Welcome to the forum Rick from SoCal.

Thank you for the time and hard work you’ve put into this site Steve. It’s my daily go to forum. I like the look and feel of detectorprospector.com and the posts and comments are as much fun for me as going detecting. Well almost.

Poll - Primary Intended Use For Equinox
BeachHunter replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
I certainly am. I'm primarily a beach hunter. So if I can replace finding aluminum pull tabs and tent stakes for more gold finds I will have gotten my monies worth on the new Equinox. -
Can A Drone Be A Prospecting Tool?
BeachHunter replied to Reg Wilson's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
I think it would be a great idea to use a Drone especially if you are going into wilderness areas, desert and other open areas. Or if you are going to be in an area for more than a few hours One thing Id sure wait until the price comes down. FAA rules say you cant fly them over 400 ft. In the USA.. -
Thank you for your kind words Judy. She’s the life that breathes in me.

New Equinox Beach Report From Hawaii

I’d be interested in the shaft’s I.D. And O.D. I have couple of carbon fiber shafts in my shop and would love to make a CF shaft for the Equinox. -
New Equinox Beach Report From Hawaii
BeachHunter replied to Steve Herschbach's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
I probably wouldn’t throw the shaft and parts down on the sand prior to assembly though... but I’ve been known to step over gates to save the hinges. -
My lovely wife would say you can look at it another way and say the Equinox is closer to being delivered than it was a month ago. God Bless her. She has so much patience! Lol!

I need more hours on my Deus. Thanks guys.
-
I’m new to the Deus so I may be doing something wrong but I was under the impression I was in the stock dry beach mode. While detecting the sand I wandered into the wet slope and the Hf Elliptical Coil was very stable and hit on what I thought was a deep repeatable target. As far as what frequency the stock dry beach mode was in, I don’t know. Best of luck and my apologies if I caused you concern.
-
My apologies, I missed that in the first posts. Thank you Steve for the detailed reply.
-
The Hf Coil is new to me but the few times I have used it at the beach it was stable on both the dry and wet sand in the dry beach mode. Your mileage may vary due to locale. Depth? Was as it always is for my area wet or dry.
-
For some reason the lower weighted Beach modes bug me and I’m concerned the Equinox will have a problem finding small gold at the beach. I.E. small findings on gold chains or small open earrings. Can one just use a different mode in the dry sand, other than the beach modes?

Why So Many People Not Sure Of The Equinox?
BeachHunter replied to Gerry in Idaho's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
My Deus with the HF Elliptical Coil works very well for me at the beach, even on the wet sand. So I’ll be using the Equinox to compliment the Deus and vice versa. -

Looks like you had a good time. Thanks for the pics and good luck. -
Iron Bios could be similar to “balance” Gain? like when setting the bios on an amp tube. I could be way off though. Maybe something to do with the audio as in Iron Audio? The filters adjust the balance of what you hear from the target.

Here’s hoping the waterproof headphones are priced reasonably.
