  1. I will not ever be switching over to a Deus 2 so that might be worth me giving one a try with my ORX
  2. Chase do you think two pieces of sticky backed Velcro 1 placed on each edge inside the compartment maybe one in the bottom would work to snug the ORX remote up, i am talking about the side of the Velcro that is the fuzzy side Just a thought, just trying to work out what could be done in my head to keep the ORX remote from Rattling around inside the compartment.
  3. Although I do not have a GPX 4500 I have been using that little Avantree Relay and the Avantree Torus with every detector I own other than the Legend which has built in aptX LL Bluetooth and that little Relay that @Wiggins sent and it works great no Lag and no cutting in or out, with my Axiom I have not noticed any kind of interference or background noise at all. I keep wondering what Avantree is cooking up since @Wiggins thread
  4. Absolutely would like for you to send me one and then I will let you know how it works with the ORX what do you need from me Steve
  5. will these work on the ORX also ?? Since getting the ORX I am constantly worrying about losing the controller so I end up removing it and sticking it in my shirt pocket I would like to try the one for the right handed people
  6. Honestly its about both for me i use it as an excuse to get out as well as to find stuff, would I love to dig a 1-10 ounce nugget without a doubt LOL who wouldn't, but it is not necessary, do I try to become proficient at metal detecting with each detector I own absolutely, if my lively hood depended on finding something of value I might look at things completely different, but again personally for me I really do not care if I find anything its just about being out and not sitting on my Butt in the house which drives me crazy, i figure if I get out and get my wife out we are at least getting some exercise, and trying to stay a little healthy.
  7. I am like @F350Platinum I do not spend money on different detectors thinking I will make a living from detecting or thinking I am going to recover some big find that I can sell to make a profit on or make me famous as a metal detectorist LOL, all the detectors I have purchased other than one I have found enough that they paid for themselves some a few times over, the reason I purchase a detector is to learn a new detectors differences and to just get out of the house and enjoy the great outdoors, which I could do with the very first detector I ever purchased, meeting different people and just enjoying being out detecting, it is not about the money for me but rather doing something I love to do, if I do find something all the better and is gravy on top of the adventure, did I need any of the detectors I have purchased to do what I love to do (Nope not Really) I can enjoy what I do just by looking around at the different landscapes and exploring different areas, the detectors just make it a little funner when exploring. When I do purchase a different detector I do try to learn as much as I can about that detector by talking to others and asking questions, some of that learning can only be done if you get out and swing that detector, but as far as purchasing a detector to try and make a living nope, its about learning new tech and things like that, but in reality what I have figured out is I could take the very first detector I ever purchased out with me and have just as much fun as I do with the newer so called technically advanced detectors, they all find metal some may do it a little better than others, but if I were to think about the money I have spent then it probably would not be near as fun anymore purchasing the different detectors.
  8. That order picker will sure make it easier for you Doc, glad you found something that will most likely make things much easier for you how stable is that order picker when its fully extended up with boxes and other stuff, plus a person
  9. Let us know how it works when you get one, sounds good if it actually does what they state
  10. Yep I am also on a list to get one, have already picked up some coils at great prices and a couple of power banks, just to get started with it when it gets here, the many coils already available and the price of it has me, even if i do not use it much after I get it it will make a great loaner PI for when friends come to visit
  11. I use the Quest X Pointer Max with the Magic Holster and I do the same thing when doing my frequency scan on the Axiom turn on the X pointer max and then perform the frequency scan, once the Axiom is finished with the frequency scan I just put the X pointer max in the Magic Holster which put the X pointer max in Stand by mode, have not had any issues of interference between either of them
  12. I worked in Bouse for a while when I was a heavy equipment operator, we were building the Second pumping station for the CAP (Central Arizona Project), was not much in Bouse when I worked there a Bar and a little convenience store, I was living in Parker at the time which was a 50 mile drive everyday or night to get to work Welcome to DP lots of friendly knowledgeable detectorist here on DP
  13. Well I will agree with you but here is the thing when someone is also purchasing a coil or had just purchased a coil, that cost rite at $400 that should be taken into account when quoting the price of something, that cost pennies to manufacture also Which I had just placed an order also for a coil for the Axiom and my order had not even shipped out yet, those three little pieces could have been put in a zip lock bag and thrown in the same box that the coil came in , for me personally a new coil bolt and the two rubber washers should be included in the cost of each new coil, and some manufactures do include the coil mounting hardware and some do not Garrett just happens to be one that does not, (which is ok) but those three little parts should not cost $33, I do not care how much of an inconvenience it is to ship little parts $33 is beyond ridiculous in my opinion it should be part of the service when you have spent a few thousand dollars on equipment from a manufacture again i do appreciate it that Rusty went ahead and sent me those so I have an extra one, luckily I have never lost a coil bolt or the two little rubber washers off of any of my detectors but there is a first for everything, and I am sure there are some that have.
