Saw that too, but nothing new info-wise

It's interesting all the dealer- buyer relationships described here. I prepaid for mine on October 8, and was not told what number I was just that I was close to the top of the list. He expects just a few from the initial shipment and I doubt I'll get one of them. I asked a week before I ordered to go on the list with the money transaction a week later, and the dealer said he couldn't do it. I'm not a new customer either.

When my dealer said he didn't expect more than a few detectors and not for several more weeks, I became so frustrated I emailed Minelab in a very civil way asking for REAL information. Last night (4 days later) they did respond, but only to reiterate the same vague storyline- the initial units have been shipped to distributors and the dealers will be advised of how many and when, and due to the extremely high demand they are behind schedule but committed to covering the preorders as soon as possible.
Im glad they cleared that up?

I'm wondering what the reasoning is for the default GB setting of 0 in park and field modes? To me it would make more sense for the default to be GB tracking.
-
It looked like it was made for me and I wanted for the first time to have a new detector from the earliest release, so I could be among the first group of users, and to learn it along with others, sharing experiences on this forum.

I sold my safari and very used xterra 705 in order to finance the equinox preorder. It was late September and I got a good return on them. I didn't sell them because I didn't like them, although I did thinki would be using them only rarely once I got my Equinox. I dont think the deus will stop selling although their sales might take a hit. I smell price reduction. I expect the new macro kruzer line, that are feature-packed, and well-priced will sell well. The competition in the market will put downward pressure on the pricing of existing and proven detectors, which will pick up in sales.

Another conspiracy? Missing page 47
who notices page numbers??lol
what I want more information on is why park and field modes have a ground balance default setting of 0. So is an automatic ground balance recommended at the start of detecting? Or do you just start to detect with the default setting? Why would a 0 setting be the default and not ground balance tracking. With my xterra 705, I used to run GB tracking almost exclusively. The manual doesn't say all that much on the subject of ground balance. Curious

Didn't want to have any worries so I got a belkin ( top quality) charger. One port , 2.1 amp. 10 watt ( 5 volt) I got single port because I'm not sure if you have 2-port and charge another device at the same time as the equinox, that the amperage is or isn't divided between ports, lengthening the equinox full charge time.probably over-thinking the subject but there you are.

That is exactly what I was thinking. What, no ML love for the Kiwi's?
Minelab is playing no favorites, if they were, the blokes down under would already be swingin' their noxes, and as yet they are not.

are you serious? Well good for you!!!
Were you expecting it or was it a pleasant surprise? No need to wait to use it. Imo

Daily routine since new year:
get home from work, kiss wife, pet dog, make cup of coffee, check latest delay news on the forums.
Even though my dealer tells me I'm near the top of the list, I'm not expecting mine till round two and towards the end of February. I'm studying the manual and posts not dealing with delivery so I expect I'll be well prepared when I finally get my Equinox- which will be that much closer to mild weather. I do look forward to seeing some of the first Equinox videos which should be online soon enough.

It is an option in all modes
-
I too am interested in this line of experimentation, though doesnt that mean single tone threshold and no descrim?
-
That is not an option with the equinox. Other than the detect modes which are preset programs with adjustable and Save-able settings, the only software changes will be in the form of periodic updates from Minelab.

I certainly hope Minelabs Friday announcement clears up all the uncertainty for those on the preorder list. (Prepaid or deposit). They should by then let all dealers holding orders know how many they can each expect, and when, so we all can then know for sure from our dealer if we will be getting one, or having to wait for a second wave of detectors to arrive at the distribution center.
-
My biggest concern is that they'll ship soon, but dealers will get only a couple each initially, and someone near the top of the preorder list still may have to wait. Possibly weeks more!
-
Do you think people would be upset if Minelab says they shipped out GOFINDS
by mistake?
-
No chase, it's a group recurring nightmare.
Thankfully one I think is ending

In the words of the late, great Mel Fischer "Today's the day!"
Here's how things seem to be going with the EQ shipping from what I gather:
Another forum posted that ML said at the U.S. ML Dealers meeting this month that the EQ would be delayed.
Strictly looking at the shipping logistics to the U.S., I have doubts anyone in the U.S. will receive a production unit until March, perhaps even April depending on the delay. If they ship via container shipment from Malaysia to the U.S. that's a good month or so, then they need to be processed through customs (unknown time delay), then shipped to the distributor. Will the distributor ship to the dealer to reship to the end customer? Or will they drop ship it to the end customer on behalf of the dealer and save a bit of time?
Hopefully ML will surprise us and everyone will have their pre-orders in hand sooner
A worst of the worst case scenario, and one that I reject. If the shipping were to take that long, Minelab surely would have said something more like: production units will be shipping by late January, and those with preorders can expect to receive theirs from late February onward......
I think they know better.

Everyone making it sound like you're leaving for good. Glad you'll still be around but more in the background.
Thank you you're a class act look forward to advanced user guide too

I'll go with feb. 9- because I'm an optimist
-
I also have one on order so that question will be answered soon enough.
There are plenty of pin pointers out there to choose from, but the f-pulse had the best set of features. If it arrives before my Equinox, I'll first try it out with my f75

It may be that Minelab got their pricing right here, when you see what's coming up from other manufacturers. Macro is releasing 3 new detectors in February with the most expensive one being the multi kruse, priced at $799.

Why on sale? They need more preorders?
who is advertising the sale?
