A 9” Coil for the Equinox would be nice.

I was thinking that as well Steve. I have read where they weighted the coil for more control.
Hawaii sure would be fun.

I know what you mean about weight in the water. For me I’m so shallow (lol) in the water that I don’t think it’ll be a problem.
Best of luck Daniel, on your purchase, should you decide to go with the Equinox.

Very nice find. Thanks for the pic!

Shot with a rifle at a 100 yards! I can see it now. Everybody lined up to take a shot at a lot of money. Very cool find with awesome history. Thanks for showing us Steve!

I have a Thumlers Tumbler too. Very well made in the USA. Good luck!

I’m very excited to get my hands on this detector and put it in the water. I also pre-ordered the 800 and was told I’m 3rd on the list so here’s hoping!

My Sovereign GT is the one I won't part with. My Deus with the HF coils is awesome on our SoCal beaches wet or dry, is lightweight and is as good as the GT at finding targets.

In SoCal when I'm having a pulltab kind of day I usually move in the direction of the swell or try another beach.

Most of my stellar finds have been in the front and backyards of private homes in my area. My thinking was, all of our societies "going ons" is/was in the backyards of America. From Birthdays to graduations to the yearly 4th of July get togethers. It's all there. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the gardners who lose their jewelry.

Same here! I have an 800 on pre order and would like to know the cost of the smaller coil.

Welcome aboard Steelheader! I'm new today myself but thought I'd start right in on welcoming folks to the forum. I used to own 2.5 acres of land in Southern Oregon and really loved it up there. Best of luck!

Hey jjm,
Same here with the CTX. I found swinging slow was a bit more time consuming for me in the sand. Also, I was apprehensive about dunking it in the water with possible sealing issues? The surf can be a bit rough here in SoCal.
With the Equinox, since I don't dive, the light weight and low cost make it the perfect replacement for the my Excalibur.
This time though, it's going to get underwater.

Thank you for the welcome Steve.

Having sold my beloved Excalibur (I don't know what I was thinking) I was in the market for a new water machine. Then the Equinox was slated to be released.
I previously owned the CTX 3030 but sold it for various reasons. I was concerned about leaking water in the battery compartment basically. So I'm excited to get this new detector and put it in the water immediately.
I will let all know how it performs or really how I perform with it. Good luck to all!

Hey Everyone,
New member here and just wanted to check in.
Not a new guy at detecting and I love detecting the SoCal beaches near where I live.
It's awesome exercise and the occasional good find is what keeps me going.
Best of luck to all and thanks for having me!

The lighter weight and speed is what I’m looking forward to as well. I primarily beach hunt so recovery speed is important. That and the lightweight will allow me to last longer detecting. Best of luck! BH
