  1. I have the Nemo, it works like a champ for what I was doing. Wading out in chest to neck deep swinging, then going under to recover because of the rock and gravel wouldn't allow a scoop. I have 3 batteries and never did use a full charge because I wasn't under for that long to recover the target. I'm getting ready to sell it though. We bought a place too far from water to travel back and forth.

Was the beach made up of clean sand?  I'm asking because I see that the silver pieces are tarnished and wondering why that happened.

Excellent haul -- hope you can make it back for more soon and thanks for listing your settings and digital TID's.

Everything was under water, the level of the lake is way down and has exposed 80-100 of dry sand, gravel and the rocks.

I noticed the new Q12s are now APTX-HD instead of APTX-LL. That may be why they don't pair with the Nox now.

I received my B80s and they wouldn't pair to my 800 so I did a Factory Reset (FP) and they paired right up. I'll take them for a test drive this week and see how they do.

One thing with the volume control on the B80's, the volume may be low when you first pair them up. There is plenty of volume when you raise the volume on the B80's to max.

Nice haul.  How can you tell that the chain is silver?

Do you remember what TID's the silver came it at?  I'm guessing that the open rings and the spiral ear decoration were below 20....

    Thank you.

The toe ring hit 12-14...the chain and pendant was jumping around 15-19 ...the earring hit ...18

As far as the chain goes, I have a test kit.

  5. Had a good hunt at the lake today, hunted for 6 hours and ended up with 5 pieces of silver, handful of clad and a pouch full of trash. 3 silver rings, silver pendant, silver chain and a couple of junk pieces of jewelry. Stayed on the dry beach today because the lake level is dropping.  Ran the Nox 600 in Park 1... recovery 2... Iron bias 0 ...Sens 23 ..1 Tone, dug everything from 0 up.

Do you dig everything because you like to suffer or do you leave something behind?😄

I know it's the best way to find good things.
Two days ago I dug a fine silver chain, then I heard two VDI 6 signals, they were two very small earrings, they sounded like tinfoil, if it wasn't for the chain I wouldn't have dug them.

I dig anything from -2 up, it's a drag after a few hours, but, I'm greedy and want it all 🙂

If it once got wet, I'd definitely get a replacement. There is a good chance of getting problems later on... days, weeks, month .. I wouldn't risk that.

I guess that will be up to Minelab, since moisture is behind the screen and I would assume inside the electronicsas well.  Being that it cannot be opened, I hope they would replace it.

Do you think setting the Nox control pod in the sun with the battery removed the sun would draw out the moisture?  Other option would substitute a plastic tub filled with rice for the sun to draw out the moisture?

Wishing you the best for your problem and upcoming vacation.

I have the battery out and will leave it out a few days. I felt inside today afterremoving the battery and there was moisture inside the compartment.

I know this post is old but I just came across it. I have found a couple of good sized 14k men's rings with the Nox this year (13 gram range) and both rang up in the 18-20 area. I would think that a 14k class ring would have a similar TID number.

I ended up finding the guy's class ring, it rang 19-20 and ended up being 10K.

  10. I have my RMA number as of yesterday, I was told it's good for 30 days and I will be sending it to Pa for the repairs/replacement. I'll be shipping it off as soon as my vacation is over. I'll be looking for another 800 as a backup before I send this on in, just in case there is a delay in the turn around process. I took it today and the condensation formed again and stayed visible for about 3 hours or so.

  11. I've been using the 800 for fresh water hunting for the last 2 months. Deepest I've taken it is neck deep with no issues. I was out this morning, hunting the beach and about an hour into the hunt, I see condensation forming behind the screen. The machine seems to function normally except the volume of the external speaker is weak.

I decided to burp the speaker and when I pulled the battery out it was wet. That was not what I wanted to see, I have a vacation coming up in a couple of weeks and need my machine to hold out until the end of Sept. I'm unable to get the pressure to equalize, each time I reinstall the battery, I can hear the speaker pop and the volume remains low. I'll let Minelab deal with it.

I'll contact Minelab Monday and get the issue on record and send it in after my vacation.. I've already had 3 Profind 35's go bad since February, one went nuts and 2 leaked.  I've been really lucky up until this year with Minelab products.

  12. I was able to get back to the lake this morning before the crowd took over. Took me about an hour in the water, to hit the wedding band in knee deep water. I don't recall what it read, but, out of the water it hit at 5, weighs a whopping 3 grams, 14K. It says wedlock on the inside. The inner layer looks to be white gold, with an overlay of yellow on the outside.

The 8000 seems to run smoother with black sand and salt on for some reason, this is a fresh water lake btw. My settings were:

    -30 disc
    -2 Threshold
    7-Sensitivity
    Manual GB at 638
    12 Khz
    Salinity at 28

  13. I had a guy approach me at the lake today who lost a 14K college class ring size 11. I told him I would spend time looking for it and get it back to him if I happen to recover it. I have a 10K college class ring I found this year(unable to locate owner) but, it's a 10K. On the Simplex, it reads 64-65, the Nox hits at 20-21 I'm wondering how much of a difference the 14K will read. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have about 45 on my list at present. Due to the slow ramp-up of production I am reviewing as units become available to ensure a good mix of experience and geography, it is not necessarily first come - first serve, but I am adding names at the bottom of the list so that once production ramps up I can just go down pretty much in order.

    Thanks for the update Rick!!
