  1. All the complaints in the different gforums about the 6" coil has definitely put me off getting one. Gutted, as I was soooo looking forward to it. Matt
  2. My view, like it or not....Gary Drayton is, IMHO, a bullshi**er! Claims to have found 8+ ounces of gold in a weekend in florida on the beaches, and on his site, claims to have literally found absolutely STACKS and STACKS of gold, spanish gold etc etc...BLAH friging blah! BUT...a video of him, even finding ONE SINGLE PIECE OF GOLD on a beach???? NOPE. NOT A CHANCE. Doesn't exist. Sorry, but unless I see at least ONE video of him doing a real live dig of even ONE GRAM of gold...I CALL BULLCRAP! Matt
  3. Understood, but i'm sure lots of people would like to see videos of the 15" coil in action before they buy. Matt
  4. When are we gona see some videos on the 15" coil? In particular side by side comparisons with stock coil. I'm thinking the big coil is WAY to much money for a VERY small gain, if any at all. Matt
  5. Thanks mate. It was using the new Equinox software update too. He has found 3 .925 Sterling silver rings and 1 22ct gold ring in the last few weeks. What have I found? Junk jewellery and common clad..grrr!! lol. Matt
  6. Thanks for the comments----as a matter of interest the 800 settings were - Beach 1 Sensitivity 21-- very quiet and stable at this level. Tones 5. Auto tracking. Audio 20. Big fan of factory basics--boffins at Minelab have done a good job. Upgraded to latest software. [ All figures supplied by my Dad. ]?
  7. Minelab Equinox 800 does it again! 22ct gold ring at 10 inches deep in the sand. This is not my find, it's my father's that he found a couple of days ago. 2.7 grams 0f lovely 22ct gold.
  8. Here are my finds from 1 hour detecting a local football field last night. Nothing special...but very fun and enjoyable hour in the pitch dark...lol
  9. Here are my results from 1 hour detecting a field last night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sg0vnde5kRU&feature=youtu.be
  10. Here is a quick video I did Just now. Equinox 800 old software vs Equinox 800 new software. .925 Silver coin on edge:
  11. If minelab say end of year, which they told me in an email, then prob' means Feb/March 2019..lol BUT, they pdated the nox firmware, so I can't cry....too much ? hehehe Matt
  12. We are soooo lucky with this Equinox....sooo many options and settings and frequencies etc..lol. Kinda like having a sky TV full package.....there are 35 programmes on all at the same time, but you just dunno which to watch..lol. In Wales, here in UK...at my local park, I normally just pop down fo a quick 30-40 mins cherry pick. My settings are sensitivity 10, park1, 5 tone... 5khz and if I dig 15 holes, I can guarantee at least 14 are coins. old crappy worthless clad, but good bit of fun. (old £1 coins and 1/2 pennies etc) Matt.
  13. After comparing multi-IQ compared to Park1 at 5khz....I can 100% definitely say, that here in the UK, at my local football field...5khz eats multi IQ for brekky, dinner and tea! BUT, obviously when I'm on the beach.....nothing beats the multi IQ. I beach hunt 99.9% of the time, but of a few local park digs i've done and in my test garden 5khz completely demolishes Multi IQ. Matt.
  14. I'm in the UK and went to an extremely trashy park a few days ago. Only had 30 mins cozI had to go pick up the missus. I decided because i was limited in time, I would cherry pick, in a big way. I only wanted shallow stuff, so i put it in Park 1, gain/sensitivity 10..yes, TEN! Also I said to myself i'm only gonna dig targets that give a 100% perfect repeatable sound, plus I would turn 90 degrees and end up doing a 360 and all 4 turns i would only dig if it was a banging repeatable sound. Basically I dug 12 targets. 1 was a tiny bit of can slaw The other 11 were ALL coins!! Only old £1 coins, old 50p coin, and rest were modern 20p coins and 1p coin. I'm blabbering on a bit now, BUT.....digging 12 targets and 11 were all coins is bl**dy good! In my opinion, Is it "good" for Trashy parks? NO - It is absolutely FANTASTIC in trashy parks. I can only drool while I wait for my small Equinox coil to arrive and then it will be a SUPER fantastic! I tell you what....this Equinox is an absolute killer machine...I use it on the beach...in the water, on the wet sand and dry sand...zero falsing and on my permissions (800 acre farms etc) and i've used it in the river a couple of times. Equinox In trashy parks = AWESOME Beach...In sea, dry sand & wet sand = AWESOME Farm fields/pasture = AWESOME Only 2 river trips, but = AWESOME Matt.
  15. Thanks for your comment------I"m always ready to experiment.
  16. I"m enjoying considerable success on the beach working in both the dry and wet sand using the default settings beach one. This leads on to my question----do I need to ground balance, either manually or auto ? Some say yes and others say no---why have manual gb when this can be changed to auto gb ? Getting good signals at good depth so why try and fix it if it aint broke .? I do believe that we all try and get the best out of our machines. Mossy99. [ forgot to add---my post not my son aka staffy33 ]
  17. The only fault---if you can call it that----the coil cover needs to be greater in depth to cover completely. Maybe this will be looked at shortly by M/L or an independent manufacturer. Other than that small point, I am pleased with my 800.
  18. No luck so far....but we will find the owner...hopefully. Prob' got a lot of sentimental value to her. Matt.
  19. I use beach 1 sensivity to 16 on dry sand. Beach 2 for very wet sand and in the shallow watter. Matt.
  20. Nice finds dude.....love all your gear!! You are well kitted out there mate!! If any machine is capable of finding it, then If the Equinox coil passes over it, then it WILL be found!! Matt
