  1. Gold Ryder.     I don't use a 'trash can lid' and haven't since the nineties. Settings always depend on the particular area being detected, but Bogene settings work well on a 4000. Threshold off and every thing maxed. (where possible)

Phrunt, with all due respect, you only have experience with fly poop, so not much point in you using a big coil. You have over a dozen detectors and God knows how many coils to hunt fly poop!!! Incredible! must drive your missus nuts.

  2. Some people need to have that gold fix regularly, so they opt for the small coils. I couldn't give damn about fly poop gold, so don't care if I come home with nothing for weeks. Mind you, I will dig small gold if the signal is there, but I sure don't go looking for it, plus a big coil covers so much more ground.

That 25" NF coil is as light as a feather, so can swing it all day.

  3. Valens Legacy, I was referring to idiots in Australia and not on this forum. Except for the odd spelling or grammar stumble most folk here seem to be fairly rational and level headed, certainly more so than other sites I could mention.

If you keep your moonshine in glass it will not improve with age. Wine will improve with age in glass until it reaches it's peak in quality and then go into decline. Whiskey will only age in wood.

  4. GS5000, that canned fish looks disgusting, and I have managed to find the odd colour on my pasta and rice diet, so I shall give your culinary advice a miss thanks.

You are right about my country going down the dunny. We bought the maps from you.

PS the correct spelling for the second application is....there, not their.

PPs Give up the smokes. Not good for your health.

  5. For short prospecting trips a few sourdough rolls (buns) and cheese and fruit are adequate. For longer trips (fortnight or so) sausages and chops (cutlets) which are used in the first few days and from then on its vegetarian, mainly pasta and rice based dishes, with whatever vegetables will last the distance.

A few beers and a bottle of my home made whiskey are also included. Naturally plenty of water from my rainwater tank.

  6. The problem is that idiots outbreed those with a modicum of intelligence and are easily influenced by the avalanche of the worst of America (moronic television programs and junk food). We are becoming just an extra state of the USA and a puppet country that does what Uncle Sam dictates. Having been to America I have seen some of the poorer areas that are third world, with trash everywhere.

As an example we loyally follow the USA into each unjust and unwinnable war that our master commands, which other countries are smart enough to avoid.

There are some great intelligent people in America that have contributed to world betterment, but don't kid yourself, there is a dark and dangerous, not very smart aspect as well, that the less intelligent of Australians identify with. We have perhaps more that our share of idiots here.
