  1. "i still wish v2.0 had the same ID normalization as .71. Not a huge deal, but a little annoying having to get used to new TID readings in different programs."

WHAT??? I just updated to 2.0 but I didn't know that this was part of it. Do I have to now do a complete new TID chart?

otherwise this TEKKNA really sounds great. I can't wait to try it. What great write ups ya"ll.

  2. I gave up on it in paired mode. I'm just using it as a stand alone.  Along with all the other problems I am not happy having to turn it off when I can't find the target with it and have to use the detector to see where it is and then have to turn the PP on again to continue ...

  3. Why not use Relic program ? I didn't use it much but it surprised me. I couldn't believe the big iron I found in a corn field that I have detected a lot, always trying to avoid the iron. Those little blips in disc can be big iron. It's actually hard to believe how well disc works.

Well I have to amend my thought that the Deep HC program was excessively draining my coil battery. Turns out it was not that at all, because the same thing happened today.

What really happened, as near as I can tell, is this. After switching back and forth between Fast and Deep HC to check a deep target, I set the detector down to pinpoint with the MI-6 and dig a target. When I recovered the target, I turned off the MI-6 and noticed no response from the coil again. I looked at the remote screen and could see the coil was unpaired and was trying to pair again but displayed no serieal number so it would not pair.

When this happened the first time I thought that my coil battery was drained and that's why it could not re-pair, so I quit detecting and went home. When I got home after that, I turned the remote back on to check if there was a problem with the remote, but it came on normally and the coil was paired like normal and it still showed plenty of battery life like it normally does after one of my hunts.

So when it did the same thing today after switching between Fast and Deep HC and using the MI-6, I powered down the detector and restarted and everything was normal and I had plenty of coil charge to finish the day detecting.

I will have to do some more testing, but I now think that maybe it's a glitch in the software (V .071) relating to switching between Deep HC and the MI-6 Pinpointer that causes the coil to unpair. It hasn't happened with any of the other program, just Deep HC. Has anyone else experienced this?

that is why I stopped using the MI6 and went back to the carrot.

My PC is not a super up-to-date one, that kind of stuff probably won't work. Pretty soon, it will fail to handle YouTube completely, I regularly get warnings about it.

a little off topic Mr.PimentoUK is that I have heard that all detectors can only output 5 volts maximum as directed by the FCC. do you know anything about this or is it urban legend? thanks

  6. great info everyone. Much to think about and try here.

I've been mostly using Fast or DeepHC with a lot of tweaking. I'm finding I'm liking 3 tone audio so far. More tones of full are too much for my ears and mind to pay attention to. Fast for trashy areas or high iron. DeepHC for less trashy and wanting to go as deep as possible. I WILL try the general next. I always thought that moist soil was better for detectors and halo effect made coins seem bigger and easier to pick up on the machine. been raining a lot here in Western NY so this should be interesting.

thanks again for all the info.
