  1. Sennheiser 280 Pro (been a LONG time but I think that's the name)…. Been using them for ear protection when I practice my drums, use them with my eTrac, use them when listening to stereo, and they come with both 1/4 & 1/8" jack. Although they are audiophile, noise cancelling phones they work in the Monster just fine. I don't use phones with the Monster normally just the speaker. Have been using the same set of Senns for 8-9 years now with NO complaints or problems. Think they ran about $80 8-9 yrs ago????? PS....My Monster phones didn't even work right outta the box....junk (rolling eyes)…….. https://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/sennheiser-hd-280-pro-closed-back-headphones/j42590000001000?cntry=us&source=3WWRWXMP&msclkid=944c2b554b6512630dbe70ab7fb0886f&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=%5BADL%5D%20%5BMF%5D%20%5BNon-Brand%5D%20%5BPLA%5D%20%5BUS%5D%20%5BEnhanced%5D%20%5BShopping%5D%20-%20Manufacturer&utm_term=1100506609704&utm_content=PLA%20-%20Product%20Type&adlclid=ADL-29d25c01-e3fd-426f-acd0-0d63c5e59249
  2. Nice gold....!!!!! Looks like you've got a kick-ass claim also!!!! Hard to tell from the phone pics but the size of that snout on the "yote" looks TO ME like you may have a wolf on cam and not a yote. (jmo)…..
  3. It's not so much the Monster is killing it as it was the location I had (key word had) was made for the Monster! Hopefully I can somehow change the had back to a have next season? Speaking of bears.....a guy got slapped around yesterday by one pretty good as they had to airlift him out. Happened 120mi north of me near Goldseeker's neighborhood. It does happen once in awhile and a close friend has 50+ stitches in his arm from one mix up about 8-10 yrs ago...….. Another reason I like the LOUD speaker on the Monster...might warn off any bear? Only time you'll most likely have bear trouble is when you accidently surprise them. Usually if they hear you first they'll avoid you...Grizzly all bets are off, unpredictable.
  4. First off THANKS to everyone for the nice words....it's appreciated!!!! Northeast.... Currently down to 6 cameras and have run Reconyx cams almost exclusively for 10+ yrs. Reconyx are spendy but very reliable and due to thieves finding my cams (3 now @ $1200 loss) I started buying "el cheapos" in case of theft. The pics posted are from my new "el cheapo" cams ($100) and take GREAT daytime shots, IR night pics not so hot. The cams are Browning Strike Force and last yrs models. All trail cams are china made cheap (except usa Reconyx) and I consider them "throw aways" if they get stolen or when they break down, and they do. I'm actually very happy so far with these 2 Brownings….EXCELLANT day pics, great battery life, small & easy to conceal, and cheap, and most important (for me) is they work in the cold weather unlike a lot of the "el cheapos"..... Hope that helps Thanks again everyone for the words!!!!
  5. Yeah Steve....snowing here at the house as I type and about 4" the other day up on top...... winter time= forum time.....lol
  6. Snow trying to stick down low and drove thru snow to the gold fields a couple days ago so days are numbered!!!!! Might be able to get in 1-2 more days depending? Here's my total nuggs for my 1st year chasing with a detector. I'm happy with results and thank ALL on here who helped me general info and "secret" info (lol)...they know who they are. The New Zealand boys post up great info and I think we all appreciate the scenic so I thought I'd sprinkle in some scenic for them so they can see my area in particular which is typical in many areas of the western U.S. All the nuggs were got with the Gold Monster in 2 locations in Idaho and 2 in Montana. Sluiced gold came from Montana claim from 2 trips mid winter in butthole deep snow (FS don't allow sluicing in river but they ain't up there mid winter...lol). My other hobby is chasing predators with trail cams so I sprinkled in a couple to show you guys, and the New Zealand boys what you could see at any time out in the western states. Hope you guys enjoy the pics...... Weight wise...this was my best day below
  7. Have the exact same issue(s) with my Pro-Find 35. Works but I won't be buying another......
  8. Bought a Goldmonster and a GPX 5000..... Sold the 5000 and keeping the Monster. No fault pointed at the 5000 and I could see the potential but I got very spoiled using the Monster with it's simplicity, lightweight, discrimination, loud speaker (no headphone cords), etc. 5000 was (imo) a boat anchor, lousy disc, too many cords, and I was always getting hung up in the brush and having to readjust bungee going uphill or down. I also spent a full hr once digging 2 targets (deep)….so that was it for this old tired lazy boy.....lol
  9. Nice to have met Andy and very happy for him!!! It was a real thrill to fondle that beautiful boulder for a few seconds!!!!!!!
  10. Nice ring!!!! Like already mentioned....if you're looking for gold in the usual "public arenas" you gotta dig-it-all as gold can/will read all over the map because of different content, weight, and size...……...
  11. good job on the fall noogies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Way to go Reese.....!!!!!! Skunk on my end today...….give me a buzz?
  13. Looking at the claw marks I'd guess Grizz…???? Gold Monster rocks.....such a pleasure to use. Keep em coming!!!!!
  14. I've also not influenced U.S. production to any degree...…...?
  15. Last time I was in there was early last week and someone had left a couple beer cans and had continued digging where I'd left of before. the owners I'm sure where aware of me being up there quite a few times? When I came off the hill last time the quad trail everyone uses to go around the gate had been blocked off (probably because of me?) so I took the hint and haven't been back. There were no signs up last time I was in there. I may have been a part of everyone getting the boot and/or the people leaving the beer cans???? Nothing I can say...……. Maybe we all could pony up a little dough for the property owner to allow us in? Possibly renegotiate every year? He gets some payoff...we get a few dinks????? I do that with a claim owner over here and it worked out well for both of us....I keep an eye on the claim, cleanup any trash, keep them informed on what I find and see when up there, dug trench on an approach that was flooded, etc. etc.... They don't charge me anymore and said to run amuck at will...…... just a thought
  16. Man you really hammered them.....!!!! Good job! Heading over today for a couple hrs, I'll be down on the creek getting familiar with a new machine......
  17. Thanks much Gerry!!!!!! Looking forward to the new machine...….. I'd also like to mention to the folks that I had a VERY SMOOTH transaction with Gerry's detectors...he went way above and beyond "normal" actions most dealers wouldn't even consider......Thanks again!!!!
  18. Been to Bannack twice and highly recommend if you haven't been there before. They had a major flood a couple years ago that did some damage. They have built a holding pond above the town to control flood waters and also a lot of reconstruction due to the flood damage so things have changed, and I'll bet not quite as original as the "old" Bannack...but just a guess as I haven't been there since the reconstruction? Also have a book on Bannack but I couldn't find it.....great read on Bannack history and the vigilantes. I had a link with pics of Bannack but can't seem to post it here...sorry. Reese....we'd outta put on our ghillie suits and "hit" Bannack! lmao!
  19. thanx guys....I'll go with the 24" and shorten it later if need be????
  20. Thanks Brian. I should have added that the reason I'm going with the pick is because I have a GPX 5000 coming so bigger/deeper holes (sigh)………..
  21. 18" or 24"...….any preference and if so, why????? Thanks!!!
  22. watched half of it and my head is starting to spin. Thanks for posting this info. I have a 5000 coming soon so this info will really help speed up the curve...……..
