  1. Out for 1 1/2 hours today to the same place and same area. About 50 ft. from yesterday's find was this "beauty". At the price of gold currently, I will take ugly gold any day.πŸ™‚ That makes 5 gold rings all found within a line of 100 ft. Same settings as yesterday except for noise cancel. 15" still rocks on the Nox!
  2. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Coleman-Small-Dry-Gear-Bag-2000014518/307580814 Mine is similar. I just roll the top down and clip the two ends around my belt and let it hang down on my butt. You could use something else to clip it on as well.
  3. Got out today for 2 hours and detected a spot that had been grown over by Florida vegetation. Someone came in and scraped the top layer off and cleared tons of brush. I thought I would see if anything old was there. Seeing the area was settled in the 70's, I was not expecting much. And that is what I found! I only found clad around the area where the homeless must have been. Around a blanket that remained, I found about $2 in quarters and dimes. Having exhausted that area and becoming exhausted in the 108% humidity, I thought I would try my trusty neighborhood football field again seeing the gate was opened up again. About 20 minutes into that location, I got a strong 6-7 that had that special sound to it. I flipped over the plug and had to get the camera.πŸ™‚ This is my 4th class ring , 2nd in FL at this complex. It has the date, school, name and boyfriend's name, so I'm hoping it will be able to be returned. Looks like it has been in the ground over 10 years just going off the date. It is 10K. The field continues to give up the gold and the 15" on the Equinox continues to earn its keep. I was using Park 1, ground balanced, 18 sensitivity, 7 recovery speed, and all metal. I'm including more pics for those who are not able to get out yet. I always enjoy looking at pics, so maybe others do as well. UPDATE--I got a hold of the school office, and a very helpful woman took my information. She said she would reach out to others to see if they could contact the owner of the ring. A day later, I received a text from the possible owner. I asked her about the ring, and she gave all the correct answers. Just the other day I was able to meet with the owner's sister in person for the exchange. She was very thankful and happy that someone would go to all the effort to return a ring; her smile says the same. She said she would likely see her sister this weekend. Today, I received a picture with the ring on the owner's hand. Always cool to know it was a positive thing on the receiving end. I didn't know it at the time, but after polishing it, it turned out to be white gold, my first! As an aside, I had to ask the sister about the inscription inside. She said her sister and the guy did not work out. πŸ™
  4. What part? I'm visiting there coming up in the next month if all is OK with distancing, etc.
  5. I use a small dry bag that when rolled up is small enough to buckle to my belt. I wear it on my back vs. front side so it does not get in the way. I have never had a problem with it leaking or coming off. I keep keys, wallet, and phone inside.
  6. Got out today for about 2 1/2 hours to a local rec. center/pool that has been closed down due to covid-19. I have not detected there before, despite being close to home. At first I hit the side of the gravel parking lot because the gates had all been padlocked to any fields. I found quarters, the large coin/token and the .925 pendant from Thailand. The signal for the coin/token was a STRONG 35. https://coinquest.com/cgi-bin/cq/coins.pl?coin=14173 I thought it was another buried can, but the sound went away as I lifted the coil, unlike all the cans I was digging. It was on the edge of the parking lot close to a flower patch of the neighbor next door. I moved to a new spot and in the front of the building was the .925 ring on the first dig up front. After that I saw that the field was open and went onto the kickball/small baseball field. There were a lot of quarters and dimes. This spot is close to virgin because the quarters would be gone otherwise. There is more jewelry waiting! The 15" coil impressed me again.πŸ™‚
  7. You aren't by chance trying to metal detect and dig a hole on Skinwalker Ranch? https://www.history.com/shows/the-secret-of-skinwalker-ranch/season-1/episode-1 πŸ˜±πŸ˜‰
  8. Looks like you tracked it down! After your response, I looked up just the center cap for the Lebaron, and it is a match. Thank you to all for solving this fun mystery!
  9. Interesting...Does it have a convex or concave lens?
  10. Thanks everyone for your help! No exact matches yet, but at least I now know it is a center cap for sure and it is from the 50's.
  11. These look to be flat. The one I found has concave glass. Looks close though.
  12. No, no grease. I washed the sand off and it was still wet.
  13. I took the15" coil off the Equinox today to try some relic hunting in a very trashy area. The 11" seems so small! I found this along an old railroad located in a city environment now. In front of the red coloring is glass. My thought is off the center of a wheel. Any ideas?
  14. The cross is kind of like a tray that is holding some sort of metal that the gems are inset into. It's almost like solder was poured around the gems and it is holding them in. I have not seen something like it before.
  15. Thanks πŸ™‚ Here in FL the ground is so sandy that there is not much to stick to the carrot. It has also been very dry recently, so even the sand doesn't stick to it.
  16. Well, here in FL we are well into the "hot" season. Temp was 90 yesterday and today's dew point is 72. I feel for those in colder climates and can remember those days well in Utah when I knew there was a quarter under the ground, but the ground was frozen. I don't miss the cracking hands and the numb fingers and toes.
  17. One good thing about social distancing was not having relatives for Easter dinner at our place this year so that we didn't have to clean the house! That afforded a couple hours of detecting time. Sadly, the football field and baseball fields I normally frequent were all chained off. So, I had to get creative. I detected around the outside of one of the diamonds and ran the 15" Equinox coil over this recent drop. I would not have seen it just walking past it, so I still count it as a find even though no dirt was dug. The chain is .925 and the cross says 10K. There are a couple names on the part that the chain goes through. My diamond tester did not show positive for diamonds. A blessed Easter to you all!
  18. I detect a hole lot of us just coiled up ready to change our disposition as we search for treasured words that have a nice ring to them; the prospect makes me gold-feverish. I know these are too Simplex, but Tekneticly we just past the Equinox a couple weeks back. It will take some time to get on th..e-trac.
  19. I would not have guessed that. I thought it might have been off of a key holder. Thanks for mentioning it.
  20. I have not had the 15" off for a long time. It just covers so much ground and is able to pick through a remarkable amount of trash for me with the recovery set to 7.
  21. Hit the football field close to home today for a few hours. About 20 minutes in, a strong 7/8 blared out. Down about 1-2 inches was the 14K ring. Only change after that, but it was great to find gold again. 15" Equinox coil covering ground again today; love that coil.
