  1. Don't know who this writer is but man they need to learn the detectors they are writing about, nothing in this about the Legend is remotely close at all https://metaldetectingtips.com/nokta-makro-legend-vs-minelab-equinox-800/
  2. A 1.09 version from the factory should have already had the updated speaker in it, that is not good to hear at all
  3. Like the header reads Happy Fathers Day to all my Metal Detectin Brethren out there may the metal detecting Gods smile down on all of you that are fathers, and so the fatherless do not feel left out to you all also
  4. from Nokta Detectors the news of a 1.13 is fake news which I already knew
  5. Have not seen it until you posted it up should be a good series, especially for new people just starting out, look forward to the new episodes
  6. welcome on board Detector Prospector you will gain lots of useful info here, great group of members here
  7. No problem Jeff, I am not one to just sit back on my thumbs,I have to have an answer regardless whether I like that answer or not, Serious never said that the V80 and V60 would eventually hit the U.S Market but they did kind of hint that there was a possibility down the road that us in the U.S might eventually see them here (Here is Hoping) LOL, they also said they have been talking to Quest about the V60 and V80, so we shall see one thing I am also curious about, Quest is going to be sending the Q35 to the U.S for sale, so are they not worried about it also, this whole thing makes no sense to me they will bring a selectable single frequency detector, but not their Multi Frequency version to the U.S Market what is the differences are they still not opening themselves up to possible litigation with the Q35, (AND i AM NOT SAYING THERE ARE ANY LEGAL ISSUES), just what would be the difference
  8. Well you ask for confirmation from Serious detecting Chuck and so I called and Serious stated the same things I had already been told by three other dealers No V 80 or V60 will come to the U.S but one thing they also stated in a phone conversation there is a possibility later on down the road, Quest may bring them to the U.S but as of wright now everything is on hold with those two detectors coming to the U.S, and yes rite now it is only the U.S.
  9. I am loving mine for sure Keep it for a backup LOL glad you picked one up
  10. Agree, doesn't make it an easy pill to swallow though
  11. Well in my mind it has been confirmed, Andy Sabisch which is one of the U.S Testers of the V80 in a private conversation has pretty much confirmed that it is due to Mine Labs recent lawsuits against XP and Nokta and pretty much stated in that conversation that Quest did not want to deal with that crap, he also stated that quest is not in a suit, and just does not want to take the chance, that they would end up in litigation, so like I said Andy Sabisch pretty much confirmed the reason he even posted up on face book, what I am saying also two other dealers that sell Quest products, said they also received letters from Quest stating as much that is due to the recent Law Suits
  12. You can test mine all you want as long as you are willing to get one for me LOL
  13. I have asked a friend in Canada that happens to be a dealer, and he is checking with Quest, there is more than one way to skin a cat LOL if you are willing to pay the fees and the piper
  14. want to bring one for me also LOL
  15. Well just got a third confirmation the V60 and V80 will not be coming to the U.S Spoke to Andy Sabisch and he confirmed the news also, he did not sound to happy about it at all he just wasted a whole lot of time testing the V80 for Quest and then gets this news, not good, Andy also confirmed it is all due to Mine Labs sue happy nature and U.S laws where anyone can sue anyone for anything they want, its ridiculous in my opinion
  16. I do understand that phrunt but still a hard pill to swallow none the less I have a friend in China I will just get him to purchase one for me and pay the shipping to the U.S if I have to or decide to, and then wait for it to clear customs LOL then what could mine Lab do come after me for copy wright infringement
  17. well Jeff I have confirmation from two Quest dealers that I am friends with that told me they received the same letter from Quest confirming what was stated on Facebook by another dealer, I like you am very disappointed in this news, one of the dealers I had my name on a list he had started for the V80, I will not be purchasing anything else unless something changes, I only wanted the V80 because it seemed a little different from what I already have, was going to purchase the V80 just out of curiosity so to speak not that I need another detector, I need another detector like I need another hole in my head but we all know how addicting detectors are LOL, I am hoping this changes and the V80 does come to the U.S but at this point I do not believe it will. not sure if us in the U.S could purchase one from across the pond and have it shipped here, but what would the cost be and what would the shipping be probably way more then it would be worth, I also do not understand why these Law suits only affect the U.S
  18. Just talked to a dealer on the Quest group on Facebook he received a dealer letter from Quest that said there will be no V80 or V60 sent to any dealer in the U.S this really sucks as I really wanted to give a V80 a swing I understand Quest reluctance to send anything to the U.S especially if its Multi Frequency with Mine Lab wanting to sue everyone.
  19. Already done LOL, I just could not pass on the TRX and the Etrac, so I called him this morning and its on its way
  20. Thanks everyone for the replies I figured for the prices it was worth taking the chance, told the person I would also take his Etrac, just to good of a deal to pass on on both, if I do not like either I figure I can at the very least make my money back and maybe a little more phrunt I have always wanted to try one of the TRX pointers so this gives me the opportunity to at least try one, I know it is going to have to work pretty good for me to relinquish using my X Pointer Max pin pointers especially the new one with the Magic Holster again thanks everyone that replied
  21. To answer your question yes if you set the bottle cap rejection to high, it can cost you good targets I experimented with it a little just to see at what point you start to loose good targets and for me personally I decided to leave it set to zero which is no bottle cap reject, as phrunt said the more filtering you set can cost you good targets
  22. Was offered a new in box TRX for what I think is a great price from the prices I have seen when you can find one, $112 Shipped to me from a friend in AZ he has several, also offered me their Etrac for $150, because he purchased a Nox 900 I have always wanted to try the TRX but never would pull the trigger when I would find one because everyone of them I have ever seen listed for sale the price always seemed way high to me but for $100 I am willing to give one a try since its new in box the Etrac is in really nice working condition and I am thinking of taking it also LOL I know everything is Legit so not worried there at all, if I do not like the TRX i will offer it up for sale at the same price.
  23. the X Pointer Max does give you the ability to turn off the discrimination, if you want to it can be ran with the discrimination on or off, personally I like having the Disc on
  24. Actually after purchasing my first X Pointer Max I liked it so much I ended up purchasing the 2023 model X Pointer Max with the Magic Holster, personally from using both the older version and the new version with the magic holster I like the new 2023 model even more, a few of the things I really like about the new 2023 model I can run the new version on boost sensitivity now with no or very little falsing, I also like that now I can leave it on and re holster it and the new version goes into stand by mode ready to pin point when you remove it from the holster, as far as the buttons they are still hard to push but now with the magic holster that is no longer an issue. Both versions are great pin pointers but the new 2023 model is just a little better in my opinion on a couple of things like not having to fiddle with the button to turn it on and off and now it can be ran at max sensitivity other than those two things both the old version and new 2023 version are basically the same i purchased the 2023 model from Charlene and Andy Sabisch, I can provide you with their phone number if you want to call them I believe the name of their store is https://www.treasurehuntingoutfitters.com/?fbclid=IwAR03mQol7QI3TgwIaxvRseK5dTXYaTeWreo7zASDiMkQkfLRbH-WmG09iNw they are in Pennsylvania now
  25. There is a longer middle shaft available for purchase that adds an additional 4 inches in over all length to the Legend, it is aluminum, not sure the new carbon fiber middle shaft will come in a longer version though I did add the aluminum longer middle shaft to one of my legends and it worked great https://nwdetectors.com/products/longer-middle-shaft-aluminum-simplex-simplex-whp?variant=32701888856118&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5aGtqJCN_wIVowhlCh2mPAJqEAQYAiABEgLg3fD_BwE
