Tekkna For The Deus 2, First Impression (updated 3)
ColonelDan replied to F350Platinum's topic in XP Deus II Forum
I think I can give a top tip if you’re talking about beach hunting….you simply dig it! 🤣 Over the many years I’ve tried numerous ways to ignore it, discriminate it, and notch it in order to find the goodies hiding around it. What I finally concluded is the most reliable way to ensure you get the goodies that are interspersed with aluminum trash is to dig it. 👍🏻😂😂 -
The walking liberty and pin made the effort worthwhile in my view. 🫡

Your “good” days = superior for most folks. 😊 As I’ve said before, you live in the epicenter of US metal detecting, you use the best equipment on the market and you know what you’re doing!!! 🫡👍🏻 Soldier on…..

That’s an Army weapon qualification badge. There are 3 levels of badges for those who qualify with their weapon…Marksman, Sharpshooter and Expert. This one is the Marksman level. The bar at the bottom indicates which weapon. It can be rifle, pistol or even grenade. Finding one in Sterling is a very nice find and one that is about WW II era as you say. 🫡

Glad to hear you like the coil. In fact, there isn’t much at all to dislike about XP products is there? 😊

Tekkna For The Deus 2, First Impression (updated 3)
ColonelDan replied to F350Platinum's topic in XP Deus II Forum
Well Bob, that leaves me out! 😂. Aluminum is basically what plagues us on our beaches when you bring up the topic of junk. And where I land hunt at the Seminole Indian War site is not really riddled with scrap iron. Does this mean TEKNNA was not meant for me? 🤣 -
Keep in mind that most success in metal detecting requires you to just get the coil over the target. I’ve found nice objects with inexpensive detectors as well as expensive ones. In any case, congratulations on the great finds!!! 🫡

Gary Blackwell addresses the halo effect at the end of this video and how CSR impacts it.
-
I was thinking more in terms of land hunting programs for the on/off switch….e.g. Deep HC, Fast, Park etc.
-
I’m sure the halo effect can’t be totally eliminated in all cases. I’m not sure that what I suggest can even be done. I just throw it out there for those much smarter than me to chime in. Like I said, it may be a crazy idea….🤷🏻♂️
-
Due to the characteristics of the areas that I routinely hunt here in Florida, I only use programs that have the conductive soil reduction capability…the beach programs, General and Relic. Wet conditions are very prevalent as you can imagine so the halo effect, when using the other programs, has the potential to impose itself on your detecting life. Now this got me wondering, would it be possible or feasible to add a conductive soil reduction on/off option for all programs to the Deus II software? If so, the halo effect would be, could be or might be eliminated throughout the program options. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m no software engineer by any stretch so this might be a crazy idea. Just thought I’d throw it out there. 🤷🏻♂️

Another good job. Good report on Tekkna. I’ll be experimenting with that program at some point even though I don’t do a lot of land hunting. Soldier on Bob….👍🏻😊 -

Good run there Bob. After the rain would be a perfect time to try "Gekko" based on General or Relic. 👍 -

Great report soldier. 👍🏻. I’ll have to experiment with those settings but I’d like to try them using a modified General program using its conductive soil subtraction capability…just on a lark.
