Not at all. Science is a methodology for getting to truth, nothing more. So far it is overwhelmingly the best method we have. It is far superior to edicts, guesswork, and beliefs. Look around you at all the man-made items within arm's reach and consider all the science behind those items. It is truly amazing. Far more amazing than any beliefs in paranormal powers. Paranormal powers make for cool movies, but are otherwise useless; if they were real the world would be a very different place.
Things we be amazed by today is old technology for the future..
And things scientist are discovering have been there already for thousands of years in our bible.
Science is that point where human feel in need to figure out how humans came to life and came up with the silly Evolution theory.

Science is what humans wants us to believe about life.. in a Human possible way. .
This is why i dont listen to science because i could make my own point about things without the need of someone in a website telling me his point of view.
Just cause there isnt any valuable informacion and many people wanting to use maps and put gold and all sort of things to increase there chances.
I could for a fact be eye blinded.
And a piece of gold be burried and walk over it and the rods will cross right where the gold was burried.
Now i cant tell you out in the field 100 % what is causing the rods to cross just cause of the fact as you could see they are used to find different kinds of resourses.
Even probably a water vein, some kind of mineralized ground or a burried water pipe.
These are energy that happends behind the naked eye that we cant see but feel it when in use of the rods.
I would be dredging and i like to use the rods to get a feel of what its telling me and see how i could use it as for my advantage.
But again im still learning and still not being ignorante to the fact it amaze me a cheap piece of equipment supply me with such data.

I have heard of lots of findings here with rods..and there is no way someone could say it doesnt work.
Unless you expecting a false sense of reality of its capabilitly.
Just like i know many who swore there detectores could locate Deep gold deposit with their metal detector.
I see no reason of comparing it to some metal detector that cost 1000s and 1000s of dollares.
By far if people read the forum or others sites there is something behind them for a fact.
Now everyone need to try it out for their self and see how they could use it effectly for there own. No need to be ignorant and then bashing something you didnt even tested it for a month straight.
You buy a metal detector and spend years trying to find gold and many havent found their first piece. Does that mean that the metal detectors dont work ?
Just need to test and test and learn what creates its effect and try to use it for your own mining experience.

Why look for gold when you can get between $100,000 to a million dollars by just showing up and proving it works? Never happens, and that’s all I need to know. There are various excuses for that, which are exactly, that. Excuses. That’s my opinion, it no doubt differs from others, and that’s fine. My preference is everyone use dowsing to look for gold and leave me to my detectors.

I have tried it but its not like many say it works. . The rods are moved by hot rocks and heavy minerilization and gold.
Basically Anything that its metalic.
I have also used it in dredging and noticed i was able to locate virgen ground in a river with the rods.
They wont active where we have dredged before.
I marked an area and dredge it and we continue to find virgen ground in a paystreak.

Those are Garrett promotional photos - Gerry did some AT Gold advertising with Garrett and these guys are using that stuff.
Minelab have been the major brand and believe they dont need to spend probably extra cash advertising since their products has spoken for itself and will continue to do so...

I dont believe we are with Minelab. They are always innovative. That is why they ARE a step ahead of the pack. No doubt about that.

One common practice is.. lunch technology slowly to make it produce the most out of it..
They have already what is going to be the next detector when they lunch one..
As soon gold and detectors become more dead i bet you they would lunch something that goes deeper then all detectors available today.. and sell it for more cash then the GPZ.
-
I dont see how this detector could be any better then the currently PI machines in the field. You cant even use aftermarket coils meaning you are limited to the 2 only coils.
I also dont see it being better then the GPZ..
We are being feed old technology everytime by these companies and we always fall into buying them all the time.

