  1. Hurry up and get out there so we can see what happens
  2. Great to follow your adventure and we did the same thing 11 years ago and are still RVing full time . Here in Australia we have a lot of younger people out detecting with no respect for private property . They are going in on school grounds which have signs of no entry and onto church ground and they are private property . It is everywhere here so I think it is going to cause our hobby a lot of harm . Keep enjoying your travels
  3. Geeeeez I feel like I am in heaven with my Equinox looking down on all the people with issues of likes and dislikes about it . After raring kids in this crazy world nothing bugs or annoys me anymore. ?? PS . I❤️ It Mr Minelab
  4. We dig 5 c only when there isn't much else on the beach . I have never had one come in a solid 10 mine have been 8/ 9 mostly and a 8/9/10 sometimes . The only thing I have had at a solid 10 was a Stainless steel ring . And I ran my Full gold sovereign over it and it's 18/19 and no differing .
  5. Just had a look at CW stuff and found a picture of what we had and left but we didn't have the centre piece but i reckon it would be there .
  6. Chase I took a photo from the Internet of the back and mine . Mine now has patina from a gentle clean ?
  7. Chase now you have me wondering . This spot was called Travellers Rest Inn and it was a thoroughfare from one place to the goldfields and they had races there and gold sovereigns for first place so the reason we found our sovereign . They also had a blacksmiths . Now this is where it gets interesting . We have found 2 Rising sun and 2 Australia badges ( second edition WW1 ) . About 2 years ago we found 'this out of the ordinary thing ' ) we are both racking our brains the exact shape ) we remember it was an odd shape and a bit bigger than our hand and it was just a bit awkward to carry so hubby sat it down and then we went and left it . We did research that night and we came up with the same picture from a civil war item and we said Na not possible and that was that until NOW . This is the place we have to ride our bikes to and thankfully we know the thick scrub very well there and will be able to find it again but will take a few hours . Thanks for that info and it will be a about a month before we go back to look but will keep you posted.
  8. Hope if he is he realises there is more valuable treasure over in the UK than here in OZ .
  9. Same here . I think Bruce Candy has it in his head and just not ready to give it to us . Maybe our grandkids . ?? Hope gold won't be worthless by the time it happens
  10. Yeh and it wouldn't have been that long if he hadn't dug my detecting holes for me ??
  11. Phrunt . Only about one third of this is from the Gold Coast . I work a lot of beaches in Northern NSW where I came from . But they still work the Gold Coast and get good stuff . Around Main Beach there will be about 8 detectorists working that and Surfers Paradise but they still get stuff . At the moment there are only a couple of spots with a bit of sand off and that's where we have worked as nobody else likes to do out of the popular spots . You most definately need to bring your detector . There is a group Metal Detecting Gold Coast , so you should join that and keep an eye on what's happening . There is always someone talking about a cut on the beach when it happens . Also most go and check out sea cams to see how many are on the beaches . Personally if I need to go I go
