  1. Steve, will he be making them to fit your shafts?
  2. You can’t go wrong with any of the Predator Tools shovels. They are very high quality and they have several different designs to choose from.
  3. I also use the Predator Tools Sparky. I hunt mainly parks and schools, and I don’t want to carry around a big shovel. I like to be as inconspicuous as possible. The Sparky looks more like a regular hand tool. I can still use my foot to push it into the ground, and it digs perfect plugs.
  4. Just out of curiosity, I weighed the remote and the ws6 with the shaft adapter. The weight for the remote is 5.41 oz., and the weight of the ws6 with the shaft mount adapter is 2.52 oz.. The weight difference is 2.89 oz.. I tried swinging both when I was out detecting and I can’t really tell a difference when swinging the coil.
  5. I have a brand new never used Tesoro Epsilon (5 pin) 7" precision coil. It is a very desirable coil and is pretty much impossible to find now. I am looking to trade it for an excellent condition Tesoro Delta (4 pin) 5.75" widescan coil. If anyone is interested in trading, let me know. I am not interested in selling this coil. If nobody in interested in trading, I am keeping this coil.
  6. Went out Friday for a short hunt at a local school. I was detecting the grass strip in front of the school when I got a 49 signal on the Deus 2. This small 10K black hills gold ring was about 4 inches down in the ground. This makes 5 gold rings and 1 gold pendant that I have found this year, all with the Deus 2. It’s a good thing that I found the ring, because all I found besides it were 2 dimes, 5 pennies and trash. For me, the sweet spot for gold rings and jewelry on the Deus 2 is from around 50 to about 75. That range is where all of my gold rings and jewelry have come in at.
  7. It’s actually yellow gold. It just looks like rose gold in the picture. My wife has also confiscated some of my jewelry finds😀.
  8. I went out for a short hunt at a park in Albany, OR on Monday. I wasn't really expecting to find much, I mainly just wanted to get out of the house for a while and get a little exercise. I had only found a few clad coins and was on my way back to my truck when I decided to make a quick trip around the edge of the basketball court. I was about 3/4 of the way around the court when I got a 56/57 signal on the Deus 2. Out popped this 14K gold ring with several small diamonds. I tested the diamonds and they are real. I was using my modified General program. So far this year that makes 4 gold rings and 1 gold pendant that I have found with the Deus 2.
  9. Found this yesterday out in the field of a local middle school. It is a 10K gold religious pendant. It is very thin and only weighs .9 grams. This is the 4th gold that I have found with the Deus 2 this year. I was using my "Pitch" program which is a modified version of the Fast program. The only changes that I made to the Fast program are, I set the discrimination at 10 and I set a notch from 11 to 35. Because the pendant is so thin it came in at a TID of around 40-41 on the Deus 2. That is down in the range where a lot of foil shows up. I don't always dig targets in that range, but for some reason something told me to dig this one. I'm glad that I did.
  10. My wife said that she would do some research on it to see if she could find out anything, but being that old, I don’t think there is much chance. I tried to find the owner of a previous class ring that I found that was a lot more recent, and didn’t have any luck finding the owner.
  11. I went to a local park in Albany, OR last Sunday. I wasn't having much luck, with mostly trash and a few clad coins. I was digging a lot of the older square tabs which come in at around 75 on my Deus 2. I got another signal with a 75 target ID, and I figured that it was another of the older square tabs. I almost passed it up, but then I decided that I might as well dig it up. Boy, was I ever surprised! It was a 10K gold girls class ring from 1957. It was about 6 inches deep. It weighs 7.5 grams. This is the third gold ring for me this year. Every gold ring that I have found over the years I have been metal detecting, I was sure that they were going to be some kind of trash. You have to dig a lot of trash to find the gold.
  12. What is a two box detector? I’ve never heard of that.
  13. I went to a school here in Corvallis for a short hunt yesterday. I was just going to detect the playground at first, but I didn't find anything, not even a zinc penny. There is a small grass strip that goes between the school and the street. I was going to call it quits, but then I decided that I might as well detect the grass strip before I left. I was using a modified Fast program that I call my "Pitch" program. I got a signal with a 50-51 TID. I almost didn't dig it because I was also getting an iron tone with it. I was surprised when out popped this 12K gold ring. One of the leaves is Black Hills gold and the other leaf is yellow gold. After I retrieved the ring I passed the coil back over the hole, and there was something iron there also.
  14. Thanks. I kept looking for v. 1.1 and couldn’t find it. I got it all updated to 1.1 now.
  15. When I go on the XP website and click on update, it only shows v. 1.0. How do I get to the 1.1 update?
  16. How do you get to the 1.1 update? When I go on the xp website, and go to updates, it only shows v. 1.0.
  17. The counterweight definitely helps with the 11” and 11x13” coils. I got a custom straight shaft for my Deus 2 from Steve with the counterweight option. I have the 9”and 11” coils. The 9”coil is fine without the counterweight. I tried the 11” coil both without and with the counterweight. The counterweight definitely makes a big difference for me with the 11” coil. I am using a total counterweight of 13 oz..
  18. I guess I will just keep my Equinox 800 then. I use the module all the time with my earphones.
  19. Can you use the wm 08 wireless module with the Equinox 900 and 700 detectors?
  20. I worked at OSU for 30+ years and retired from there in 2001. I started metal detecting in 2001 and my first detector was the XLT. I still have one but I don’t use it much anymore. The detector I was using before the Deus 2 was the Deus, so I didn’t have any problems transitioning to the Deus 2. Before that I was using the Equinox 800. I don’t know why people keep saying that the Deus and Deus 2 are too complicated . I didn’t have any problems figuring them out, and I am not very technologically knowledgeable.
  21. I hunt mostly parks and schools in my area. There is not a lot of relic hunting to do here. Iron is not a big problem here, but I like to hear it. I have the iron volume set at 2. Bottle caps are a problem, and I have the bottle cap reject set at 3.
  22. Yes, I have notched 11-40, and I dig everything above 40. You have to dig a lot of trash in order to get gold.
  23. Yesterday I went to a park in Albany, OR. I was using my custom General program. Discrimination at 10, 11 through 40 notched out, Sensitivity at 95, reactivity at 2, and pitch tone. It was about 6 inches down in the ground. It came in at 54 vdi. When I opened the plug, I could see it shining in the bottom of the hole. It is a 10K white gold mans ring with a star sapphire stone.