  14. @Doc if you would Double the Length plus maybe 4-6 inches on your current utility belt it would most likely fit a wide variety of body sizes, as your utility belt currently is, I could not get it all the way around me even adjusting the Velcro pieces to make it as long as I could, I still needed another 18-20 inches of length on a single one, but the cost you have on those utility belts is cheap enough that purchasing two and clipping them together is a no brainer at least it was for me
  15. Only reason I will be picking one of these up is because I can choose the coils I want to use instead of being locked in to the six Garrett has put out for the axiom, if Garrett would come out with a few more coils for the Axiom or someone come out with a selection of coils, I most likely would not even be considering purchasing this new E1500 but it is what it is, my Axiom is not going any where either way in fact I will have my kids bury me with all my detectors in the casket LOL at least the ones I like, cause I do not have anyone to leave them too when I am gone so may as well carry them to the pearly gates with me.
  16. Hopefully by that time there will be thousands of the E1500s in peoples hands and Mine Lab wont be getting that money LOL
  17. I will PM you my Size Doc LOL
  18. the thing that shocked me is when I called Garrett and talked to Rusty, I ask him if they sold the Coil mounting hardware for the Axiom, Rusty stated yes they do but you probably will not like the price of them, LOL so I asked how much are those three little pieces, thinking they cannot be much over $5-$8, Rusty kind of laughed, and states those three little parts are like $33.99, I said are you kidding me or what and i said are they made of gold LOL Rusty stated that's what they are charging for that one bolt and two little rubber washers, (i could not believe it), then a few days later I get a package from Garrett and Rusty had sent me a set of the coil mounting hardware one bolt and two rubber washes, Needless to say I have those three little parts in my safe so I do not loose them
  19. I have ordered two Coils from Garrett for the Axiom both coils were delivered directly from Garrett and both came with no coil covers so both times i placed a call and told them I wanted those coil covers because it plainly states on their web site coil covers are included, couple days later I had my coil covers and was satisfied, emails get lost so a phone call is always best, to Garrett
  20. I would ask to see the Serial numbers on them, and also ask to meet in person so you can look at them, there is a lot of scams going on these days, so do your due diligence, if they refuse to provide you with the serial number or UN willing to meet you so you can look at them, I would steer clear of them
  21. I picked up a utility belt off of @Doc that works good although I had to get two of them and clip together to make it long enough to fit around my big BUTT LOL then I put a couple of pouches on plus my hand digger sheath and pin pointer
  22. Yep and I was going to order one from JP and when I went to submit the Order a pop up came up that stated they would not ship internationally and the one company that would ship internationally it was like $60 to get one sent to me so I ended up building my own, there are no hip sticks available in the U.S that I could find, although Doc did discover some on one of his shelves, which I had him to send me one The way the hip stick is designed it works in conjunction with a detecting harness like Docs Ultra Swingy Thingy the same way the ones JP sales and the same way the original inventor intended for them to work.
  23. I have been using Docs Ultra Swingy thingy which came with what Doc calls the Queegle or Quipple (just not sure which) Doc had a special going when I purchased mine that special included the Ultra Swingy Thingy, Quipple, Bungee system, Saga Swing Arm, and also a utility Belt I built my own Hip Stick, what I do is once I have the Ultra Swingy thingy on I then put the Utility belt on around my waist and over top of the suspender clamps that attach to your pants, then the Hip Stick I put together attaches onto that utility belt at my waist the top attaches to the rings on the Ultra Swingy Thingy, with the bottom of the hip stick attached to the utility belt it completely takes all the weight off your shoulders and puts the weight down on the utility belt, not pushing down on my pants at all had it not been for Docs inventions, plus the hip stick I made, and me being determined to not have to give up detecting all together, i would have had to quit detecting, because of injuries I had sustained in my younger days had it not been for me willing to try something new I would have been finished detecting, also with a little instruction from doc to change the way I swing a detector, as it was prior to the harness, Hip Stick, and saga swing arm, I would have been completely finished with my detecting hobby, because of the pain I was experiencing I could only muster about 45 minutes to an hour of detecting, now with everything from Doc and the Hip stick I can at least get out and detect for quite a few hours with out the pain stopping me, those things have made detecting fun again for me If and when Doc comes up with a newly designed hip stick I will dang sure give it a try, even though I built my own and it is working very well I will still try what ever Doc comes up with as far as a hip stick is concerned.
  24. @Wiggins Everything phrunt stated is the same as I have stated in PMs, I have also been testing out the Relay also as you know, again I have addressed my concerns with the short cable, which can be used by adapters and longer cables but, the fewer the connection points the less chance of things becoming disconnected, as @phrunt stated the little relay works great with no audio drop outs at all, the volume control on the relay is a big plus and works great, the size of the Relay is perfect because the size makes it easier for placement on a detector, The TC417 would also work but would be just a little harder for placement on some detectors, not all but some. @Wiggins thank you and Avantree again for continuing to try and produce a great product for us detectorist photo of relay mounted on the Axiom
