  1. Tom I posted the link and over 500 people have seen it but someone at Whites has taken it down, I have seen the machine, You know with 4 knobs on the left side and 2 in the mid section on the right hand side water proof to 25 feet, suitable for beach and in land Relic Hunting and Prospecting, Shall I say more ?
  2. Well if we are confused then what is that machine I posted that "Whites" are advertising on their website ?
  3. Send him a PM and see what he has to say, ? When I am done what I am doing I am going to order one in a month or so.
  4. Lets hope they have boosted the NiMh pack with more voltage, My factory pack has a max power of 11.5 or 11.6 volts which is why I made my own pack that puts out up 16.29v depending on what batteries I put in it. But I never go above 12.6 to 14.5.
  5. Yeah well the SL is deeper than any VLF on the beach according to a video I watched a couple of days ago, and another thing that makes me think that this one is based on the Pro is the weight, the SL only weighs 3.5lbs and this one weighs 5.2lbs. ? This guy is comparing the TDI SL to the CTX "Although he has only just got the SL and does not know how to use it and his settings are all up the creek but on one very small Gold ring the CTX can't get it but the SL does. sorry but it is painful to watch.
  6. No I think it is the TDI Pro in a Wet Suit because it has too many knobs on it to be the SL.

  8. Here is some nice MXT Gold, and one of them was 18 to 20" deep. Not bad for a VLF. and he says he got a huge signal at 18" that is one huge deep nugget. https://www.whiteselectronics.com/find/mxt-is-a-gold-magnet/
  9. 0.05 mate it's not for detecting House Bricks, Try 0.005 as a starting point, The normal GMT will see 0.002, Lol.
  10. The trouble with their chart is they quote 1.6 volts for the Ultras, but they are always between 1.81 and 1.82 volts each where as normal energizers and Duracells are 1.61 to 1.62 straight out the pack, All I know is they have some serious horsepower, the worse results someone that I know of got from them was 12 hours because they had 1 cell that went flat but all the others still were ready to rock"n"roll.
  11. I am still playing with my TDI SL and having fun, Some where on the forum is my battery conversion that holds 9 AA Cells, Using 9 NiMh cells it puts out 12.6 Volts and using 9 Duracells it puts out 14.58 Volts, Using the 9 NiMh cells it was good for about 6 and a half hours, If you use an 8 cell pack using Energizer lithium batteries gives you about 14.48 Volts and will last for about a day and a half to 2 days. they are not cheap but the have the power. John.
  12. Cool well done Gerry YOU Da Man. Looks great and it performs, tell us more tell us more, Gerry what is that black rectangle on the side of the battery box ?
  13. I found these on Whites web site This one was actually tested in Australia's Golden Triangle where the ground is about as bad as it can get. https://www.whiteselectronics.com/find/mxt-finds-gold-in-australia/ https://www.whiteselectronics.com/find/mxt-finds-12-2-ounce-nugget/
  14. I remember that the Sovereign GT had an Iron Mask switch on it and even when it was turned off it would still mask Iron So maybe the EQ has one built in too/ Not Sure about that but it might, So them coins with an Iron/junk Core might be ignored So Hammered Coins Should be alright if it is an Iron Mask ? hope that helps. John.
  15. Thanks Chuck for the update and I hope it all works out for you, I wonder how the MX-7 works compared to the MX-Sport.
  16. TV was junk tonight So I settled in for some Coil testing and I was watching Gerry's Video about setting up the GMT because I saved it to my YT channel when he first up loaded it and I watch it every now and then, He was talking about hot rocks/cold rocks anyways I was sure that I got the MXT to hit them harder and that the sound was more Bell like, anyways I had the 10"2D coil fitted and the response from a hot rock was somewhat muted and I messed with the settings firing up the MXT with the tracking on so I could then lock it to "50" and it was still noticeable then I tried the 14x10 Detech and it was the same as the 10" 2D coil and then I fitted up the 6x10 and it was a fraction sharper not much, Then I hooked up the 5.3 Concentric and BOOM clear as a bell, I tried it in the default Relic mode and that was very bell like and in the Prospecting mode it was a 65%+ stronger than using a DD. Then I tried the 950 concentric and it was strong like the 5.3 coil was. On Gerry's Video the hot rocks on the GMT sound like a blend of tones some weak some a bit strong, This got me thinking that if a person was to fit the old Whites GMII coil to the GMT or that new 6" round coil being a concentric it would ID hot rocks a lot better than the 2D 6x10 GMT coil does and save a lot of digging, Bottom line is if you can get away with using a small concentric on either of these 2 machines I don't think you would ever dig another hot rock. Of coarse by using a DD it will mask the sound of hot rocks to a fair degree so it boils down do you want to ID them or try and mask them out as to which coil type you use, I know concentrics have worked for me searching old camp fires where I found a heap of coins between the bottle caps. Seeing as it was your Video Gerry that gave me the idea maybe you might want to test the theory out some time, hope that helps. John.
  17. Does that machine have a Pull Tab Notch on it because if it does and it is turned on you will loose hammered coins, On the MXT those coins you have listed have the same VDI's to a few Hammered Coins, On the MXT and MXT-300 they have a Pull Tab Notch and if it is set to knock out PT's those coins and hammered and PT's will most likely be notch out/Blanked. Check to see if it does have a PT Notch before you do anything else, Hope that helps, John.
  18. I gave away and sold most of mine Now I am down to 2 plus my 2 vintage Detectors being my new/unused Blue Box Whites 5900Di Pro Plus and an as new Fisher Discriminator VLF 553-D that has died while in it's original bag, Needs work ? I got rid of most of my machines because I want to make room for a GPX 4500 and an SDC 2300, I was going to buy the ATX but I am not sure about it's Gold getting abilities so that one is on hold.
  19. Chuck excuse me for asking but have you just sent your machine back this year or is this an old thread ? thanks mate.
  20. Yeah for sure, I think it is pretty amazing that he got VDI readings on those classified specs, even though there was a few bits in the bag it has no effect in helping the detector see them better the only way it would help is if they were melted together, The smallest bit I have found with mine was 0.09 grains or 0.006 grams. John you need a PI to go with those two Beauties, Tell your wife I said it was Ok for you to buy one, and don't worry she can't hit me from there, lololol.
  21. I must be getting slow in my old age because I don't know how I missed this one "Video" but it just goes to show how smaller Gold that the MXT can see using the 4x6 shooter coil but I would like to add that the 5.3 is even hotter, His GND readings are between 68 and 71 and even though they are so small he is still getting some high VDI numbers also, those tiny bits that he classified are about the size of grains of sugar, The larger bits in the other bags are 1 grain flat pieces sort of rectangular and hand cut out of a sheet of Gold which most detectors should be able to get a response, but on those Classified Specs it is pretty amazing for a VLF, Enjoy, John.
