  1. Well, apparently, Minelab have responded to this persons videos directly and asked him to do this video for them: I waited 5 months to get my 800 and to be honest....with threads in this forum saying it's not very good on dry sand, having problems with depth meter, can't see coins or rings on edge.....i'm feeling really depressed writing this thinking WHY oh WHY did I get on the hype bandwagon? I mean.....months on waiting list £900 for the machine, then i'm reading everywhere that the X-Terra out performs the 800 on dry sand etc...arrgghhhhhhh.....please someone convince me why i should keep my Equinox, or i'm gonna end up making an angry decision....flog it on ebay and just by a used Xterra 705. OH MY GOD MY HEAD HURTS!!!! Matt
  2. Thanks for the info...much appreciated. The only detector I ever owned that truly was absolutely 100% accurate with regards to depth reading was Makro Racer 2...but sold it to get Nox 800..heheh... This person is complaining about the Nox, saying it can#t see rings and coins on the side.....check it out.... I made reply vids proving him wrong. Here are his vids: Here are my reply vids...lol:
  3. Will Minelab roll out a fix for depth reading problem?
  4. Not true? So i#m making it up? I'm in the UK and 99.99% of the time, the method i have explained works for me. Matt
  5. It's super easy to get rid of the bottlecaps. Just put it in all metal, bring the good sounding target to edge of coil and you will hear change in tone and see numbers jump. Hand on heart, I did a test in my garden and asked a mate to hide 20 coins and 20 bottlecaps......i came outside with the Nox, did my little trick with all metal and out of the 20 targets that i thought were coins i was right on 19 out of 20. 19 coins 1 bottlecap. Simple. Or, get a CTX, but it will miss gold chains and cost you a fortune in Chiropractor visits with the weight..lol Matt
  6. I get zero lag on my ML headphones..never missed a target...actually sold the wireless module on ebay as it was not needed. Matt
  7. Congrats on the Nox....Just don't go into a certain Beach and Water Hunting forum...coz they are attacking the Nox like crazy: https://metaldetectingforum.com/showthread.php?t=261321 My username over there = staffydog33 Trying to defend the Nox, but they making it to be pile of crap...when it's NOT,. I LOVE the NOX!! Get over there guys...back me up...lol Defend the NOX...Braveheart style! They may love their Excal....but they'll never take.....OUR NOXXXXXXXX!!! lol
  8. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Double thanks for taking the time to go into detail in your reply...it's definitely helped me and made me understand a lot more now. Really appreciate you taking the time. Very much appreciated. Thanks Matt
  9. I have a Makro Racer 2 and it performs well and silent on the beach....how much better, if at all would the Equinox 800 be on the beach? Coz it almost seems that anything even remotely related to the Equinox and wet sand performance is avoided by the testers or anyone working for minelab. I'm very very keen on the Equinox...but 95% of my hunting is done on the beach. Dry and wet. Anyone have any idea at all if it would be a definite upgrade in beach performance compared to Racer 2? Seems to be absolutely zero videos or write-ups with regard to anything to do with beach performance? Cheers Matt.
