  1. Nasa Tom knows that manticore inside and out it seems. Nice to hear the info from Tom who is part of the Minelab team, and is a detector expert!. Anyone know if Steve H has used the manticore? I've been out of the hobby for the last 2 years, Im way behind on whats been happening.
  2. If performance is very close to the nox, and its priced a bit less, and has a great selection of coils, they could steal a chunk of nox sales. The simplex sure is a big bang for the buck. I wish them well.
  3. GB, bring up the CRB commodity index over the last ten or so years. Commodities have been in a downtrend, and started breaking out to the upside, last fall.
  4. All the commodities are breaking out higher. Wheat corn, beans , copper, steel , etc. Its all signaling inflation and a lower dollar dead ahead. The government keeps printing dollars , making them worth less, and everything becomes worth more. Protect yourself.
  5. Its very pricey and hard to find!. People are waking up to what a deal silver is, or was. We are moving into a silver shortage at the current prices. A one oz bar will cost about $32, 2021 silver eagles are priced at about $38, and up. Most online dealers will put you on a waiting list for those. Older year eagles start at around $48 ea. Happy investing.
  6. Liken Jeff mentioned, if you have higher mineralized soil, the simplex will work much better than the F75. I found that to be true in my area.
  7. http://dankowskidetectors.com/discussions/list.php?2 ####### Thread titled Minelab Equinox owners, page 12. ######### Tom Dankowski is looking for input , in performance and design on the next Minelab Flagship detector. Tom has input with Minelab. Pop on over to Toms forum and read the thread, and post your ideas. I started a post about 25 posts down on this thread, about new ideas for the new Equinox. Not realizing they are looking for ideas. Reading the post by Tom about being able to add target density into ID is awesome. Who knows what else the engineers are working on. Check it out ! Steve , I'm not trying to steer folks away from your awesome forum.
  8. i heard that the 5c nickel 's metal content is worth 7c? might want to hang on to your nickels , they may go the way of the copper cent and silver coinage, and be replaced with a zinc variation. I'll have to research that more later.
  9. Good warnings Steve. The compressors used for pumping clean air are diaphragm compressors. You don't want to be breathing air from a piston compressor! The Blu3 Nemos hookah systems are on sale black Friday weekend, 20% off. I think I'll order one. Wouldn't be able to use it for 6 months, waiting the warm weather to arrive. But I'm Dutch, I like a good deal! Hey Dan-NM , want to sell one of those extra batteries? ADD ON.... I ordered it today thru Blu3 Nemo website. Turns out Its assembled and distributed by Brownies Third Lung. They have been making and selling Hookahs for decades. I was glad to see that, as they have plenty of experience!
  10. Ridge Runner, how you gonna remember to breathe under there when one of those mermaids show up and retrieve those targets for you? Poor gal is going to have to drag you to shore and revive you on the beach!😍
  11. Skull, the blu3 unit has extra batteries optional. About $100 each. If you are parked near the water, could possibly recharge one while diving. . I don't remember charging time .
  12. The dive blu3 requires an online test . That unit has a 10 ft hose, so not much concern about the bends. The Air Buddy can be purchased with a 40 ' ft hose, and they do not require any certification. BUT , it would be wise to be certified to go anywhere near that deep. A resort cert. course would be good, but full certification would be a big plus. I was tank certified in my younger days. Tank diving is out of the pic at my age.
