  1. type in " Minelab equinox waterproof earbuds", and they should come up. The seller is in California, " ailen07"
  2. I just received a pair of corded waterproof earbuds I bought on ebay for $46. Comes with the 90 degree end that screws into the control box. Im very satisfied with the volume on these. Maybe even slightly louder than the pelsos' . I probably will not be under water much, but will use these on hot days .
  3. Micheal Oliver just posted another short article at King world news if you are interested. This guy is pretty sharp. Yeah, I am invested in detectors also, no gold fields near by though. I think its been a few years since I dug up some gold jewelry. Lots of fools gold though, tungsten, titanium , buckets of aluminum.?
  4. The jury is still out on the Tarsacci. Not hearing a lot about the results on that one. I hear rumors its a flop in highly mineralized soils. Some positive posts on the Great salt lake beaches. I 'm taking a wait and see attitude about it. Not gonna be a guinea pig on that unit. I'm curious to see how the manta performs. Seems to hold some promise, as there are some videos out.
  5. When the ID flashes a good number or two, along with undesirable numbers, I dig it. So many times I have dug up coins and bits of trash in the same hole. The detector was correctly ID' ing all the items. Its so fast and seperates so well, it took a bit to get used to this type of performance ! Love my EQ800!
  6. I did the update when it came out. My next trip to the beach , on my first signal, the ID was all over the place. Jumping from 12 to the high 20's and everything in between. I thought, man this update sure sucks. I dug up the target anyway, and it was a 12 coin spill in a 6" area. Nickels, pennies, dimes and quarters. OK no wonder why the ID was all over the place!! LOL. Update is working fine. I get a laugh every time I think back to my first target with the new update!
  7. Steve, you definitely have an awesome forum here. It looks like findmall is dying a slow death, not a lot of posts anymore on a lot of their forums.
  8. NOW is the time to invest in Gold and Silver mining stocks ( also physical gold and silver) if you can afford it! I have subscribed to various stock analysts news letters over the last 18 years, and have found that Michael Oliver 's Newsletter is the most accurate I have come across so far. He is saying NOW is the time! His technical analysis and momentum indicators are giving the green lites. He feels gold will be at $1360 by the end of January. He also says 2019 will be an excellent year for the metals, and to expect some fast upward moves in price. A lot of the stocks are still near their price lows for the year. You want to buy low and sell high. With the gold and silver markets very small in size , when the big money starts to pour in, we will see explosive upwards moves in the prices. When gold hit close to $2000 an oz about 10 years ago, a lot of mining shares were 4x higher in price than they are today. I came across Mike Oliver 's commentary at King World News . com He currently has 2 podcasts there you can listen to, to get it straight from the horses mouth! Don't depend on a redneck ( me) for your investing advice. LOL. I wish you all the best in 2019! Detecting and investing.
  9. I found the yellow minelab phones too quiet for my 60 yr old ears. I picked up a set of Pelso phones and the volume is just right. I have not taken them for a swim yet. Too cold.
  10. I bought a Q20 last year. Its a handy detector. Works very well. Its no clone of the F70 I had 5 years back. Its a very smooth running machine. Hard to beat its performance in its price range.
  11. The least kellyco could do is compensate you for such a stunning review.
  12. A month ago I took my 800 to a tiny beach, red clay and stones. Bone dry, as we had no rain for a month. I found very little and not much depth. Last week I rechecked it after we had 2 weeks of heavy rains, and the beach came alive , found 16 coins, all deep. I believe it was the dampness that was the key.
  13. I dropped by my local dealer today to pick up the uw headphones, and he said he got a dozen 800's in , and has a few now in stock. He does not expect them to collect much dust .
  14. way to go, If I were you , Id start pulling out the iron targets, there has to be more good coins in there!
  15. Question. On the other forum, it was mentioned that you have to ground balance the pinpointer after its turned on? I thought pulse ignored the ground? Someone set me straight please! TIA
  16. I went to my local park this am, and detected a 10 x 15' picnic area, that I hit a 3 years ago with a mid priced detector, with a 5" coil, with bleedy, blendy audio. I figured I cleaned it out back then. Well running the 800 thru there this am, I picked up another 4 coins , all 3" or less, with the 11 coil. This area is wall to wall alum foil and tabs. Just amazed how the nox hoovers up the coins amongst the trash. That 6" coil should be amazing! Speed set at 7, park 1, sens 20.
  17. The 800 is truly an amazing machine. Saturday I detected a 10 x 30 ' area at one of the parks. Over the last 5 years, I checked it with at least 3 different detectors. I pulled out another 19 clad, in an hour and a half. I think its due to the fact the 800 handles my nasty soil so well, and seperates very well, and was getting great depth besides, and its fast. This is just a fun machine. I always come home with a pocket full of goods.
  18. I have found that the alum screw caps tend to read just a bit higher than the zinc pennies at 20-21 . Alum caps .... 22-23. Some still get into the coin range though.
  19. Steven B, look at the video below about setting up for coin hunting. By Bill S. I set up my 800 very close to his settings. It works very well.
  20. I made it back to the same beach yesterday. What a difference 20 hours experience makes ! I have the nickel and coins area " notched in", With higher volume and tone, with the aluminum and iron areas set up quiet and low tone. Now instead of avoiding the trashy part of the beach, I spent 1.5 hours in it, and pulled out 17 coins, and not much trash at all. 4 were nickels. Some alum and lead sinkers come in the coin range, as expected, but this was fun digging today. It sure pays off to get to know your detector!. I still have a lot to learn, but sticking with park 1 , til I decide to graduate and move to the next level. HH
  21. Be careful, you might be infringing on Steve's territory! But he may have cleaned it all out already.
