  1. Then I cut out the foam for everything. And went and bought a 24000mah charge pack for cell phones on Amazon for $30. 24000mah is a huge amount of power, it has 4 USB ports to charge all at the same time and thats enough power to charge everything fully almost 10 times!!
  2. So rather than spend $200 for the XP branded case I thought I could do better. So first I bought the Plano model 108442 gun rifle case for $70 shipped on Amazon
  3. all the ground from the beach to the mountains here in Oregon is pretty mineralised so im guessing the 2 HF coils will be all that is necassary
  4. I don't know. I am gonna use this for everything, park hunting, gold prospecting, relic hunting. Im gonna try and find settings to work on the beach and see how that goes. I have pretty much every kind of detecting here in the northwest. Guess I was just curious if there would be any perceptible depth increase with a 13" over the HF coils when relic or coin hunting? Otherwise not worth getting
  5. I just got my Deus with both HF coils. Is there any reason other than coverage I would want the 13" coil? I hear it's pretty nose heavy and I'm thinking the HF coils are so amazingly sensitive and deep I probably would never have a use for the 13" right?
  6. no matter what machine I would dig anything that was not clearly iron so I dont think the extra info was of much use for me on the ctx. I detect by ear. But really looking forward to playing with the deus
  7. I never even tried using my ctx for nugget hunting. Maybe since I couldnt even get the settings right to seperate the iron nails. Probably the operator but....
  8. It was a great machine though. Wish I could afford a GPX of some kind but damn the prices on those things.
  9. I just sold my ATX this week, good machine but just too damn heavy trying to climb on hill sides with and scan at the same time
  10. Im not too worried about the numbers since I have found so many times gold jewelry for example will show numbers all over the range depending on what it is. So I basically try to dig everything above a certain tone or a trace of higher tone usually. If its not clear its just a piece of iron then I dig it. Thats, why Im surprised so many people, focus on skipping over certain numbers. I've seen gold show up on one end of the range to the other. That's my limited experience anyway
  11. Great explanation, thanks, so switch to lower freq for checking questionable items. that makes sense. Thanks again
  12. I just ordered my first Deus and a HF coil. So can you clarify. In the parks around town should I keep the freq lower or still take advantage of the higher freq? Seems from the videos I've seen so far the higher freq make non-ferrous jump out more. So will I ever need to use the lower freq at all? I understand I am gonna use the 80khz when prospecting for nuggets but have been curious about the benefits of using the lower freq still Forgive my newb questions.
  13. Yea, I am on this forum partly because of your opinions and reviews Steve lol You seem to tell it like it is without sugar coating, we trust you. Then we can choose to take it with a grain of salt
  14. I wanna know the status on battery life and can we use AA's for backup
