  1. Steve... I was just in Colchester with Mindy in Oct. 2021 i found 2 hammered silver Groats in that field over looking the River Stour. Just a bit left of this picture near the left hand dirt road about a third of the way down. One of the guys I was hunting with that day also found 2 Groats in that same general area. One has to wonder how can 4 coins from 1422 end up so close together after all this time. That, to me, is one of the best parts of detecting.... wondering how things got to be where they were and why.
  2. Just got the D2 last nite and when I charged the remote with the included plug the plug doesn't go very far and is loose and falls out easily. I have it lined up correctly. I don't see how that will work when trying to upgrade the system. If it looses connection while doing an update it could cause a lot of problems. am I missing something on this? I don't want to push too hard for fear of bending or breaking any of those tiny thin pins. It's freezing and more snow coming so I am trying to figure out the menu system. I did scan some coins and stuff under the coil to see approximate TID's and to hear tonal nuance (CD) lol The EMI in this house is crazy and you should see what it looks like in the XY screen... lol
  3. nice write up. thanks for taking us along. mine comes wednesday.. can't wait to do what you did..
  4. mick93... write any of em down?
  5. so the D2 as well as the D is more programmed all the European detectorists and the heck with us colonists? could we tale XP into doing a little changing for us? it shouldn't be Too hard, could it?
  6. i don't know if this is hijacking this thread or not but I have to wonder why the TID's can't be more spread out. We have from -6.4 to 100 and most of the coin type ID's are all crammed together. One number between a penny and a silver dime...
  7. thanks Chase LOL... lets get together this season. Many medical problems the last couple of years but i'm working on getting better yet again. I used the Nox most of the time this year and the Deus is for backup... until I get the D2 that is. take care
  8. reading manual it talks about both but I don't see any info on how the WSA II 's are "better" ... anyone know much about these? thanks, gene
  9. why can't you use the Deus wireless headphones while still using your hearing aids? Like you said about other headphones I didn't like the stock Nox headphones with others that I plug into the WM08 and the headphones don't feedback too much or I have to turn the hearing aids down bit still can use them.
  10. Here is a short video of me in Colchester where I found a 1363 hammered Gold Quarter Noble coin from King Edward The III reign. The people that Steve and I booked with are a great bunch and know their stuff. If you can ever make that trip it is well worth it.
  11. the 4 pound weight still bothers me. It's just too heavy for me. If not for that i would definitely check one out just for the ability of the concentric coil.
  12. Cal_Cobra: I know that you really like the Multi-Kruzer. Looking at this new one do you think it might be better for relic hunting? I hope that you get one to let us know. I have read some of your posts on the MMK and it sure has me wondering as I use the Deus for relic and love it but if the MMK or this one is better I might have to give one of them a try. I thought of getting the MMK but I now have to wait to see if the new one is better. Thanks
  13. has anyone figured out how to convert those las files to DEM files? and then can they be overlayed on Google Earth? or how to do that part? There must be quite a few cellar holes that were never surveyed that can be found with this LIDAR Yum..
  14. all i can say is WOW and congrats. those finds go a long way of paying for your machine.
  15. nice going. you'll get better with it too. keep up the good work.
  16. far out dude!!! big congrats on the breast plate. happy for ya.
  17. Pretty darn slick dude. I like the arm cuff thing, it looks like it will be easier than the strap. Where did you get the carbon fiber material?
  18. Chase. a week is a long time for my memory. lol when my buddy yells over to ask what the TID was of my last dig and i have forgotten it aleady. this is why it takes me so long to learn different machines. lol short term memory or lack there of. my grand kids say I can hide my own Easter eggs. no wonder why i have cheat sheets in my pocket. but when i finally learn something i REALLY know it.
  19. roger that. i just couldn't seem to get that figured out. thanks
  20. i used Dirt Fishing Biil S. program on P1 and like it a lot. I want to do the same to P2 but can't figure out how to convert P2 default 50 tone to 5 tone. In P1 it was already 5 tone so i only had change things around. in P2 i can't seem to find out how to change the 50 tone to 5 tone. I just can't deal with 50 tones trying to learn this machine. thanks in advance.
  21. The manual shows how to do auto ground balance. do we have to do an auto ground balance before we put it in tracking ground balance or can we just do a noise cancel and then put it in tracking GB?
  22. TID of Equinox stock programs. Mild mineralization, Noise cancelled and ground balanced between each program. Park 1 Park 2 Field 1 Field 2 Beach 1 Beaach 2 Sterling Ring 21 31 20 31 31 31 Indian Head 1872 19 15 18 20 19 20 Buffalo Nickle 13 12 13 12 13 13 Mercury Dime 25 25 24 25 24 23 Silver Washington Quarter 33 31 31 Large Cent 28 30 28 29 28 28 I couldn't get a reading on the Washington quarter at first. It drove me nuts as to why i could hear a dime but not a quarter. So I dug it up and there was a rusty bottle cap on top of it. I will rescan the quarter asap as i left the coins still buried in the yard. Things didn't line up quite correctly here.
