  1. AFAIK, the kruzer was a refined, waterproofed Impact platform, and the Anfibio was a Kruzer with more features. There was always overlap in the two companies' machines, I'm pretty sure the racer platform was based on the Fors Core, just put in a more typical/ergonomic package.
  2. I never liked the multi Kruzer. The audio was always very scratchy and unpleasant to my ears. It also was much more emi sensitive than other detectors I'd used. The shaft was also very wobbly, which would drive me nuts. There was no ID stability whatsoever in my ground either, to the point where ferrous/non ferrous was about all the info I'd get.
  3. I was refering to the frequencies processed side of things. Whites was always straightforward about what was actually processed, and in the case of the V3i actually showed the different frequency responses. How many frequencies transmitted is almost meaningless due to the endless harmonics...
  4. Probably because that would require companies to be straightforward about which frequencies their machines use....
  5. Given that the T2 actually has an all metal mode, I'm guessing that honestly. At least for hitting the bullets, D2 for better id accuracy for the ones it does hit.
  6. I primarily use an Equinox, but I keep my old AT Pro as a backup/when I want to use it. I'm way more comfortable with the AT's audio, and will often use it to scout a site first before I use the Equinox. I wish I could have the AT's audio with the Equinox's performance, but oh well.
  7. A v3i in a lighter package with proportional audio would be epic. Very excited to see what happens with this.
  8. Nope. The V3i is either one of the 3 frequencies, or one of two multi frequency options that both ran all 3 but with different signal processing. I'm not aware of any detector that allows you to choose the frequencies in multi frequency mode.
  9. Even a biased report would be better than nothing, especially if there is a video showing things like the audio on actual targets.
  10. I hope that some people who will actually evaluate it critically get one too, not just the Garrett only people.
  11. This is assuming that it performs comparatively to the minelabs though. Some actual field testing is required before that assumption can be made. I hope that it does perform at least as well as the minelabs, because then I have an excuse to get one 🙂
  12. Yes, it would make sense to have a waterproof high end version (maybe a gti replacement) come out in the relatively near future. Another high end multi-frequency metal detector apart from minelab and whites would be super interesting. Another unrelated thing that I'm curious about is how many, and which frequencies the multo mode uses.
  13. Now that they have simultaneous multi frequency tech, I wonder how long until they make an actual top of the line detector to replace the GTI.
  14. Just said he expects $492 for the price with headphones. Garrett Ace Apex metal detector with Z-Lynk wireless headphones
  15. Curious as to how it will compare to the AT series. On paper it looks better in every way, so I wonder if an AT upgrade is coming soon?
  16. I don't see any mention of it being waterproof though, which is somewhat disappointing. Hopefully I just missed that.
  17. It's simultaneous multi frequency. This could be interesting. Garrett Ace Apex Data & Reviews Garrett Ace Apex multifrequency metal detector - new for 2020
  18. I remember a lot (relatively speaking) of talk about this detector from a few years ago, and then just silence. Has it actually been released yet?
  19. My three favorite finds of 2019 are a US civil war belt buckle, what I believe to be a US civil war bridal rosette, and a 1776 Spanish 1 reale coin.
  20. I've ruined ( removed the detail) from a good many old copper coins just by using water and a toothbrush, I learned not to use water the hard way. I've found that the way to keep the most detail is dry cleaning with a toothbrush and toothpick to remove the dirt. Wheats I just hit with a brass bristled brush because they aren't going to be worth much, and I just want them to look decent. Silver I just rinse off with water.
  21. Based on my limited CTX knowledge, the V3i should be similar for turf coin hunting, and better for relic hunting. I think an Equinox will outdo both in sites with lots of iron trash. The V3i is the only non Minelab that has both simultaneous multi frequency, and target ID information beyond vdi numbers. The 3 frequency pinpoint was pretty awesome.... Now I want mine back lol.
