I love it! Looks like one of the mini golf putters for LITTLE kids.... Full size club head, full size handle, just super short shaft! I took the middle section out of my MXT Pro to hunt under a crawl space once. It was funny lookin too, but made detecting possible. I had tried with the full length detector and it was just too cramped under there.

Holy Cow! Now that's RAD! Way to go finding the spot!

Saw on the news last night;
Tuna Crabs on California beaches. They typically like warm water, so an invasion like this instills to them (science & weather folks) that the warm tropical water is following the El Nino trend!
The last tuna crab invasion this crazy was 1997! Woot! Nuggies may be rollin this winter

That Brochure Steve shared shows 95 kHz operating frequency. i'm not an expert, but i'm putting 1 and 1 together. On all company websites/pamphlets, in the "specifications" tab, under "Frequency" they say their PI machines use "Pulse Induction". For VLF detectors, there is a frequency # kHz, right?
So i'd guess that since the brochure that Steve originally posted say this Xpointer runs at 95kHz, i'm concluding and concurring that it's a VLF not PI?

Well, I'm fairly new to detecting, and have recently just found my first US Silver coins....
Actually, when i took my buddy here for the first time, he found an eagle buckle close by, but SOLD it for $130!
I thought he found the only Eagle buckle in my "hot spot" and he went and sold it! Figured I'd never see another one!

EVERY one of those rigs is SWEET! maybe cause i know they are all for detecting/prospecting! These pics make me excited to get "out there" more than pictures of gold make me want to get out!

I just have me ole 2003 Toyota Tacoma v6 trd extra cab. She is beat up, but that helps SQUEEZE down the ATV trails!

This site is the BEST! Thanks guys! I'm pretty sure I understand everything I've read, and I'll read it again tomorrow. I have and use the 6x10 DD but my hunting area/s of late are just TRASHY! Even with the 4x6, just chatter fest on my headphones! I'm finding decent stuff at those relatively shallow depths, so with the advice here, I'll just keep at it and figure out how to tune my machine and myself to hear deeper! I am not in the market for a new machine, but had to make sure the consensus wasn't "MXT? You're screwed!" LoL. I figured that wasn't the case and you guys confirmed that. Basically trash, small coil, and heavy mineralization are physical factors limiting my depth, and my settings and inexperience are a major factor also!? Your guys excellent info coupled with Rons recent finds are keeping me stoked!

What kind of machines do you guys use in California?!? I am running an MXT Pro. I am up in Tuolumne County gold country, and i'm pretty sure the mineralization is heinous! RED dirt, HOT rocks, and Lots of rusting metal mixed in in many areas. In the trashy areas, i SWEAR i get about 2" depth on coins, about 3-4" on padlocks. I mostly use the 4x6 shooter DD to try and see between the trash. Is my gain (between 8-10) maybe TOO high? I'm "scared" to run much lower gain in fear of missing stuff. BUT, i just need to try a different gain setting, then re-scan an area that I personally have "worked out" with my current settings. Then see if my "new" settings can find more/deeper stuff!?!? (BTW it took me 2 years to save up to go from an ACE250, to this $900 MXT setup) so I know... a $2500 CTX3030 or $1500 eTrac would probably work better than tweaking my MXT (haha BUT, i can't afford that right now!

Yes, i'm kinda a "noob"! I got the MXT in March for nuggets and relics/coins. Got a nugget, then got busy for the summer. So I've really only done about 20 +/- hours of real relic/coin hunting.
I am sure a CTX3030 or eTrac would be a significantly better detector. BUT, I don't want to be one of those "I ALWAYS need a better detector" kinda folks. I believe what i've heard "You NEED to learn your detector, don't just keep buying new/better detectors because YOU can't figure out your previous detector!" BUT, if MXT gets 5-6" and CTX3030 gets 10-12" based on the machine and technology, well, that's just life!

Yeah. I wish we could get all the details. I OBVIOUSLY don't know how i would go about dealing with a 75 ounce nugget! I would like to think after securing it safely, i'd divulge a little more information. You know... he can tell the "secrets" at any point in the future. but if he told now, he can't take it back!
I actually thought about going to this auction to see the nugget today, then linger at the SF Giants world series this afternoon.
BuuuT, Kagin sold this thing on Friday! Oh well.
I have spent at LEAST an hour looking at those 3 pictures above!..."the dig"! 
It's freaking mind boggling seeing that thing expose!!!
I seriously am still hoping to ever find a 1-ouncer, and i know that truly isn't very likely!

So Steve. The MXT Pro is my main, basically only, detector. Have you ever put on a 4x6 dd shooter coil for smaller nuggets? The area where the above nugget was found has been fairly well worked with my 6x10 DD. I'm wondering if you've ever nugget hunted with a 4x6 and what were your thought's on PROS/CONS, techniques?

Kind of a re-post, but I dug this 5.5 gram nugget exactly one week after I bought my MXT pro. Then springtime got me busy with my garden for the summer, so have only been out a couple more times. I feel like my local bedrock would be more suited for a GoldBugII, or GMT. But my area is loaded with gold rush history, so I wanted to get a good multi purpose machine also. And I hope to find some tailings with nugget potential that my MXT will thrive in. pictured on the White's catalog.

I'm within a couple miles of some of the best pockets in THE WORLD!!!

Ok Yesh, 16-to-1 in Allegheny district are THE BEST.....

but the local Tuolumne County's "Bonanza" and "Carson Hill" had some

5,000+ ounce pockets!!! Yes please, and.. THANK YOU!
