At Long last I got some proper Prospecting Picks From back Home in OZ, I have had A Devil of a time trying to get them, In the End A Mate who Makes them sent me 2 and He Has Done a brilliant Job First Rate High Class Picks Thanks to Him I am Almost ready, I took one to the hardware Store and each one I went in Asked what they were, So its no Wonder I had Such a Bugger of a Job Getting them, I Bought A Pick Axe Handle and shaped it to Fit the Pick and then I cut the fat end off, Then I bought some of that Gorilla Glue, My mate said use PVA but I wanted something a bit more Bullet proof, with that Gorilla Glue it tells you to make the Items to be Glued WET/Damp so I did the Handle and in the Steel Cup to, Then I coated the Handle in the Glue and inside the Tube of the Pick then I poured some into that Tube and Pushed the Handle In and gave it a few Wollops with My Hammer and then I wiped off the excess and left it for about 20 minutes, When I went back to it the Glue had expanded Like the expanding Foam, Man that is some Crazy stuff, within 2 hours it was very Hard so I cleaned it up and Put A Screw in the side just to make sure, So Hopefully it will stay put, but it is Tight enough without the Glue or the screw and I spent about 2 hours shaping it to get it right, so if it does come Loose I will stick it in a Tub of water over night and make it swell back up, so All is Good,

Where does SS. find this stuff???
NVC- You have no idea how correct about me being ambidextrous you really are. Several years ago I was viciously attacked by a pack of doctors. they disassembled my right arm and scrounged spare parts that I had from various other places and put it back together. they did a pretty fair job of it but they were about to be late for a golf game and they forgot to replace most of my bicep muscles. Now I lift everything left handed. This perfectly prepared me to swing a 7000 all day without bungees and sticks. I can truly say I was made for a GPZ 7000.
Hey Everybody, we got a Klunker 7000, lol

Well, all I can say is if White's does not care about their own new detectors I do not guess that anyone else will either. I have never seen such a lack of interest in a new detector from a major manufacturer. There are interested potential buyers, just no interest from dealers or White's themselves. I have no interest in buying a low price detector myself but I do post threads about them in case others are interested. It is telling that this thread is by far the only one going on any forum with any information at all. White's own forum at http://forums.whiteselectronics.com has barely any mention of the new models.
Findmall just started a new forum on the Treasuremasters at http://www.findmall.com/list.php?103 and so presumably that will be the place to watch going forward for any discussion of the new models. But if this is how the new administration at White's thinks you introduce a new detector they are in real trouble.
Well I did notice that a few weeks back But I thought it was just me, I have bought 3 new Whites machines In the Past 8 to 10 months and 2 in the last 2 or 3 months, if it was not for Me owning 2 of the earlier models I would never of Known what they have been up to, It is Almost impossible to get any Info about them, And I think they rely on people like me to spread the word, Like it or not I have been using One of those Models for up 70 hours a week for about 5 or 6 years and yes I have had a week or 2 off from time to time, So I am Bound to Notice any changes In Those Machines and it is not just A matter of me raving on about them, And That's the Bit that Burns my Draws,, I Know That They Have Changed something and I think it was done to keep these Machines Competitive with the Newer Models on the Market.
If A Truck Driver is Driving for 70 hours a week He too would Notice A Performance Boost in his Rig, and I am the Same with these Machines

Sheila can GB the 7000 40% or better than any other user.
No worries with her, and she`s real mean with a pick.Paul, good to hear from you, trust all went AOK. Am only on fresh air having a bit of fun with OZ English. Explain a wee bit, Fosters is a OZ beer of International repute, probably disrepute , Sheila is a OZ young good looking woman. A barbie is a outside cooking appliance. It is sort of a National "pastime" for OZ blokes to stand around the "barbie" drinking "fosters" and talk about "shielas".
Yeah and it goes down like A Lead fart over here,, here you got to sit around with the cook and if you don't God help ya when you get home.. No Thank You, I've never had A Beer Say No

Getting the coils may be another thing. Only the 4" x 6" elliptical and 9" spider coil are shown on the current Whites coil compatibility chart. 950 coils are still being sold but the solid 8" round appears to be discontinued.
Well that's a shame about the coils, otherwise they would fly out the Door, I have only seen one thread on this machine at whites and I think they don't do enough to promote their products around the world, I got asked why Whites did not Advertise their machines Virtues Like depths, Speed etc, and all I could say was Maybe they don't want to make claims and have someone Call Foul, Which Makes it hard for Dealers because people are always Skepticle about Them.
That Cam Lock issue really Bugs me, I hate shafts that Rattle, I would have to buy another shaft kit from whites and fix that, But then that would drive up the overall Cost.
John

Well in that case Steve I'd say with all them coil options puts this in a League of it's Own, I did post on the Whites forum the Issue about the Cam Locks, That does not impress me but the rest of it is Brilliant,

Not about gold but same difference, of interest perhaps?
They must of put in a few hours work In to setting this up, Just think of all the poor buggers that have detoured to that sign just to find that.

I know my machine has been around for a few years now but this Latest format seems the hottest yet, I asked whites about it and they never tell you much and the info I got was more of a Coded Message than a statement, All I Know is it see's 1.0 grain pickers at 1 to 2 inches and a 0.34 gram Picker at 6 to 7.5 inches and it can see my hand between 4 to 6 inches+,
And all of them Lead Test Pieces I used for testing my GMT My MXT can see them, so I know they have been hot rodding these machines,

I think I'm turning GREEN, And NO I am Not The HULK or Kermit.I`ll have to take a photo next time I`m in that area, the ground just makes you drool, but that was it and I`m fairly sure it had not been visited by a detector before me, probably none since even. Wolfram, Molybdenite and Bismuth country.
I got one of them Tandy 4003's and my Son has the next one down from it, If you send me that nugget I will do some Extensive testing for ya, I hate to see a Mate Struggle on His Own,
Geeze I'm Thoughtful. Kind, And I got some Good Points Too.
lol.

From a few years back, got this piece in an area littered with ironstone-quartz on surface. But despite extensive search nothing more, came in a little over 8 ozs, about 2 inches deep could have got with a Tandy Special.
Struth Mate, thats A Lovely Little Door stop.
Thanks for posting it,, John

I had Jr do the same to me, And I still have not lived it down.
And then I was testinng one of my machines in the garden and the Mrs goes and finds A Silver chain In my test Area, That Hurt.

Actually, "Woof" is one of the "handles" under which Dave Johnson (Chief Designer) at Fisher, etc.) posts on a MD forum. Given the number of gold detectors Dave has designed, I guess he is sort of the champion gold detecting "Woofer"!
I have met him however, and he's not nearly as cute as the little rat in the picture!
Are you Sure?? I Always Thought Dave Was A Little Taller??

Is that the new Minelab W00F?

Yeah, I decided to use the one on the left first Because I like the Flat edge of the Blade for when you are raking out the spoil and I think the Handle will Last quite A while because it is made out of English Beech and It is Extremely Hard and won't flex,