I think principedeleon may just have saved some folks a lot of money and frustration. Just need to use the pause button..
Not shown are the paper topographical maps, map books and history books.. small library focused on Victorian goldfields and history. Lots of titles are autographed copies. Decades in the making, starting in the 1980's and ongoing. Never too old to learn something new. This hobby combines my love of reading, the great outdoors and electronic gizmo's.. All the best.
I need me a collection like that.. these books which are hard to find should be free to the public.. or there should be a webpage with all these books information put into for the masses. Everyone is promoting metao detectors and finds but very little information on how to detect while looking for the metal

Austrailia its that sweet..they sure have some interesting grounds i wouldnt care detecting days in those kind of conditiones..

Metal detectors seem to loose depth as the ground gets more mineralized.
Dark red clay with lots of black sand and hot rocks..
This would probably be a ground that it havent been tested on but having atleast 8 feet of depth will be nice anyway ..
Just wonder what a patch of gold ranging of a 1- 3 gram gold nuggets look like.
If the machine could visualize im sure its a winner for me.. we search deeper ground in the forest areas.

i had a GM and found gold with it and sold it to buy a QED. i have'nt found nothing yet with the PI. with the GM anything on the iron side i would walk right over it ...hot rock, ground noise and iron..
ima have to buy a VLF now...

Hello!
The area I found these two nuggets in is actually a known and producing patch that I have been exploring and observing. I personally have found just over 10 nuggets from this deposit ranging from multi-gram to sub-gram, and I am also aware of a few other detectorists who have pulled many nuggets from the very same location.
However! I am not completely convinced yet as to what type of deposit this may be... Sometimes the gold and the ground suggest it is a high and dry ancient channel that has been concentrated over time on this hilltop and in a nearby gulch. But other times the gold alone says it isn't far from its original source. Maybe it's both!!! I have yet to completely explore the possibility of a nugget producing lode on this hill of mine because there is plenty of placer for me to exploit currently. Between detecting and drywashing, I can assure you this is absolutely a Gold Deposit!
Like I said originally though, I have much exploration still to do! 3 acres can sound relatively small, but when trying to thoroughly explore a very remote 3 acres by yourself, that relativity scale certainly tips towards the large side of perception.
Here's a little more confirmation that this is indeed a Gold Deposit:
Yes !! 3 acres is a large deposit for me. I havent really been using my Metal detector since i dont have much knowledge in where to detect. I have been to shallow gold deposits here but most of the paygravel is like above a pipe clay. Thats the best sign i have learned to find shallow ground.
But im looking forward to buying some books to learn more. .
I have seen people speak about searching where the hillslopes ends and the benches start.. Its the only place i didnt focus detecting in my metal detecting experience.
-
I wonder why is it people detect here and there and just find one nugget here and another there.
Could it be you walking away from a large gold deposit that is just too deep for a metal detector find it. ??
Im aware that where you have found gold there is always more to be found.
I dont believe finding a nugget or two be called a Gold Deposit.

If it was so easy with a metal detector then many in the Philippines would not be mining in deep mudholes such as in the following.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8psB-o-er5k
Well we all know there is shallow and real shallow Gold .. And there is deeper deposits.
The geology of every different place is different..
Here we have deeper gold and we also have very shallow deposits.
Nothing like austrailia but shallow enough to unweed and pick nuggets from the dirt.

