  1. Hi all great topic, you have seen Lola before as a pup she is now 3 years old and a beautiful dog. Pick was taken yesterday at Nerina Victoria we both got a bit wet but did mangage a point 02 for our trouble.
  2. Hi Mitchel , If you want to go for a day let me no i will take you or meet you somewhere on the Hwy if your heading to the Bendigo area. Rod
  3. Don't worry about the flies you can get past them its the soldier ants and the fire ants that will test you if your bitten. T?rust me it hurts.
  4. Hi Mitchel, Mate its to easy here in Australia you can be in the heart of the golden triangle from the centre of Melbourne Victoria in 4 to 5 hours. Hire a camper from here, there are plenty of places trust me, grab a few maps and head out there and start swinging. Just make sure you read your maps and don't go onto private land. I would be more than happy to lead you in the right direction once you where here. And the small townships are very welcoming and there always happy to give a LITTLE advice lol Don't come in our summer to bloody hot. Rod
  5. Hi all Went back on the weekend to see if i had missed any over the patch, well i did. It just goes to show how important it is to check the patch from all directions. Some of the smaller ones would not give me a signal but coming from the other way was a good signal.
  6. Yes it was a great weekend for sure , trust me when i say i was excited. They all came out of a very small area with the biggest being in this hole.
  7. Hi all just like to share a pic of my hunt over the Melbourne Cup long week end. All found with the 7000. Hope everyone is getting yellow.
  8. Hi all and thanks for the nice comments , Lola doesn't get the rabbits she is just a little slow on the turn but she is getting close she is only young 2 years old. Yes the gold we are getting from this area is very rough we are following the slop of the land down to a creek. I went back Sat and it was very wet and the Z was really playing up on the Red Rocks. Not sure what they are and gee its annoying. I have taken a video i will see if i can upload it tonight. Good hunting every one.
  9. Hi Jackpine her name is Lola and yes she just loves the bush she loves chasing them rabbits to .?
  10. Hi all , and wasn't it great to see the sun shine for a day in Victoria on Sunday.? My gold buddy the dog and i took the Z and SDC for a run and came up with these little rippers last Sunday. Good luck to everyone. Cheers Rod
  11. Thanks Idahogold and thanks Northeast. Im heading back out on Saturday to the same spot as there is a gully there that ruins directly into the patch we where detecting. And i think it is well worth a swing over. I have taken a screen shot of your settings Northeast and will report on the changes i will make on the day. I really appreciate the info.
  12. Great day out yesterday with my mate Bazza , sun was shinning bull ants where biting and them march flies where the size of small planes lol. Hit a new spot just out of Cressy and worked an area no bigger that 15 meters x 15 meters and came up with 14 little bits and some nice little bits in quartz. GPZ SDC combo with a lot of raking shoulders a little sore this morning. Still having trouble running in normal, seem to be digging a lot of ghost targets around them trees but i just can't walk away. (any advice would be great) Hope everybody is getting yellow. Regards Rockett.
  13. Thanks very much, it is a really nice bit of gold that we never in our wildest dreams thought we would get. We had been to this area before on a few occasions and must have walked over it. Going back out soon to rake the area and put the big head on and see if we can't pull another one. Fingers crossed.
  14. Found on the 23rd December 16 inches down next to the old iron bark tree. Found by my gold partner Bazza with our GPZ 7000. Hi to the boys at the Dunolly Caravan Park. LOLA gives her love. Happy new year to all and happy hunting there still out there. Thanks Nanxxx
  15. Reg when can we go out for a swing together with your experiance and my detector and stamina lol we could make a great team lol. Have 4wd will travel.
  16. Thanks JP, I balance my Z the same way but after i do that i leave it relax on the ground with ferrite under the plate for 5 min and i only do this on start up. When i pick the Z up i give it one last swing over the ferrite before i put the ferrite away. It runs very quiet and I'm running 70% of the time in normal high yeild in hot ground in Vic.
  17. This is very interesting thanks all for your comments.
  18. I thought you only lost data when you pulled the ground balance button in?
  19. Hi all does anybody ground balance there machine as per instructions then leave the machine on the ground with ferrite under the plate ? I did this while i was getting the rest of my gear ready and it really made it quieter , in very hot ground. The machine was sitting there for about 5 to 8 min approximately.
  20. Hi all and what a lovely day here in Victoria today. Reg i went into the La La forest today and tried my hip stick for the first time, and wow what a difference it made only problem was i couldn't carry the Rake lol. Try it with the pro harness it might surprise you. No gold today.
  21. Thanks Steve for a great site don't change it. If they want to talk of topic tell them to join face book.
  22. Im with you Goldwright the GPZ with the harness fitted correctly is a well balanced machine and i don't find it heavy at all. I swing it and i carry a rake and pick. Hit the bar bells boys.
  23. Thanks Steve your just not a wiz on the gold. Cheers
  24. Cant seem to upload keep getting an error 200 message will try later.
  25. Hi all i hope some had a bit more luck over the Melb Cup long weekend than me 4 days and i could only manage 2.3 grams with the big Z and SDC. Im still having trouble running the Z in normal seem to get a lot of ghost signals especially around big tree roots any help would be much appreciated. Pic is of finds over the weekend. The flat piece on the right is as thin as a bit of paper.
