  1. Man, That's quite a bit of work but as you said...you wanted to learn. I know of a couple customers who send their jewelry in as well. I don't think they go to the efforts and detail (in fact I'm quite certain) as you did. I still have not decided if I]m best to sell them individually to get top dollar or not waist as much time and work with a smelter in small volume amounts. Thanks for sharing.
  2. I just tried posting my Part #2 of trip and after 2 pics loaded fine, the 3rd error-ed out.
  3. Amazing piece of history save. Most certainly a 22 or 24K as well. I used to take groups of Americans to England back in the day and one of my all time favorites was a mourning ring. Great for you.
  4. Sorry I may have missed, but are you swinging the California beaches? A couple of those rings are really cool. Most certainly a nice streak.
  5. Very interesting read Allen. I've dug my share of pick heads but your discovery is the most pristine I'm seen. Sharing big gold is always fun. Great on you.
  6. Birthday nuggets are always most special as on your special day you're getting to do what you enjoy. Yes, if you find one with a detector, it classifies as a nugget...in my book as well. Happy late Birthday.
  7. Great to see you out there for 2024 and getting a little gold. Yes, a day in the field is much more enjoyable than the same day on the couch.
  8. Great to see you scoring your 1st gold for 2024 Simon. Sorry the GPX-6000 is not doing as well for you. There's got to be more gold in the deeper soils. Keep it up.
  9. Well even though the error shows up, it does seem to allow me to add pics. I'm still not sure about the Like Thumb Up issue?
  10. Are you still looking and what price will you pay? I had a guy last week wanting to trade one in to me but I didn't want to do the deal as most folks are now desiring the newer Deus-II.
  11. The link is no more? Does anyone know where to get these now and for those who are using them totally submerged, what are your thoughts?
  12. Keith, We appreciate you letting us know there's another option and especially for folks on the East side of US. I personally know your business service is top notch, very prompt and professional. Just so we know, is there any other brands of detectors besides Minelab? Do you work on any older models Minelab USA does not warrant?
  13. As most of you are aware, Minelab Repair/Customer Care facilities changed locations and people. I want to share my 1st experience of 2024 with you. I called their Telephone: 1-877-SOS-MLAB (1-877-767-6522) expecting to have to leave a message as from many times past experience. In fact - I always thought it was quite silly they would use the "SOS" catch phrase in their #, when in fact getting someone on the phone was a given "NOT GOING TO HAPPEN"... Well I'm thinking...with the new facility and New Year, maybe a new outcome???? Yes, that's exactly what happened when I called and Scott Miller answered. No I did not have a SOS situation, but I know from years past, many a customers who received a new detector to only turn it on and NOTHING. Now that would desire an SOS most certainly. My concern was wanting to check the history of a higher end detector. I provided the serial # and ask when it was originally sold, where, if any repairs..what were they and when. When I take in a trade of someone's detector, I want to know as much details as possible. Scott did a great job of looking up and providing me the info I desired. Hopefully he and his partner Jason Kucer are always able to help make the Customer Care/Repair service as smooth as possible. At least this time, things went quite well and I am pleased. I can't promise they won't be able to pick up the phone every time, but at least the 1st time I tried in 2024 (Jan. 2nd) it worked.
  14. Thanks again for the kind words and allowing me to earn your business. I see an email you sent me and my reply will be long winded, so I called and left a message. Looking forward to seeing your progress as you learn the finer points of this hobby and your NOX-900.
  15. Please contact your dealer as it seems there's an issue with the detector. Make sure the dealer realizes Minelab Repairs just changed location and it's now at Minelab USA headquarters in Illinois.
  16. Minelab USA had a new headquarters as well. "Dear Valued Minelab Partner, We are excited to announce the opening of our new US headquarters in Aurora, Illinois. As a part of this expansion, we will now be providing in-house service repairs for the US market from this location. We look forward to delivering exceptional customer service to our Minelab family of detectorists and our valued dealer partners. As of January 1, 2024, all communications regarding service repairs will be directed through to the Aurora location. The Aurora Authorized Service Center (ASC) will have the capacity to perform both warranty and non-warranty repairs. We have added two exceptional customer care experts to the team, Jason Kucer and Nolan Miller, who will be happy to assist. To better service all customers, Minelab now has three ways to initiate a service repair or technical support question. Customers may contact the ASC by phone, email and now also via web form. Please feel free to contact us as below: • Telephone: 1-877-SOS-MLAB (1-877-767-6522) • Email: service@minelabamericas.com • Web Form: https://www.minelab.com/north-america-support Upon contacting Minelab a ticket will be generated, and the number provided. Please write the ticket number on the package when sending in the corresponding equipment. The Customer Care team will also require the below information to expedite any repair services: - Full name - Return postal address - Contact phone number - Detector serial number - Fault description Equipment should be sent to the following location: Minelab Americas, Inc. Attn: Minelab Service 3565 Butterfield Road, Suite 121 Aurora, IL 60502 USA As of January 31, 2024, Detector Center will no longer be authorized to perform warranty repairs on Minelab products. All repairs with Detector Center Repair should be completed and returned to customers by this time.". Well I was personally hoping for a 2nd repair Facility, preferably one on the West side of US.
  17. Getting more acquainted each time I go with it. This was only my 3rd time. Hunting in Saltwater 3 to 6' depth is totally different than beach hunting. Still feel my FBS 3030 was better at depth on men's wedding bands. I'll work with Iron Bias and Recovery Speed a little next time. It's so hard to stop hunting and start playing around with unknown settings when on vacation standing in the ocean. Idaho has nothing similar to test. Love the more compact and ergonomics of Manticore vs 3030 though.
  18. When you say it doesn't work on EQ-900 but does on EQ-800, can you elaborate more please? No signal at all, to much EMI, coil error?
  19. Good to hear you were able to get out there and work the hip a little. Frustrating when not being able to recover those signals in mud and or frozen ground. Not my kind of style of detecting, but sometimes it's all about scratching that itch.
  20. Merry Christmas 20 yrs ago and the two GP-3000 detectors purchased looks to have been a blessing of gifts for the two of you. It seems to have been a wise purchase and the boss was on board. I'm happy things turned out Merry for you. That's what so many of us desire. From reading a few comments, it seems as if a couple guys got the short end of the stick or maybe the other way around 🤔. I'm no wife (boss) selecting expert, only did it once 35 yrs ago. But I can put this spin on it. My wife understood my MDing passion which was 15 yrs strong, when we tied the knot. Personally, I think there's a few great detectors out there and also a few great potential wives still left. Sure you'll need to learn them and fine tune, but treasure reward could be worth it. Just remember... when doing the hunt for gold (a good boss), location....location...location...is key. A good boss is like a good detector, it just keeps giving and Geof got it right, with a couple other of you. 🥰
  21. Merry Christmas to your family as well Doc.
