  1. Thanks Steve. I found out that there is codes you can see with the eye. These are not the codes need to verify a unit. The code can only be seen with a lens. Mine is real ?
  2. I am very fond of my Makro gold racer and still have it to date. Matter of fact, I carry it with me while using my gpz 7000. It is helping me learn the sounds the gpz 7000 makes on ground and target. The gold kruz is an upgrade of this detector. A true upgrade, slight upgrades but important ones. I think it is a great intro unit for a multitude of grounds. I had the Monster and didn't like it all that much, for my own reasons. That does not mean it is a bad unit. It simple did not fit what I wanted from a detector in that range. Plus Makro has more coil options that might be important to you over time. Each to their own, fits detector selecting to a tee. Good luck.
  3. Thank you Gerry. I hope this weekend will bear more fruit.
  4. Well I got skunked on day two. But so did 2 sdc2300 guys, so don't feel so bad. Good news I won the day on the forum YES.
  5. Thanks for the input guys. I am out for another trip.
  6. I took the GPZ 7000 out for its maiden voyage today. I tried the bottom of the claim where we have not found much. Partly because of deeper float sand and not much luck with nuggets. Only a couple have been found down there, however one of those was a 6 gram. So I went over my gold corner first. This place only has small nuggets .25 gram all the way down to .01 gram. So as the title says I found my first two nuggets. The first one was my biggest of the day and biggest ever at 1.16 gram about the size of a pinto bean. This one was down about 6 inches inside schist bedrock. When I located it I thought it was small, so I grabbed the tweezers. Boy was I happy to see the real size. The other one was .18 gram just a standard flat one. It was odd however in that I got a double sound off it. I think it was because it was standing upright smashed between bedrock fingers, down about 2 inches. I will update with my settings later so I can get input from you guys.
  7. 10 inch coil would be nice. Any chance we get 6 inch or a 9x 4 Sadie style.
  8. You have a new brother in the family. Special thanks to each of you that gave me advise on this decision. Extra call out to Brian for checking the Zed out for me in person. Lot of respect for the tight group we have here. Feel free to drop tips and hints in here or pm. I have read so many threads my eyes are bleeding lol. Come on 1 oz Nug. JW looking forward to nugget find sharing with you. Fred low and slow, Check! Nenad hit me up with more of those tips, so I can pay for this thing lol lol.
  9. No gold in HI. My bet is Steve is off cleaning out a field, maybe with a secret weapon. Steve, leave some for the mortals to find.
  10. Perfectly stated post. I got more from this post than I have from most others about settings.
  11. Just one question Gerry. Why you been holding out on me lol. Looks like you found a honey hole.
  12. USA uses 60 hertz most of rest the world including NZ use 50 hertz. They also use 240 as a standard unlike or 120 volts. The hertz can play a hand in EMI. Think regular whistle versus dog whistle.
  13. I learned that less in my area. Now I pull the dirt at least a foot from the hole. Then move the checked dirt to another pile off to the side, never back in the hole. Just never know if the is a deeper target. Plus some times it just seems gold wants to run from us. Good hunting.
  14. How many characters is a holographic Minelab identification code would be best if it was a GPZ?
  15. Sweet I'm liking everyone's posts maxing out the count. Good hunting Steve.
  16. Lol, post is right on the money. I like the crevice sucker part. I agree, dreding is the true money maker on a good spot. For money making nothing under a 5 inch. However I have a fondness for proline's 3 inch, you could do well on a small creek the big boys can't run on. Dredging is peaceful and love to watch pickers go up the nozzle.
  17. Got a question, if I give a negative feed back do i get an extra positive one.
  18. Sell a 7000 would not have been a good idea. Glad you kept it. The time to sell a 7000 is when Steve does lol. Means something is coming down the pipe.
  19. Some times (like now) when typing the letters are slow to appear. Feels a little lag like. Only thing I notice.
