I was told that the looser tolerance  was to allow some sand to be inhaled. If you tightened the tolerance, sucking dirty water was a no no.

New design would not allow any adjustment.(and maybe you can't inhale any sand?)

I know increasing the pressure really increased the sucking at the business end.  You had to watch the fingers!

I believe that "plastic cuff" you are referring too on the P-180 dictates the pressure of the pump?

I had one P-180 setup that I had a pressure gauge on the outlet side of the pump. (4" dredge)

New, I think it was about 38 lbs. of pressure.  I filed off the "stop ring" on the plastic inlet fitting and tapped it in towards the impellor until I felt it start to drag.  I now had 54 lbs. of pressure at the outlet.

Bingo!

I disabled "Shockwave Flash Object" in Internet Explorer and it is working!

Years ago, I took 72 nuggets/pickers totaling almost 1/2 oz. out of a two foot area. Most likely a "sluice robber" clay ball.

That looks like a normal heel to a boot.... What does the bottom side look like? Are there hob nails in it?

I always had good luck finding jewelry with the original Minelab Sovereign. Of course, it was multi frequency and had notch capabilities.

It's funny that you would think just because a claim is filed a "red flag" is raised.  Because a claim is filed, you now know that it is "off limits" to prospecting.  Not a good place to go.

I once thought I might join the GPAA so I called their office to see if they had any claims in my area.  Their response was that I needed to join to find out.  I might "trespass" on their claim if they told me.?????   Same line of thinking... I don't understand it.

I've had claims for almost 45 years.  I have a place to go that hasn't been worked out by club members every year.
