The link is no more?  Does anyone know where to get these now and for those who are using them totally submerged, what are your thoughts?

    Hi Gerry-

Glad to hear the positive review of your interaction with the folks in Aurora.  As for Detector Center, we are not going anywhere…..   we will happily repair any out of warranty detector…. Just give us a call at 814-283-4270 or via the web as usual at www.detectorrepair.com

    Thanks!

Keith, We appreciate you letting us know there's another option and especially for folks on the East side of US.  I personally know your business service is top notch, very prompt and professional.

Just so we know, is there any other brands of detectors besides Minelab? Do you work on any older models Minelab USA does not warrant?

Buna Flash  now do your part and find some good finds for us to drool over

Thanks again for the kind words and allowing me to earn your business.

I see an email you sent me and my reply will be long winded, so I called and left a message.

Looking forward to seeing your progress as you learn the finer points of this hobby and your NOX-900.

There isn't a coil error, it isn't erratic or anything like what you'd see with EMI.  It just don't work on the 900. Doesn't detect anything. I can unplug it and put it on the 800...and it works fine.  I can take the 6 and 11 inch coils and they work on the 900 too.  But for some reason the 15" is completely dead when it's plugged to the 900.

Please contact your dealer as it seems there's an issue with the detector.  Make sure the dealer realizes Minelab Repairs just changed location and it's now at Minelab USA headquarters in Illinois.

  5. Minelab USA had a new headquarters as well.

"Dear Valued Minelab Partner, We are excited to announce the opening of our new US headquarters in Aurora, Illinois. As a part of this expansion, we will now be providing in-house service repairs for the US market from this location. We look forward to delivering exceptional customer service to our Minelab family of detectorists and our valued dealer partners.

As of January 1, 2024, all communications regarding service repairs will be directed through to the Aurora location.

The Aurora Authorized Service Center (ASC) will have the capacity to perform both warranty and non-warranty repairs.

We have added two exceptional customer care experts to the team, Jason Kucer and Nolan Miller, who will be happy to assist.

To better service all customers, Minelab now has three ways to initiate a service repair or technical support question.

Customers may contact the ASC by phone, email and now also via web form. Please feel free to contact us as below: • Telephone: 1-877-SOS-MLAB (1-877-767-6522) • Email: service@minelabamericas.com • Web Form: https://www.minelab.com/north-america-support Upon contacting Minelab a ticket will be generated, and the number provided. Please write the ticket number on the package when sending in the corresponding equipment.

The Customer Care team will also require the below information to expedite any repair services: - Full name - Return postal address - Contact phone number - Detector serial number - Fault description Equipment should be sent to the following location: Minelab Americas, Inc. Attn: Minelab Service 3565 Butterfield Road, Suite 121 Aurora, IL 60502 USA As of January 31, 2024, Detector Center will no longer be authorized to perform warranty repairs on Minelab products.

All repairs with Detector Center Repair should be completed and returned to customers by this time.".

Well I was personally hoping for a 2nd repair Facility, preferably one on the West side of US.

Fabulous story and even more fabulous finds Gerry - thanks for writing it up and posting for us to enjoy!

I'm guessing you are pretty happy with the Manticore.

Getting more acquainted each time I go with it. This was only my 3rd time.  Hunting in Saltwater 3 to 6' depth is totally different than beach hunting.

Still feel my FBS 3030 was better at depth on men's wedding bands. I'll work with Iron Bias and Recovery Speed a little next time.

It's so hard to stop hunting and start playing around with unknown settings when on vacation standing in the ocean.  Idaho has nothing similar to test.

Love the more compact and ergonomics of Manticore vs 3030 though.

Instead of starting a new thread about the 15" I thought I would just ask here.

I just got one of these coils brand new.  I was wondering if it was a fluke or by design...but the 15" does NOT work on the Nox 900 but works great on my 800.  I thought the only difference between the 800 and 900 were the shafts and a few minor software tweaks.  I guess there's something else too because I don't know why else the same coil would work on the 800 and not the 900.  Any of you guys ran into this?  This is the Minelab 15" and not the CoilTek.

When you say it doesn't work on EQ-900 but does on EQ-800, can you elaborate more please? No signal at all, to much EMI, coil error?

  8. Merry Christmas 20 yrs ago and the two GP-3000 detectors purchased looks to have been a blessing of gifts for the two of you. It seems to have been a wise purchase and the boss was on board. I'm happy things turned out Merry for you.  That's what so many of us desire.

From reading a few comments, it seems as if a couple guys got the short end of the stick or maybe the other way around 🤔.

I'm no wife (boss) selecting expert, only did it once 35 yrs ago. But I can put this spin on it. My wife understood my MDing passion which was 15 yrs strong, when we tied the knot.

Personally, I think there's a few great detectors out there and also a few great potential wives still left.  Sure you'll need to learn them and fine tune, but treasure reward could be worth it.

Just remember... when doing the hunt for gold (a good boss), location....location...location...is key.

A good boss is like a good detector, it just keeps giving and Geof got it right, with a couple other of you. 🥰

You may as well throw in the towel as a dealer and just become a full-time jewellery hunter on the beaches, a nice lifestyle and you are always paid off with great rewards for your efforts.

Well once I retire these write off trips will be a little more costly and out of pocket.  I'll still go down, just probably not as often, maybe once a year.

You really need to look into it Phrunt, as you're already a gold hunter and understand tecknyke and patience. My style of Prospecting gold jewelry incorporates both.
