  1. Ok. I was all set to spend money now, but guess I can wait. Till July at least. Hopefully something will be known by then.
  2. So if a guy was looking at buying a new gold detector for this summer should he maybe wait?
  3. For the Kruzer and Multi Kruzer I saw a listing of coils on a dealer site: 5” DD (KR13) 7.5” x 4” DD (KR19) 9.5” x 5” DD (KR24) 11” x 7” DD (KR28) 15.5” x 14” DD (KR40) 7” Concentric (KR18C) “Coils for Makro Kruzer and Multi Kruzer. Not compatible with Gold Kruzer.”
  4. The claim could possibly be invalid. But from personal experience, I have had my county misfile my paperwork for 2 years in a row before I caught it and it appeared I hadn't filed my assessment. Actually have had the BLM do it once too on a location notice. So I would do a little more in-depth search if you were planing on filing on it just to be safe.
  5. I got my HF elliptical coil and finally got it charged up and paired. I was hoping to take it out this weekend and compare it to a gold bug II but work issues have come up. I did do a quick air test and was easily able to get 2 inches on a .5 grain piece of gold running it at 74 Khz in Goldfield program. The 9" round HF wouldn't get it even rubbing it on the coil.
  6. After I read that I tried to cancel my order and wait on some other reviews, but it had shipped already. I should have it by Wednesday so I guess I will see.
  7. In the video for the Depar DPR 600 at the 7:15 mark he does a good demonstration of that too, all the way up to the 80 kHz coil.
  8. To be honest after reading the review I really don't see anything that makes me personally think I will buy one. Also in his review he said it didn't detect a 3 grain nugget piece of gold in his test garden, it would have been nice if he said how deep it was.
  9. It looked interesting, but don't you think it is a little small, I'd be panning my sample bags forever. And $50 for a pan? Wow. If it was $10 or $15 I might buy one to try as a clean up pan, but $50 is a little steep. I have a large collection of the latest and greatest gold pans but I still use my round Garrett pan 100% of the time.
  10. Just as important as finding where gold is, is seeing if the ground is under claim, private property, or under mineral withdrawal if government controlled. That is a great deal easier to do with a computer and internet.
  11. I have been gold detecting since the mid 1990's so it wouldn't stop me. It does make me wonder though if gold was $300 again would Minelab still be charging $8,000 for a gold detector.
  12. Is a SDC or GPZ capable of even detecting a solid gram piece of gold at 10 to 14 inches? I guess if they couldn't do that fairly often then with the gold I am working with I should probably just stick with a VLF. Maybe I'm expecting too much out of a PI to begin with.
  13. I actually had a little better luck with the TDI, but wasn't happy with the depth. I am hoping the new Minelab may perform well. I did finally see a video of someone air testing some gold nuggets with the XP Deus and new round HF coil, and thought he was getting good response from a .05 gram nugget. It has me thinking I may go with the new elliptical HF coil if it is sold with a detector.
  14. Steve, In mild ground will the SDC get me much more depth over what I have been getting with the Gold Bug II?
  15. Thinking about getting a new PI detector. I have had a Minelab GP3000 and Whites TDI. I really liked the GP3000 for the depth, but I quickly found out the area I hunt had too much EMI and the gold tends to be more porous and sometimes "sugary like", and the GP 3000 just couldn't see the gold. So I have pretty much just been using a Gold Bug II. Would really like a GPZ 7000 but don't think it will be possible. So I was looking at the Garrett ATX or Minelab SDC 2300. Reading reviews on the ATX it seems quite a few people complain about coil falsing when hitting objects with the coil. Does anyone know if this has ever been fixed by Garrett? Or have the new coils fixed it? Would the ATX detect this porous gold? It's been a long time since I bought a new detector and I haven't really kept up with any of it. Thanks.
  16. OK, got it. So with the Eureka Gold being discontinued will Minelab cut prices to get rid of stock? I always wanted to try one, how do they compare to GB2?
  17. I'd love for this to be as good as the GB2 also as mine is getting pretty beat up and ready to be retired. The one thing that makes me doubt it is when they say "ENTRY LEVEL".
