  1. So? What are y'alls thoughts on headphones for nugget hunting? Will a person do just as well with a less expensive set of Treasure Wise or Garrett Master Sound phones, or do the more expensive models like the Detector Pro Nugget Busters and Grey Ghosts really help a lot? What is your choice of headphones?
  2. Thanks Mike. I am going to get at least 1 or 2 of them as soon as i can.
  3. Rob, i am going to get the 5"x9" as soon as i can. John also recommended not going any larger than 8"x12" when i chatted with him about his coils the other day. Thanks to you and the others for their replies, info, experiences and advice.
  4. Don't know if it matters but this is a TDI SL. I have the stock 12" dual field but i have read mixed reviews on it for gold. Planning to get one of the Miner John 5"x9" coils built for the TDI's for it soon. Thanks to all for the replies.
  5. Has anyone used them on their TDI and if so, how do they do on Gold? Especially interested in the larger coils like the 12"x15" mono for the GPX. Will it work on the TDI ? Would it be a good choice for covering a lot of ground prospecting for nuggets and will it find the smaller ones still? Would it be any better than the stock 12" dual field? Any experiences and help appreciated.
  6. Thanks for the reply. Yea, research is going to be the key. Not going to find Gold where there is none.
  7. New Trucks? Heck, i would just like to find enough to supplement social security.
  8. Thanks Steve, i was hoping you would chime in here. I can see where a VLF would be the answer in areas with lots of iron trash. Appreciate the answer.
  9. I keep reading and hearing that a person will find MORE nuggets with a good VLF unit than a PI unit and my questions is WHY? If a person has a good PI machine that they know how to run that will find nuggets as small as a few tenths of a gram, in highly mineralized soil among Hot rocks where a VLF won't work or will at least Struggle to work, as well as in milder soil, then How can a VLF find more gold for them? I am completely New to Nugget hunting with a detector so take that in to account when answering please. But it would seem to me that the PI units would be the way to go if a person just had One machine to use? What am i Not understanding? Any info appreciated. Thanks
  10. The smile on his face with his nugget in hand was worth Way more than whatever you paid for SDC. Great .
  11. Thank you for your input Steve, it is always appreciated. I have an Infinium now as was trying to decide if i wanted to sell it to get the SD 2100.
  12. Thanks for your input Des. I am weighing the options.
  13. From what i understand they No Longer offer service on them. But then, i don't know if Garrett does on the Infinium either. And thanks for the reply.
  14. So, for strictly nugget hunting which one would you say is the better choice, the Garrett Infinium LS or the Minelab SD2100V2 with Doc's Gold Screamer power pack?
  15. Thanks for the replies R.R. and Steve. I sent Garrett an e-mail yesterday asking if the one for the ATX will fit. Will see what they say if i get a reply. I have heard of people using spray on truck bed liner. Anyone have any comments on that?
  16. I have looked on KellyCo, Metal Detectors .co, e-bay, and a few other spots and can not find a listing anywhere for a cover for an 8" rd. mono coil for a Garrett Infinium. They have them for the 10"x14" DD but not the 8". Surely someone must make one?Do any of you know of a place that has them? Or do you know of some alternative to a cover that works? Any help appreciated. Thanks
  17. You could pick up a used Whites TDI or Garrett Infinium. Both are PI units and can be had for around $500-$700
  18. Merry Christmas to you and to all the Gold Getters and also the Gold Lookers.
