Phrunt---you are right --lots of stories behind those finds --and lots more with other finds--maybe I'll come out of my shell and share some more.Basically i have been pretty much of a loner when it comes to detecting for nuggets. As many of you know it takes great persistence to even find one nugget--and most people get bored very easily and loose interest.
Valens: Been down the last four months with a dizzy/balance problem --but as soon as I work it out I will be back out.I did find eight or ten grams of small nuggets before earlier in the year with the 6000--great machine --especially when I get lazy --and now getting older--in my early seventies. When I was younger --I swung that Gpz all day no problem --and If I could would swing it instead of the 6000

good morning and happy new year to all!!
I'm sure this question has been asked many times in the past, but I was hoping someone could refresh mu memory. I'm currently swinging a gpx 5000 with a commander 15 x 12 mono coil -- ( old school). I wear out the covers a lot and have had problems getting new ones recently---so question is whats the best way to get the most from my covers??? I 've heard truck beeding stuff works good --- make a new bottom from fiberglass --- or ????
Thanks all good luck
Marc
The Scorpion Nugget

Just got back today from a trip to Nothern Nevada with my son
We got several nuggets on this trip but the most interesting was the one pictured!! After my son got a very weak signal he dug out both the nugget and the scorpion at about 10 inches
1.2 grams and the biggest scorpion I have ever seen in Nevada--He was in hybernation and very much alive --but the cold slowed him down to almost a stop. We put him back in his hole unharmed --hope we dont run into him in the summer.
