  1. Not all the field are as generous lol . We where lucky to get invited by our good friend Randy onto his permission .
  2. We recieved the 15's from Crawfords in the UK . Who kindly sent mine with Randy's together for Saturday delivery .Thank you the Crawfords crew you made this hunt possible . Kev my son with his sooty and sweep went out with Randy Dee on a permission that has been well detected in the last few years . And producing Roman coins and artifacts . Randy and my self where armed with the new 15 inch coil . I was in field1, AM ,5T,BIAS 4,RECOVERY 2 . I usually set at 20 but due to the nature of the field iron infested . I settled with 17 with the 15 . It worked great . As we progressed I meet up with Randy mid morning (fund out ) Bloody hell the whyly fox had 8 romans .His comment was THIS A CRACKING COIL. Coming from Randy that a great complement as he has 40 ++ years detecting and has had the machines . I had 2 ???? I was detecting back to the car for lunch . BANG 31 hhhuuumm . Dug over the full length of my JR Stainless spade . Tried it still in the hole reading 29/30 .By this time Randy and Kev had appeared . Randy gave it a swing hhhuumm summet there DEEP . So I dug 4/5 inch out with my digging tool place it on the side looked .Could see a silver glinting in the muck . I pick it up gave it to Randy .he said its a bloody Denarius and an early won .'Turned out to be a Vespiasian . 69/79 AD . My first Roman Silver and a cracker . I ended up with 8 roman bronzes and the Denarius . nice roman brooch . Randy really cut it up 22 romans and other bita and pieces .Kev had 8 and a very nice snake item (*brooch) ??? Se if I can put some pics on . Well done Minelab on producing a fantastic coil WHICH will stay on the Noxie .
  3. Saved a bit on postage + got delivered yesterday . So I will be looking forward to trying it out today . Weight not an issue as I use a harness all the time .v Cheers Randy for sorting .
  4. Never used park's as I do mostly pasture . I set it to how I like . Didn't realise my settings where similar to park . Maybe I should just use park LOL
  5. I had to drop to 18 to get rid of the falsing . Even at 18 goes deep . And I find the Noxie in field 1 loves small items even at around 10 inch. I usually hunt at 20/23 depending on the field . A real tool . Waiting for the 15 inch coil to surface as we do mostly untouched pasture . And the larger coil would help .
  6. I had my first hammy yesterday with the 800 . Cracking cut quarter . It was well over 6 inch . I was in field 1, sen18 , 5 T , RECOVERY 4 , iRON BIAS 3 . Rang in VDI a solid 10 . I was in all metal . Target tone 1 set at 1 . So the iron is in the threshold I am hard of hearing set at 11 . The sens was 18 reduced to knock out falsing area .
  7. Crawford's said it was a circuit board fault .
  8. Crawfords did a cracking job . The UK TESTERS where there giving useful advise on the Nox . Great atmosphere . You even got a hat tshirt pen as a goody bag . AND A RAFFLE TICKET WHEN YOU SIGNED IN . The prizes where fantastic . Sadly I wasn't lucky . Randy popped that lovely groat mounted which added to its interest . I would like to thank Craig and his team for organising a great day out. And to the test team Gordon , Derek , Sharon and Neil some boy and great crack . All 110% into the Nox . Very enjoyable day out CHEERS . Dave.Kev .
  9. Must admit the thermal theory sounds to be on the right lines ???????? As i spoke to Randy from the field ,he suggested a FR which i did .And thought it had do the trick as we talked for a while and it never went off . When i set off less than a minute OFF . Now when i was talking to Randy i was shading the control . After that it was going of frequently UNTIL i got peeeed and headed back to the car never went off in 15 minutes HHHHHUUMM . I laid it down as we where getting ready to go i told Kev it had not gone off in 15 minutes . WENT BACK TO IT OFF . My thoughts i was shading it as the sun to my back .And as soon as i laid it down in the sun OFF . Crawford told me to send it back .They are replacing the top section with a new one . And it will be back with me Tuesday . Fantastic service from the Crawfords team . The faulty control/top section going back to Minelab to be checked out . When it was working popping 22 bullets at a good 7 inch impressive AND even finding air rifle pellets tiny . So we are havinf a few hours out tomorrow . Kev with his Deus ME with spade and pointer . He will find and heal i will find mind he does keep some keeping up with lol .
  10. We had a look out today . And for some reason the nox switched it's self off ???????? It would do this intermittently from 1 minute to 5 minutes just went off ??? It was fully charged . Has anyone else had this problem ??? Tried a FR . Still did it ???? Any info appreciated .
  11. What's the advantage as the stock is a straight shaft ??? Wonder what is the weight difference stock to Anderson . Or will it just lighten your Wallet lol. Be interesting and will it be value a few grams on your elbow isn't a bit thing .Well not to me . As i use a harness .
  12. The arm cup looks great as mine after only a few times out the padding is failing badly looks a useful upgrade by a owner . Cheers for sharing . Will have to look for material in the UK .
