I think the F-Pulse will do nicely for nugget and coin/relic hunting.  The F-Pulse is remarkably stable even at maximum sensitivity, and it can detect sub-gram items. Check out the videos I posted in the Fisher/Teknetics forum: http://www.detectorprospector.com/forum/forum/12-first-texas-bounty-hunter-fisher-teknetics/

I plan on using the F-Pulse for sniping bedrock as well as general pinpointing for coins and jewelry. I have not tested the F-Pulse with the Equinox yet, but hopefully I will get to in the next week or two.  The F-Pulse does have the ability to shift the frequency to run with various detectors.

But has anyone yet tried using it with the Nox? I'm still obnoxiously waiting for mine.

  2. So many good ones. I'm just trying out my fisher f-pulse which has good features like 2 yr warrantee, waterproof, pulse induction good in mineralization, good depth, fully adjustable sensitivity, abrasion resistant.hoping no interference with the Nox , but there are multiple frequencies to select from

Of course there's the new Minelab pro find 15 and 35(ferrous tone) should be good with equinox. that's just the beginning. Garretts always good choice too.

  3. I thank everyone for posting their initial experiences with the equinox- at least the waiting time is not wasted time because I feel I will be all the more prepared as a result of reading these. Weather here improving though,so I hope it comes soon.

4" snow Saturday night, tomorrow and Wednesday they say 68/72.

  4. Whatever logic Minelab uses it is clear that for them to take care of all the preordered equinoxes within their stated goal of the end of march (40 days), they will have to seriously up their shipping quotas to all dealers- regardless of whether or not they allocate whatever cabelas is.  To that end, i would expect the next shipment allocations to be much larger than the first one--- followed by another large one two weeks later. They surely won't get there shipping 2-3 at a time. Makes sense to me anyway.

  5. Sorry to hear of any possible problems so soon, hope it "corrects" itself without further incident. Perhaps we should keep this thread to keep track of all reports of problems no matter how big or small. If anyone hears of anything from other forums it should be noted here too.

  6. Minelab top rep expects all preorders to be filled by end of march, so anyone who has been waiting 3 months or more really should have theirs by early to mid march, and some before end of February as the second wave of detectors will soon be at the distribution centers. I bet there's a huge amount of preorders placed since the announcement in late December.

  7. Update:  just got an email with tracking number from metaldetector.com so my fisher f-pulse has shipped.   I ordered it December 6

Im excited to be getting this pinpointer though I admit I'd rather be getting my Equinox 800. At number 7 on the preorder list I'm hoping for a hefty 2nd shipment..Im pretty sure the f-pulse will not interfere with my f75, and I'm hoping it will also be Ok with the equinox

I ordered from a smaller dealer in early December.  He only received a couple 800s last week and I'm still #7 on his list, so like many of you I may have a bit of a wait.  But what I'm hoping is that Minelab airfreighted a small initial shipment to the US, with perhaps a much larger shipment on the way by sea, so the pace of deliveries to customers may pick up.  Of course this is just speculation and wishful thinking on my part, but here's hoping.

I'm in a similar situation and I had the very same thought you did about the air vs sea freight. But you're right it is only speculation

  9. I've come to terms with the idea that I have to wait for 2nd batch arrival from Minelab.

I expect some uncertainty regarding when next batch arrives, and how big it will be, but what is upsetting is hearing some sources saying most preorders should be covered before march and others saying by end of march......maybe. 3 weeks is one thing, 7 weeks is quite another
