  1. I gave Tony what he needed ... pin out ect early on and ive got couple pairs of his phones. Traded a pair to Cliff even. Just dang good phones. Settings we all use obviously with a little adjustment for the day maybe is...... AM, sensitivity 9, threshold 0, BKS OFF, St 30-33 track OFF, vol 15, GB 560 disc -30 and 9Khz... sometimes 6.5 hunting together in the water. 12khz in the wet sand 27 St.... 18 or 12 in the dry sand. We reverse disc if we want to hear the targets rather than just dig um all. That intels pushing the MODE button.... and a couple of times to get back to AM. Jumpy screen but over a target just wiggle it a bit. Its picky about where you get the best read.... normally back a bit from the tip. on the wet sand you will get used to tiny pieces of iron like kind of like the Sov does or a machine that picks up hot rocks. Thats why we went to the -30 .... if you notch say +28 you still get more positve responses. Its a fun learning experience.....
  2. Chase i was in the process of editing that post .... i added the info you wanted. Ive handed them out to a couple guys here. But to be honest.... ive only replaced them once. I dont use grease on them.... just run um under hot water to bring back the natural stickiness. My machine stays in the salt water so they seem real durable. Just before each hunt i use a small painters brush to brush any sand off then blow to make sure its gone..... same with the cap. Those black O rings are 1.5X36 Durometer 70A Buna N. I believe USAsealing.com has them as well.
  3. The adapter is an M8.... you can get off Amazon..... the come solderless as well in a 90 degree angle which you can make point OVER the top of the shaft. The cable doesnt get in your way. Red O rings....McMaster's PN 1173N018..... black O rings McMasters PN 9262K657
  4. Unfortunately I try not to say to much about dirt hunting and these newer machines just because I don’t dirt hunt now Chase. Loved field hunt in Ind and some of the old parks there. I may take a machine and do some in the spring during my trip.
  5. Sal.... I use mine mostly in the water and some wet sand... but it’s a very capable beach machine. Like Chase said there’s no perfect machine. The Nox is great especially for the price and warranty.... but in the salt water the MDT is hard to beat. Things start getting a little more equal in the wet sand. But I think the coming 12” coil will really step it up. Dry sand the Nox has a lot of modes to work with depending on what you want to find. Never used a Deus but I have friends with um ... great machine but again not an in the salt water machine. Steve showed a video which was released a bit early apparently. I like the upgrades to make it waterproof completely. First time I seen that machine. Aaron said he had a couple he’d used for testing sounded like he’d sell one.
  6. Bob ... all that noise we hear here in the water when we get near the hard pan can be gray mud concentrate or fine black sand and metal flakes. That’s really something to listen to.... running the machine hot if you don’t hear it tells you you may have a lot of moved fluffy sand .... good sign when you hear it..... I just adjust the sensitivity but start to really pay attention.... much like when you start finding iron.
  7. Bob what you describe seems normal to me on an exceptionally hot machine with auto GB. Swinging N to S you have a natural rise even a slight rise and are going against the "grain" where black sand forms in sheets..... kind of like going over a bumpy road with a car. Running E to W some of that you dont get because you GB doesnt have to adjust as quickly. We even get this in the water with about any machine if you try and hunt those high banks. It falses because we tend to swing the coil up .... kind of what you get from the so called "golf swing" lol. Now at the waters edge..... waster is move and expanding the sand causing gaps and moving more of that black sand. likely reduced sensitivity running N to S at the waters edge could be a better path. Then do your E to W grinding.......its likely you are loosing depth anyway as the machine adjusts itself.
  8. I agree Bob ...if it takes that same amount of time that really bites into warranty time. Maybe it will keep you off the beach thou and I can get some gold 😂. Right now you need a snorkel when you step off the high bank beaches.... tides are deep.
  9. Thomas..... i have NOT seen a final price .... but they have stressed its going to be much more expensive. Thus the number buddy. Im expecting it to be between $2200 and $2500..... but id sure be pleased if it was lower. Id think they would be consistent with other PIs of this quality..... like the Aquascan, Garretts ATX, the ML PIs. With Whites out of the game that could raise it to what i expect the price tag to be. Then IF Joe does a battery for it.... add that.... AND id want both coils lol. Adding Joes battery was pretty huge for the AQ too. Fisher has made a pretty good investment in this machine.... so i also assume they would like to get that back quickly. This has been a BAD year for business and Texas has been hit hard. Mike im not sure thats a bad thing. Had you been able to transfer that warranty .... now theres a deal enticer. Plus the machine seems to be constantly changing for the better.
  10. Clive buddy.... it’s on my to do list... if it ever gets out
  11. I believe the CZ20s had an aluminum shield inside the box. It’s been a long time but I think I had to move it and did some adjustment in there.
  12. Clive i dont disagree..... but is it worth it to pay an additional grand for those not quite using it as much? I do like the design that Joes showing..... im hoping Joe has a battery for it as well. The 8" will be an interesting addition if the depths right. I seen JoanAnn is taking pre-orders. You know those are diehard hunters on that list with no expected time-frame out yet.... or they know some thing the US dealers dont? Id drop a little money on a pre-order if it would give us a time-frame. Especially with money being tight for a lot of hunters this year. Ive been on a roll spending money on..... big projects around the home..... so whats a little more lol.
