yes AM, I would not like to be out there when the storm hits, I got caught out west when a good one hit and the water comes up quick, like I said it was good to know that it behaved fairly well until the storm had passed but I would rather it passed my by 100miles/160 kms away because even at that distance they can still upset some machines, it is never going to be a Depth monster but it will give a person another option, I had the Gain up flat out against the stop, the storm was going round where I am, But it was not as wild as the Tropical storms we have in OZ, My VLF was falsing and I had to drop it down to the preset and even then it gave the odd churp out, john
-
Yeah Fred, I only tried it out because people say how some machine warble a fair bit and they can hear a storm approaching and then some machines become un useable even if the storm is 100+ miles away, So it's good to know the detecting doesn't have to stop when one of my other machines gets too much

The 7000 Ferrite - Something Different
auminesweeper replied to Bada Bing's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
That Ferrets Ring works a treat and I am sure it keeps the coil 40% warmer on the Alaskan series TDI. -
The 7000 Ferrite - Something Different
auminesweeper replied to Bada Bing's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
The Ferrets have had enough of minelab and are going it alone, the use of Duck tape ruins their fur and they are now threatening strike action. -
Sitting here with some serious Rain going Down,, ( Cool Yeah ) It then started to Thunder, So In my moment of madness here indoors I decided to turn on the TDI SL, I set the frequency and cranked up the Gain flat out an not a whisper of EMI, This got me to thinking that when you are miles out in the Bush and your Mega PI's are singing like Alvin and the Chipette's It would make good sense to have an SL with you when you have storms within the detection field of your PI that way you wont waste time in camp or have to go home and who knows you might even find a life changer, I was going to sell my SL because I have another New machine I am going to Adopt, But after doing this today a person would be a fool not to keep it even if it is not the most powerful machine out there, because at leased I can still go detecting when the atmospherics are ruining the chances of all other machines and the price is not going to kill you and Nor is the Wife I see it as a machine to finesse your kit not as a replacement like you would with coils etc, Anyway just a thought,, john

300 Tons Of Nazi Gold
auminesweeper replied to auminesweeper's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
Well it would not hurt if they divided it up with the families that survived and the government gets the rest,?? apart from that heaven knows what to do with tt. -
Got The Nokta Fors CoRe Yesterday....
auminesweeper replied to bado1's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
Until we get a discriminating PI this is the best method by far I just need to build up my PI skills and confidence in the PI. -
Got The Nokta Fors CoRe Yesterday....
auminesweeper replied to bado1's topic in Nokta / Makro Metal Detectors
Sounds good to me, have you checked out Steves posts about his review/settings, you have a great machine there and in good ground there is no point in giving your self a hard time with a PI machine unless it can weed out some of the junk, I think there is going to be a lot of good finds made with that machine, keep up the good work, john -

300 Tons Of Nazi Gold
auminesweeper replied to auminesweeper's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
I think it would be all in gold bars, they stole so much from teeth and jewellery and private sources so it would almost be impossible to trace it, and the swiss have a huge amount that they hid for the germans which they have never given back, which I think it's about time they were made to give it back, because really they should be arrested for handling stolen property just like any civilian would be if they did the same. -
It's bed time there now mate but I have A plan so give me about 8 hours and I will find out for you Ok, john
-
Thanks Tom, I was wondering If the TDI was subject to miss-understanding as with many sensitive machines, Tom it would be nice if you can hit that gold a lot lower down, please let us know if you seal the deal, I love happy endings Good luck Tom.

Because someone opened the Over Door and it Didn't Rise,, lol

That'll Make Somebody A Nice Door Stop, Thanks Lunk, john

So The Noise is more about what people decide it is, In Stead to what It Actually is, As I tend to Run The GMT in The Same Manor As In On The Edge, So Basically The TDI's Threshold is Quite Normal, I seem to remember my 3500 singing to me all be it in a Softer Tone, Thank you for explaining that, John

G;day Folks My son told me about 2 Guys who found A WWII Train that went missing loaded with 300+ Tons of Nazi Gold and he sent me this Link, John http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-33994483

Steve, I just read your TDI Moore Creek Review and In it you said the you managed to run the TDI At Full Gain, Yet I have heard tales stating that the TDI is Noisy, So what I am asking is it the Location that made the TDI Quiet so you could run it that Hi or Is The TDI pro more Noisy than the TDI you Have/Had, Because I have read many times that most people can not run them about 6 on the Gain,?? Thanks Steve. John
