  1. And??? Inquiring minds want to know and all that jazz
  2. Nice digs for sure! Wetting my appetite for beach detecting!! Do you sell your finds? HH, Cal
  3. Tom be curious to see how you like it!! My EQ800 and Multi Kruzer aren't going anywhere any time soon.
  4. Thanks for the tips, I'll set this up, might be interesting to see how switching between Field1 and Field2 does. Usually when I find these mystery parts, I guess it's some kind of gun related thing, and 9 out of 10 times, it turns out to be true, so I'll guess it's a gun related relic
  5. Nice hunt!! I need to start beach hunting, now that most of my sites are grassed in, the beach is starting to look pretty good. HH, Cal
  6. Thanks, their out there, just gotta get your coil over it. Tom, he went a few miles away to try another site that's almost always grassed in and oddly this time it wasn't, so he gave it a go, and didn't get much. He's so plugged into his Exp2, I don't think he'll switch over to the Nox until I give him a good beat down with it, and I think I still have a lot to learn on it until that day comes....but it's coming
  7. Thanks, it was an exciting find for such a stingy site. So if you put a customized search mode into your User Profile you can simply push that button to switch to it, check your target, and push it again to return to the previously used search mode? Sounds like something I need to do, would be easier then slogging through the settings menu. HH, Cal
  8. The mystery item is threaded, I just verified that. Any idea what it might be? The seated dime was over 9" deep, the hole was deeper then my carrot top. I need to try some other modes, I keep telling myself I will, yet I stick to Field 2, and I keep finding stuff, so I don't know, maybe I'm missing out, maybe not
  9. Tom and I got out for a few hours after work yesterday to one of his "back-pocket" spots that's been well worked over the years. It's getting stingy with targets, but I still managed to get a few keepers, including the oldest seated dime I've found, as my previous oldest seated was an 1840 half dollar, and an 1840 seated half dime. Hunted in Field 2, auto GB, noise cancel, 22 gain, 50 tones, multi-freq, default settings for everything else. If anyone has any idea what this do-hickey is, I'd greatly appreciate an ID. It's about an inch long, and the ID of the circle at the top is about the diameter of a U.S. nickel: Big ole piece of lead was super deep (and super disappointing at the reveal), two old pieces of green copper, we find at Spanish era sites. The large piece is 4.75" long, surprised that wasn't dug up long ago, but just goes to show that there's still potential for large silver, or relics to still be there. Nice old late 1700's/early 1800's flat button: And the grand finale - lol This seated dime was deep, came in as a high tone whisper, and even the pinpoint audio was weak/soft. I've been fooled with plenty of deep iron that sounds similar, but this sounded good enough to go for, took several shovel loads of dirt to get to it, and finally the pin-pointer was sounding off as I saw a dark black disc fly by in the dirt movement. I felt around for it, and located it, and before looking at it I felt it to see if it had a loop as I suspected it was going to be a button, no loop, OK, time to check it out and it was an 1838-O seated dime!! Thanks for looking and HH, Cal
  10. I use my pinpoint almost every time, and it seems to work fine, except once and a while I notice the volume fades out....I think it detunes to something and fades, so I just move the coil away from the target area and re-pinpoint and it works fine. The volume fade is more like a quirk/bug then anything and not really too annoying IMO. When the PP works, it works great, spot on X marks the spot IMO.
  11. I've dug two war nickels so far, and I too noticed that 35% war nickels TID about the same as a regular US nickel. Kind of strange, every machine I've used in the past, they TID more into the lower end of silver
  12. If Minelab was wise, they'd sell smart coil chips to, and provide the winding specs to CoilTek, as it's clear that Minelab doesn't have the capacity to do much at the moment, so why make the consumer suffer waiting on their inability to manufacturer at capacity?
  13. I'm with you on that one...works fine as it is, and I can wait, but it would be a good coil, have really enjoyed that coil on my Racer2 and every other detector I've had that coil form factor on.
  14. If nothing else, hopefully they allow CoilTek to make some accessory coils. Sure would be nice if Minelab talked...shared anything.....about plans for the Equinox.
  15. If you do a search, there's already been several aftermarket BT headphone/earplug threads.
  16. It's a no-brainer indeed, I'd much rather have it then the 6" coil any day of the week.
  17. We’ve been asking for a closed loop elliptical coil like the GM1000 6" x 10" coil since the Equinox and it’s coils were announced. Minelab make it happen! Not only would I be the first one in line to order it, but I can pretty much guarantee it’ll be your most ordered optional Equinox coil. Relic hunters and prospectors alike will have to have this coil. Just ensure it’s as deep, with equal or better separation capabilities as the stock 11” DD coil.
  18. The button layout is superior to the stock wireless phones. $65 isn't bad from amazon, amazon prime gets them here same day for me, with ultra easy return privileges if I don't like them, so not a bad deal for a few bucks more then Aliexpress, and like you say, still half the cost of buying them from ML.
  19. Responsibility definitely pays better, but truth be told, some of my best memories in life, are from when I had the least. Not that I'd want to go back, just ironic how that works.
  20. The Kruzers have an optional underarm battery pod that would likely result in a well balanced detector for water hunting, but of course it adds weight (although it wouldn't likely be much IMO).
  21. Great hunt! The next time I'm relic hunting and get some iffy signals, I need to check it in other search modes. So far I've mainly been using Field2, only because it works so well, but it's time to test out some other modes when I get one of those hmmmmm targets. HH, Brian
  22. That's awesome! I haven't tied the door knock scene (yet), but Pink Floyd, oh hell yeah