  13. https://www.diveblu3.com/product/nemo/, There is also a unit sold by Air Buddy. 25 years ago I built my own hookah unit , using a 5hp gas motor, Thomas diaphragm compressor, wash tub, and all set in a big innertube. The dive blu3 unit only weighs 10 lbs. which is doable for me, as I approach retirement. Would love to dunk the Simplex in the shallows, looking for fresh drops. Our lakes here are all rock bottoms. If you have used these electrics, I'd love to hear your comments. While Im considering it, one of those propulsion units would be fun too! The only difference between the men and the boys, is the price of their toys! 😁
  14. Last summer my knees started bothering me. It came to a point where I could hardly climb the stairs to go to bed. Very painful, and hardly ant strength in my knees. I am 61 and thought my career as a service tech were over. Couldn't they last another year so I could retire? I dreaded the thought of going to a doctor. I heard a commercial on the radio about a natural product called Relief Factor. It reduces inflammation, which in turn reduces pain . A three week sample supply is $20. I tried it and started noticing less pain in 48 hrs. Two weeks later , 90% of the pain was gone. Man I could not believe it. On a day when I will be on my knees alot, I put on some compression knee socks also that have padded areas that cover the front of the knee. When I get home at night , my knees are pain free. Man Im so thankful! My knees still feel a bit loose or wobbly , due to age, but zero pain.! They say it works where ever you have pain caused by inflammation. It shrinks the inflammation, that causes the pain. Search for Relief Factor on Google or DuckDuck Go. A month supply runs $90, all natural capsules. Im one thankful ol wheezer!
  15. Winter will be starting to set in soon, and cabin fever will soon be running rampant , time to think about the next dream machine from Minelab. What improvements would you like to see over the Nox 800? Preformance is always a biggie. More depth, more Stable ID at that depth. Wider numerical ID system, 0-100. Better selection of optional size coils. Or, maybe an etrac or explorer features in the nox liteweight style? Adjustable handgrip pod. EMI elimination system. If you request it, maybe they will build it. 😁
  16. If you dont need a ID meter, and want a deep relic hunter, look at the Deeptech Vista X. It Comes with a 11" coil, optional 5", 6 x 8" , 14" coils. It sells for around $550. The Minelab equinox units are good versatile detectors .
  17. Interesting conversation about 2d and 3d capabilities. Anyone know which detector does well in 2d and 3d detection? thanks in advance.
  18. Interesting topic. I just received my Vista X yesterday, with 11 and 6 x 8 coil. I replicated the test above with the 4 inch dime, and 2 -3" nails each 4" from the dime on the surface. I put on the 6 x 8 coil, and I set the first disc level at 20. It low tones on the iron nails perfectly, but I could not get a squeek out of the dime. Moving the nails away, it hammers the dime. Now if I turn the coil 90 degrees, It detects the dime almost every sweep with the nails in place. Next I removed the nails, and laid a staple on a piece of plastic directly over the dime, and the detector nails the dime every time. Hardly affected by the staple at all. I did not get a chance to try the 11 coil tonite. I plan on doing a beach hunt tomorrow with the x. A fair amount of iron is there, we will see how it does. I sure do like the analog on the X.
  19. Thanks Kitz, thats the answer I was looking for. Lots of nuances in the audio. I just placed an order for the X. I need a good " in the iron" machine. Also getting the 6 x 8 and 14".
  20. Years ago, i had the Vista Gold. It had very telling audio. After some use, I was able to tell alot of trash from coins, just by the fuzziness or clarity of the audio. Is the audio pretty much the same on the X? thanks for your responses!
  21. How is it working out for you? U hunt relics or coins? Your thoughts appreciated!
  22. I had a 71 a few years back. I did not have the time to detect alot , so I never got the entire machine, downpat, so to speak. BUT , its an awesome machine. In beach sand, I buried a $5 gold piece, , 17" deep, and it hit it. I also loved the 120 segment meter, I could pick out alot of rings amongst the aluminum scrap in parks. The rings would lock in very tight on the numbers, where as most alum . tabs and trash would have bouncy numbers. You have a good machine there.
  23. Its not too late to invest in mining stocks. Gold probably doubles from where its at in a year or two. Causing most of those stocks to go up much higher .
  24. I have a pair of LS pelso uw phones also , bought thru ebay, direct from Hungary, they are awesome on the simplex. Have to turn the volume down in the simplex.
  25. The main driver of the gold prices is the shakey banking system, excess dollars printed, and the social unrest in the big cities.
