I believe my father retired in the 80's. We still have the house beside the county shop at the Forks and one of my sons bought the house next door to that house.. My younger brother used to work for the FS. I went to school at the Forks the same time as Glenn McBroom was going to school at Sawyers. You ought to figure me out from that

Strick... Yes, it has been improved. Pretty much the same width but now a combination of chip and seal and asphalt. No dust!

Detecting Coins & Relics On Mining Claims
LipCa replied to deathray's topic in Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics
I thought arrowheads and coins "on the surface" were exempt under the Antiquities Act? At least that's what it states. Unless they are associated with a "recognized site". I think bullets are listed too? Maybe newer laws? -

LipCa replied to Jonathan Porter's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Nice piece! -
After looking at it close, it was hit twice with a digging tool. Probably while digging it out of a crevice.

My Take On The Minelab GPZ 7000
LipCa replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
A detector that you have to "warm up" for 15 to 20 minutes?? I thought you only had to do that to older(prior to the 60's)vehicles..... -
That BLM ground could be claimed by others??? Unless it's been withdrawn from mineral entry?

GPZ 14 Coil For Minelab GPZ 7000
LipCa replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
On the "old" PI's, it appears there is a transmit and receive loop. Left and right? Or, is it just noting the frequencies? What is the braided loop on the GPZ coil? -
Highbanker Cleanout Opinions
LipCa replied to gambler's topic in Gold Panning, Sluicing, Dredging, Drywashing, Etc
If your box is working correctly, clean up when the top 3" is full of gold. Black sands should work themselves out of the riffles. If your riffles fill up with BS, you got problems. I've seen areas where there was so much BS that 2 gallons of material would fill the riffles. I finally had to use a Gold Cube to deal with the BS. -

Must have something wrong with this one? It beeped all the time and stronger when it went over something... -
A Detector For Mom In Law

Does the Ace still go Beep, Beep, Beep all the time? Gave one to my mother and it drove her crazy. She was used to the old Whites coinmaster. She put it(the Ace) in the closet and never used it. -
New Mid Range Water Proof PI....When?
LipCa replied to jjm861's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
Just took my ATX up in the hills today. It got soaking wet but still gave me a nice little piece of 1/10 oz. -
Nice find Ron. I'd be hitting that area hard... You're right Mike, I found a 1834 $5 last year and didn't notice that...

Last time I was in Old Town, there were so many "street bums" begging that it was not enjoyable. They were in front of almost every store. How were they this time of the year? There is some interesting history there though.
