  1. Depending on your locations, I like the full sized Minelab Koss UR-30 HP when full size covering is needed. The small, Garrett’s Easy Stow HP are very good and less than 30 dollars. Best of luck,
  2. Still using the Garrett Carrot and does everything I need it to do. The Minelab one looks good too. Good luck.
  3. I think it’s a very good idea to show patience and respect to our Dealers and everyone else for that matter. After all, they are just like you and me when it comes to doing the thing we love. It’s the sport, not just the equipment. Great write up Gerry. Thanks!
  4. My Amazon Kindle’s usb Charger looks like it may work also.
  5. I started detecting using the Minelab Excalibur II and loved it. I had more time on it and really got to know the Excal. Eventually, I sold it and was immediately disappointed. I see the Equinox as the perfect replacement for my Excalibur. Not that the Equinox is a replacement for what the Excal does but a replacement for me personally. Also, the new Equinox’s speed and weight is a very big plus. Best of Luck everyone!
  6. Thanks Steve for the comment on the Equinox. I’m very excited to get the Equinox soon to see what it’s all about. Best of luck!
  7. I was just typing in about the backlight option. You are psychic Steve.
  8. We used to order our new surfboards in the same colors so our wives didn’t know we just got another one. Honestly though, I don’t think I actually ever fooled my wife cause she could still count.
  9. I’ve had to use non-polarized sunglasses to help to see the LCD screens on more than one detector.
  10. True but the beach sand is tough on my phone. My ink jet printer will print both sides of the paper at a reduced size. Once I figure out how to do it.
  11. The forum members here are awesome people and do make a new guy or gal feel welcome. Good luck!
  12. I thought Minelab’s timing, releasing the Equinox Manual with the first shipments, is awesome! I can’t wait to dive in.
  13. Thank you for the time and hard work you’ve put into this site Steve. It’s my daily go to forum. I like the look and feel of detectorprospector.com and the posts and comments are as much fun for me as going detecting. Well almost.
  14. I certainly am. I'm primarily a beach hunter. So if I can replace finding aluminum pull tabs and tent stakes for more gold finds I will have gotten my monies worth on the new Equinox.
  15. I think it would be a great idea to use a Drone especially if you are going into wilderness areas, desert and other open areas. Or if you are going to be in an area for more than a few hours One thing Id sure wait until the price comes down. FAA rules say you cant fly them over 400 ft. In the USA..
  16. Thank you for your kind words Judy. She’s the life that breathes in me.
  17. I’d be interested in the shaft’s I.D. And O.D. I have couple of carbon fiber shafts in my shop and would love to make a CF shaft for the Equinox.
  18. I probably wouldn’t throw the shaft and parts down on the sand prior to assembly though... but I’ve been known to step over gates to save the hinges.
  19. My lovely wife would say you can look at it another way and say the Equinox is closer to being delivered than it was a month ago. God Bless her. She has so much patience! Lol!