Don't worry about the 300 GM nuggets getting passed thru the sluice, they never actually get passed the hand of the dredge operator to even have a chance of being sent to the tailing pile!!!!!
The grizzle bars did not work, they trapped the rocks under and would not release them. I did have success with a sump set up that fed to a small 2 inch dredge but let that go due to the fact it was complex and negated the benefit of a light weight sub surface dredge.
I don't believe I lost any gold that had size to it. All the nuggets got caught in the first or second riffle, the fines are another story. Basically the sub surface dredge is a poor choice for an area that has lots of fine gold. Salt gold or thin flat flakes etc. but can do really well on the chunky nugget stuff, bird shot on up. Just keep in mind not to hog the material and overload the riffle tray, that's where I get goofed up.
I did add a river sluice behind my box at one point and the extra box being wider did help but back to more complex.
My advice is to add miners moss over the ribbed matting and nothing more needs to be done. The rest is a diminishing return situation.
Keep us posted on what you end up with. Also would love to see a pic of your subbie🙂
The 300G copper nugget i found it dredging with the same sluice box.. Found it in the gold pan.
But we ran a test running the nugget first then dredging as usual but when we went to the sluice box it was gone. .
A sluice box need to be made to trap everything that is metal. Specially heavy items atleast..
Ima test these taller riffles to see if i could get it to work properly.
-
Thanks ya for the heads up.
The only thing ima do is then putting in some Taller aluminum riffles system ima put into the sluice box.
Hopefully im able to run it wide enough to make the sluice work properly.
I have bought some 1 3/4 angle iron in aluminum and a piece of 2" x 1" angle iron which ima reduce the lip to about 1/2 " ..
Where we dredge we are normally hogging lots and lots of in hard packed material and we aint seeing everything we running up the hose. So is not more like snipping is more like hoping more we find something in the sluicebox.
The bedrock is normally soft and we are dredging up everything leaving the bedrock clean.
I hope the higher riffles help the larger gold find a resting place.
We also have lots of hot rocks. . i mean lots of it. Of all sizes..
But making the sluice longer with deeper riffles maybe i could make enough space for everything or atleast most of the heavies to settle.
-
Hello everyone on here.
Im looking on upgrading my Subbie sluice box into a more efficient one.
I have been looking into ideas of what others been doing on here and any suggestion of how should i design a larger Gold nugget trap.
I see most sluice boxes with tiny riffles and i could just imagen a larger nugget go run straight out the back.
I tested my sluice with a almost 300 gram copper nugget and i lost it.
Now we are trying to upgrade the sluice because where we dredge we could find larger nuggets.
Im thinking of placing a section with taller riffles like in the picture with the rails only going half way or 3/4 of the sluice and leaving the same size riffles or making it bit larger at the end of the box for the larger nuggets.

That sounds very similar to Victoria Aust. back in January this year. Now it is August and the worms are drowning in my lawn and suicide on the paths, due to all the rain we have got this winter. The farmers are happy now the drought has broken
Here is rainning but the rivers aint seem to be ever what they was used to be. .
I believe in a couple years the way i could have been monitoring things going to wayy worstt.. Rivers will turn into creeks and creeks into drywash.
Sad but true.
-
Nope the world is actually going trough some changes. The rivers around here are at the lowest it ever been. The seasons have lost their track and the heat is having a record high.
But no one is actually taking about it.

Its amazing how we used to read about this a long time ago and now we are seeing it behold our eyes.
But a lot of people seem to still be ignorant of everything still seeing whats going on.
-
Okay i probably over did it because he probably knows that. But all im trying to say a Gold Detector to be called A Gold detector needs to just find gold. Some people have a false sense of the reality of these machines without understanding how much junk they are finding and with a more " advanced " Having to dig more Trash Or all Metallic objects.. I have switch from a VLF to a PI for couple inches of depth and now i wish i had discrimination.
-

Yes i have used a couple MD from VLF to a PI QED. What i was trying to say is that the most advance GPZ GPX or QED couldnt be used with discrimination which are dig em all detectors. VLF can discriminate Iron pretty good. Just not in deep ground so well but after some soil is removed it locks solid on object before digging it out. But still there is a lot of trash that you could be faced with. Anything with a aluminum wrap like a toothpaste is going to sound like gold.
So currently there is no detector out here that gets the gold without digging unwanted targets.. And if soo let me knoww. !!

Bush Food
in Detector Prospector Forum
Posted
We here cook ALWAYS and sometimes find wild Yam out in the woods.
But we normaly take raw food with very little process food.
Plaintains , green banana or yuca for dinner or breakfast
And rice and beans or saldines or herring.
Eatting a whole lot of process food will only get you sick and make you weak..
Cooking and eatting out in the bush is part of keeping healthy and taking a break from whatever you are doing in the day. So enjoy it !!
