought an SL but because Whites UK do not sell Many I ended up with one Dated 2012 so there is no chance that if there is a problem with using it in OZ then I am Stuffed, So not long after you told me about it a few month back Now, I phone Whites UK to try and Get It Sorted out and they told me That as far as they know there is no such problem with the SL, So I argued the toss with them and begged to differ so I can not get it fixed here and will have to pay to get it done when I get back to OZ because it will be out of Warranty by then I have No Doubts In A Single word that you have said and I agree with you 110%, So My only other choice is to Buy The Pro, Which has taken me 5 years to get whites uk to order one and that only happened because I asked SHoward Why Can't Have One and it was him who Told the powers that Be what will happen, I am very annoyed at being sold a machine in August 2014 that is Dated 2012 when in fact they should have recalled world wide and put right the moment this issue was found, So Now I have to wait for the pro to turn up or Buy A Minelab 4500, which will punish me because of the Junk over here, But I am starting to think maybe I should just do that and Dig more junk, As for the bit about the de.sign, there is no need for hostilities because I don't doubt one word you have ever said In fact if you have not said something is so then I do not believe it, so please take the time to understand what I am saying thanks mate,,, John
  23. Congrats Strick, That's a beautiful Nugget, I'm glad to see that you are the One who found it, Brilliant Mate. john
  24. Saying that I have had a similar issue with 2 of the same brand, even the cheap ones are a God send when you don't have one, After using them for so long I would be lost with out one, My old faithful see's bits down to 0.03-0.06 grams so I don't see the need to buy the latest because they are not as sensitive. john
