  1. Regarding equinox performance, this will be the first detector I've ever purchased at the time of release. I intend to use it most of the time in 2018, and to follow what users are posting as to their experiences with it, and relate that to my own.

I will be following a few forums ( but nothing on Facebook- which I stay away from) though I'll trust THIS forum and Steve to cut through to what's relevant and what's not.

I'm so glad this site and Steve will be available during the roll out period of the equinox and beyond

  2. We don't yet even know how much minelab will charge for the two coils that will be available for the Equinox. If they go for a modest $150 or so each I can see getting one or maybe both. But if they cost $200 or more each I will likely wait till I've had some real experience using the new detector. I think the 11" dd coil that's standard will suit most situations well. And other accessories may become available later on, maybe even a concentric coil. We will see. I really dislike changing coils in the first case, unless they have dedicated lower rod.

A Teknetics Omega (7.8 kHz) coil working on the Fisher F75 (13 kHz) is a big surprise.  Even the Tek T2 (also 13 kHz) coils supposedly don't work on the F75.  Guess I need to do some experimenting myself.  I have several coils for my 19 kHz Fisher Gold Bug Pro, and those work on the Tek Gamma (sibling of the Omega).  Going to be interesting....

works fine, though I haven't used enough to see how TID is using them compared to the stock coil, but I don't think that disqualifies them. I have them and they work so why not use them?

  4. Thank You Steve, I don't know why it hasn't been commented on before this. I know the Nox has not even been released but I hope Minelab offers up a 9" or 10" concentric coil like the one  the x terra 705 came with as its stock coil ( although I really preferred the 10.5" dd on the 705)

i think for the equinox I'd rather get a concentric coil before I got a small or large dd as an accessory coil, unless I had very expansive fields to detect.

i am often confused by the multiple signals that dd coils give on shallow targets. I think I will try the 5"x10" concentric coil from my Omega on my f75-I've already tried the 5"x10" dd from the Omega and it worked well.

Ordered mine Dec 6 at 4:01 PM.  I check here a couple times a day to see if anyone is getting them and seeing the new reviews.
I have not been able to get on the Minelab site this afternoon. I wonder if they are down for updates.

I couldn't get onto minelab.com Friday night and also couldn't help thinking they were  updating the site with equinox announcement ( hope hope)

  6. I pre-ordered my Equinox 800 on October 8 and paid for it up front. I knew I wanted to get one from the start, but had to first sell another machine in order to make ordering the Nox possible. I'm anxious to get one in my hands like everyone else that has one on pre-order, but right now I'd be happy if minelab put out a firm delivery date.