  13. So is it the boards arent grounded? I wouldnt think the box would pick up much EMI. Most of the EMI should be comes from the coil.
  14. Thomas.... since you have one... id be asking whats the price without the coil. Why... might just help ya pay for that 12" lol. Dimitar and Fisher are killing me right now.... neither has their coils out and we dont know when they will ..... nor the production model of the AQ. This upgrade on the MDT was really needed for the real beach hunters..... and gives an option to the relic hunters. I realize most arent in the water right now..... like we are here in Fl. Crappy winter right now unless you want to dry sand hunt.
  15. Oooooo Joe going to be in time out lol. Thanks Joe, i like the looks of that..... all of that. Well except i still would prefer to have that cable on the right hand side to cut down on coil vibration. Which id guess gets picked up on such a sensitive machine. Get them kinks worked out buddy before the production model gets to my door. By the way...... Merry Christmas to you to Joe.
  16. Thomas Merry Christmas to you and your family as well Thomas. 8” that’s good ... I may have it confused with another detector. I know its been out there in the water I’d like to see a picture of it?
  17. I’m waiting on the production model. More info coming out on performance and of course quirks. Which I’m sure are being addressed. Sure do like Joes battery really has made the machine worth having. Keep things standard....simple... like easy headphone connectors and the battery life Joe added. Has that 6” coil that was expected in September came out yet? Hopefully after the shots get out things can get shaking
  18. I thought the LIMITED was just that limited and limited to the US? Dont know how it can be pre-order if its LIMITED to the US. Right now it doesnt seem Fisher has the ability to roll a lot of um out. Thats an awfully good price that im sure a lot of the guys would rather have paid. Seems they have a few bugs to work out as well. Do they have a repair shop overseas?
  19. It would have been challenging for those overseas at this point even with the warranty. Another issue is resale..... there is no warranty even on a like new machines. So you need to get a GOOD deal with the expectation .... it might have to go back on your coin.
  20. I know a few thats went back..... isnt there just 30ish out. So id say it could be higher than that. It also seems less are using them as a daily use machine..... nothing takes the tole on a machine like HOURS in the salt water. I think both me and Joe can attest to that. If its going to break or fail thats the most likely place. Rarely had an issue with a machine when i dirt hunted. Man that changed.... no matter the machine. What matters at this point is the warranty..... as well as the length.... and right now with the virus especially in Tx having the crew and ability to get them in and out .
  21. Thanks Shelton. Good to see hes still making improvements. He needs to replace those tiny screws on the cuff. They all come unscrewed for those of us using it in the water. Do you know if this will be an insert we can buy? I think this is great you showed some things being done. It allows feed back BEFORE it hits the street. Its kind of a team effort...... we make suggestions and hopefully the makes listen..... or we end up doing mods like on the Xcal.
  22. Ill gladly pay that ..... just because it will pay me back ... that i know unless it a crap coil. From what ive been told ..... the results were pretty good ... especially for just 1 inch difference. Better than ML got with the 15..... ill be impressed if thats true especially if you have to reduce the ML..... and dont loose much depth in the water..... that can be a huge plus... for here thats PI depth. Sounds like you are having real success with the AQ Thomas. Ive sent a text to Dimitar asking if this is a CHOICE..... or is someone attempting to copy his machine. From Tom this could be a fact as of a couple of weeks ago. I think its smart...... he could now separate it into two machines relic and beach and go different directions with the programing. IF that cap is aluminum thou..... its going to blister in the salt water. SS would be a better choice. Doestn look like a slip-in mode either. The loss of the speaker is no big deal to me and i suggested it to him. Id dare say over 95% of the hunters rarely us the speaker and us headphones. WATERPROOF and being willing to say its fully WATERPROOF may get more interest as well because in the water this is a really good machine..... or at least has been for me.
  23. Steve..... ive not seen this machine or even heard of it as a second choice. Good ideas, but if Dimitar made that hes not saying anything. This almost seems like someone is trying to copy and sell another version. There are a few areas needing sealed..... the wire coming in from the thru the lower handle from the battery box..... the front has two prongs that holds it on to the shaft, the speaker as mentioned, and i like that cap. Carolina.... when did you talk to Tom? He and Dimitar were testing the 12" coil few weeks ago in the Miami area. They are waiting on a mold is what ive been told.
  24. Good one Bob. Im having time keeping up with you this year. When the Nox came out ..... i was hoping it would get us more of these kind of finds in the wet sand..... then came the AQ with its low uS...... still think there is a lot more small to tiny gold just inches down being missed. The small ones may not pay much...... but they sure do impress.
  25. You said you were going to try an get out..... looks like you did well. Boy do i hear you about staying warm. Even here in Fl ill wear a 7mm wet suit as the temps change in Jan. Some days ..... you just unzip it and let water in..... others zip it to your neck lol. Lot going on right now for both of us ...... so these trips to the beach sure does help clear the ole head. Few more days to the end of the year. You going to show us your pile of gold this year?
