  1. Tim, were you able to tell if the 52 rosey was on edge?
  2. Noxy got a couple more silver rosey's at the park. Got her first half dollars, two from the same yard but not silver. Another barber dime and other treasures. I'm still using pk1, usually run the iron bias at 3, I'll piddle with the segment volume some depending on where I'm hunting. I did set up a user profile with everything rejected but 13 and 22up.
  3. Same here. Maybe after we've had them longer someone will see a pattern or something that we can determine causes it.
  4. Cal, I know everyone didn't get there's but I had my 800 at home Feb. 9th. which was pretty close to the projected time. Anyways, I've been wondering if I really need the 6" coil... the stock coil has amazed me at it's ability to find stuff. I had a small coil for my f19 but rarely used it cause the stock 5x10 worked really well for me. I guess there's probably a place for one so I'll get one when available.
  5. Good post Tim, I like your explanationon iffy signals and I'm guilty as charged for doing the same thing. I was finding some good stuff as you know at the ball fields but in other areas there I wasn't hearing the "round sounds" and before long I was really working the iffy signals. Well that wasn't working and after a while I told myself to stop, trust the machine and if it's not there it's just not there. Later I pulled another rosey from the front of the park. The plus side is boy am I learning what sounds to NOT dig. Lol
  6. Nice finds Daniel, glad the Nox is working for you.
  7. It didn't hit great but good enough to make me dig it. Glad I did!
  8. It happened, four hunts a little over 3 hours total. All together 9 wheaties and yesterday the rosey. I played ball here when I was a kid 55 years ago. Pk1 with the recovery 6, volume down to 1 iron, 5 next two segments, 25 on the last two. I'm only looking for high conductors.
  9. That's awesome Tim!! I'm very happy for you. I think we're all having fun!!
  10. I went back out to the ball fields this morning for an hour. I got 5 wheaties. Two of which I could just say man and shake my head. There's been a discussion about getting outside of what you've learned in the past about repeatable signals. 2 of the wheaties were such targets. I was shocked I got 5 wheaties but amazed at 2 of them. I just couldn't hardly believe it when I saw them.
  11. Thanks Chase! I would suspect probably a colored glass center piece. It was kinda cool but not expensive.
  12. I ran mine in auto Trac for a while at first and experienced exactly what you said about the target disappearing. I said to myself YIKES!! I won't be doing that anymore. Tim what Skate said about doing the circle around the target and finding the sweet spot that says dig me is good advise. We all have our little sayings as to what we call things. I will tell myself "better circle the wagons on this one" lol. Thanks for sharing Skate!
  13. Way to go skate! Now you're going to have me listening for that nonrepeatable signal that says better dig me.. Lol.. Hey, I believe you man!! You know for what we had to pay we got one heck of a machine!! Fun and Equinox just go together. Crap, I'm sitting here right now thinking in my head about the sound I'll be listening for.??
  14. Thanks GB! Yep, it's 1867 and pretty clear under the glass. Pk1 has been very good to me. I think the default setting of 5 on recovery and my swing speed work well together. I tend to go a lot slower than most of the guys I hunt with and the 5 tone I like better than 50 tone. That's just personal preference but works for me.
  15. It seems the older or perhaps worn nickels hit a little lower. I've dug nickels from 10's popping in a little with 11's&12's. 12,13 alternating with your wiggles is a good sign. Solid 13 good but also 1/2 tab number. 12's,13's with a 14 popping in.. bad sign. War nickels hit 13&14...But some will hit higher from what I've read. I've only found 2 our 3 with noxy. If I remember right the 13, 14 with mostly 14's was a good sign on them. The deepest was the shield I got today ... Solid 6"... doubt it was really any deeper. It had a10 pop in a little. Oh, forgot there was an iron grunt with the signal. I dig one of those little nuts that are like pressed into shape and thread onto a screw like bolt. The 10 may have left after I got it out of the way... sorry I don't remember but know the nickel signal cleared up and my first shield nickel showed up. From 10 to 13 I'm gonna dig it thinking it Could be a nickel. Hope that helps some. Good luck and HH!! Tom
  16. Oh, I got two jefferson, a buffalo,"v", and shield nickel today. If only I could have squeaked a war nickel in there it would have been a clean sweep!
  17. Got to get out today and hit a couple yards. The shield nickel came from a "hunted out" park. I've been hunting in pk1 for about the last month. I've got two more wheaties form a hunted out ball park. The last one was on edge at 5". I only got numbers part time but they were the right ones and the sound was soft but very repeatable. For what ever reason it didn't hit at all in pk2. and repeatable only in one spot in pk1. I was a little off on my plug and when I put the pin pointer in the hole I located the wheatie. I first thought I pushed it straight up and down until I removed it and saw the nice halo behind it. I do sometimes play with segment volumes and do disc out certain things at times. I also have played with the tone break settings. But for the most part its just the stock setting in pk1. I love it!!
  18. Thanks! She sure is!! I've had her one month today and it just keeps getting better. Finding coins/ relics hiding is probably my most favorite thing to do. Anyone can find the easy ones. Noxy has proven that she can getter done!!!
  19. I was pretty proud of noxy today. The second wheatie I found had a square nail in the hole with it(it actually came out first) one of my buddies was with me when I dug it and said" oh, it was just a square nail" I said no that nail didn't make that sound and a little further down out comes a nice green 1920 wheatie. The merc was what I was most proud of. I had just said I'm going to be happy if this is what I hope it is. There was iron around it and I couldn't get a solid signal but it sure acted like a good target and there were some 28's popping in consistently. I got the plug out and could see the silver edge. The dime was standing on edge straight up and down. It was only about 5" down but I was sure proud of my noxy for finding it. Pk1 mode.
